Features

Overview: The Sensaphone WSG Wireless Temperature Sensor with External Probe is designed to work exclusively with the WSG30 Wireless Sensor Gateway system. The sensor comes with the FGD-0101 weatherproof external probe, which is connected to a 12' length of 24-gauge wire. The sensor monitors the ambient temperature where the probe is mounted. It has a temperature monitoring range of -20° to +115°F (-17° to +57°C), and is accurate to within +/-1°F. Data is sent from the sensor to the WSG30 via Wi-Fi (2.4 GHz). The sensor comes with two "AA" alkaline batteries.

Note: The sensor has an internal temperature element which can be used instead of the external probe, if desired. Without the probe connected, the monitoring range is 32°-115°F.

Wireless System: The WSG30 remote monitoring system consists of a series of wireless sensors that transmit data over Wi-Fi up to 300' indoors (and greater distances when it has line-of-sight). Sensors can be used as a wireless sensor/router, or as a end point. As a router, the sensor can extend the range of the system by an additional 300'.

Power Requirements: The WSG Temperature Sensor with External Probe operates on two "AA" alkaline batteries (included). The batteries will power the sensor for up to 2 years in end point mode (with a 3 second sampling interval). If the sensor is being used in router mode, an external plug-in power supply (Sensaphone XFR-0041) is required. Two screw terminals (marked 5V AC) are provided on the sensor's circuit board to connect the power supply. When the external power supply is used, the "AA" batteries function as backup power if the main AC power fails.

Mounting: The sensor is designed to be mounted on a flat surface. A single keyhole mount is provided for hanging on a wall (using a #6 screw). It should be mounted as high as possible for optimal wireless transmission, and near an electrical outlet if you're using the optional AC power supply. The probe wires should be connected to the input terminal and ground on the circuit board.

Registration: The Temperature Sensor's serial number needs to be entered into the WSG30 before the device is powered up. This can be done on the WSG30's web page or the keypad.
