Features
Overview: This LampLinc dimmer switch lets you
remotely control the power and brightness of an incandescent lamp with a two or
three prong plug. It should not be
used with halogen or fluorescent lights, or with incandescent lights less than
10 watts.
INSTEON System: This line of lighting and appliance control
utilizes INSTEON technology, using existing power wires as well as wireless
radio frequency (RF) to send home automation control signals to INSTEON devices
throughout the house. You must have at least two INSTEON Access point
couplers/signal repeaters (item number 7262443P) installed to control the system
in a typical residence (2-phase wiring).
Operation: This dimmer module has no built-in method of
control; it must be controlled by another INSTEON device. There are 32
brightness levels and the light's On-level, brightness when first turned on, is
programmable.
Ramp Rate: You can program the speed at which the light turns on or
off; known as the ramp rate. For example, you may want the light in the
stairwell to turn on instantly so you can see where you're walking.
Alternatively, you may want the light in the master bathroom to ramp up in a
soft, gentle fashion so you're not blinded in the middle of the night. The ramp
rate is adjustable between 0.1 second and 9 seconds and is programmed using an
INSTEON controller, which is also used to control this dimmer module.
Maximum Load: The 2456D3 dimmer switch can handle a maximum load
of 300 watts.
X10 Ready: You can program a primary X10 address into the 2456D3 and
control it with an existing X10 system.
Pass-Through Outlet: In addition to the INSTEON-controlled outlet,
the LampLinc has a non-controlled outlet on the front face.
