Here's a smart lighting solution for many outdoor applications. The MAXSA 40225 floodlight detects motion up to 40 feet away and turns on automatically to illuminate the area. It's great peace of mind you don't have to remember to turn the light on when you leave, and when you return at night the light will pop on as you pull into your driveway. The solar-powered design saves energy and simplifies installation. Just use the supplied cable to connect the solar panel to the floodlight, and the sun's rays will charge its built-in battery. No need to connect it to your home's existing wiring.
The light is really bright, the controls are easy to use, and the sensitivity is as good as can be expected. The only drawback to the product is the installation of the solar panel itself. One engineer designed the hinge; one engineer designed the mounting plate. Neither spoke to the other, consequently two of the four screws are nearly impossible to install. My installation entailed leaning over the roof to affix the solar panel to the eve. The hole location made it nearly impossible. The light itself is great, though, and if you're installing from a ladder or the ground, it might not be a troublesome process. Get it! You won't be disappointed.
We installed this light following all instructions. Let it charge for about a week before
using it and It worked great for two days, but then just stopped! We are now in the
process of taking it down and returning it. I certainly thought that for the money, this
would have worked a lot longer. I'm very disapointed.
Just like all my past purchases from Crutchfield, I am very satisfied with the
MAXSA light fixture. Installation was a snap with the very detailed instructions
included. Less than an hour from box to completion. The solar collector was
powering the LED's after a few hours in the sunlight. Adjusting the sensitivity,
darkness, and time on settings was quick and accurate. Highly recommend the
I moved into a house that had dark corners in the yard.
The back porch light was limited in both range and
dispersion. These motion dactivated lights are great. I
let the dog out. Where he decides to go gets well lit for
him. No wiring. No major cost. Very effective and
Have eight of these lights, Three on the front of the house and three on the back and one on each side.
One of the lights had a problem and Crutchfield replaced it without any issues at all.
These lights are very bright. The ones we have mounted 16'high have a greater sensetivity to motion than the ones mounted lower. They all work without flaw.
I am actually on line to order two more of them.
Assembly is easy, mounting is easy, just give them enough time to charge.
Yes there are limitations to mounting and aiming , but these are fairly inexpensive lights after all !!!!!!
So far so good. I installed one of these lights about a month ago and it is working as advertised. I installed a second last weekend and will add a third shortly. It is great for popping out the door to walk the dog after dark without using our big under house lights as we have a beach house on pilings. The true test will be over time.
The light works well so far and was easy to install. No complaints yet! I figured if Crutchfield sold it, the light was probably a good product. No need to waste my time doing the research; they (hopefully) have already chosen a good product to sell.
Light works great. Installed over a backyard walkway where running an electrical line would have been difficult. The light is not as bright as an electrical floodlight but it's bright enough. Batteries are easy to replace as they are a common rechargeable battery. Solar panel needs at least 4 hours of sun a day.
I purchased two of these lights. The first one charged up fine and works great. The second one charged up fine but once the sensor came on it would not ever go off. Crutchfield has sent out a replacement and hopefully will work like the first one.
The light is fairly bright and installation was fairly easy. Be sure to point the charging grid south for the best charging. The maximum time to stay on is 1 minute which could be longer for my application but I am sure it is short to save the battery charge.
My application is in an area with no AC power so it ended up being a cost savings for me.
Plan on buying more if the replacement works fine.
Great light, very bright and powerfull for a solar light. I just wish it would rotate left and right as well as up and down. Have to have it derected at your left to right position. There is no ejustment for left and right.
We bought one of these and so far so good. We have decided to buy a
second one for the barn. The light is very bright for a solar item.
Overview: The MAXSA Solar Motion-Activated Security Light (item # 40225) is solar powered using the supplied external Solar Panel and is activated by passive infrared motion sensors, while offering simple installation. The Solar Motion-Activate Wedge Light is perfect for decks, patios, balconies, entrance doors, garages, driveways, carports, walkways, backyards, farm sheds, pool areas, stairs and steps.
External Solar Panel: The supplied external Solar Panel charges through the day and coverts direct sunlight to electricity to charge the battery inside the Security Light. The Solar Panel connects to the Security Light via its attached 15' power cord. The Solar Panel features a durable weatherproof housing to protect it in all weather conditions. The Solar Panel has an adjustable head so it can mounted either on a flat or angled surface or rooftop. The Solar Panel is mounted using the supplied mounting screws and wall-anchors.
