The keypad can accept IR signals from an optional remote and transmit them through the system to the source device. The Keypad Volume Control fits into a single gang wall box, and can trimmed out with a Decora wall plate (717WP1205W).
Volume Steps: The volume control has 40 steps when you use the keypad to raise and lower the volume. When using a remote, the volume control has 36 steps.
Backlight Levels: You can adjust the level of the button backlighting. When any keypad button is tapped or the keypad receives an IR command, the backlight level goes to full bright, then returns to the preset level when the activity ceases.

Speaker Terminals: The keypad is equipped with spring-loaded clamp-type speaker terminals that can accept up to 14-gauge wire. Another set of terminals is provided for a line output, allowing you to connect a powered subwoofer or an external amplifier.
