Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Excellent product. This one has been added to a system that has been in place for 9 years to provide notification of water on a basement floor in a second location by wiring the added detector in series. I would highly recommend this family of Sensaphone products.

Pros: Simple plug and play and more detailed instructions are on line. Sensaphone phone support is also easy to get.

Cons: Adding in a second detector requires you to understand basic low voltage wiring, specifically what "in series" means. An added sentence of explanation beyond "Wire the second detector in series" would be enough for the novice.

Overview: The Sensaphone FGD-0013 Spot Water Detector Sensor detects the presence of water on the floor at its integrated probes when connected to a Sensaphone monitoring unit. This unit will work with all Sensaphone monitoring products. It comes with 25 feet of wire attached to the module to connect to your Sensaphone monitoring system. Multiple Spot Water Detector Sensors may be installed by wiring them in series. The  FGD-0013 is powered by internal lithium batteries. The batteries should last for approximately 3-5 years. When the batteries start to run down, the sensor will automatically cause an alarm dial out to your connected Sensaphone monitoring unit.
