Now everyone can be happy: the decorator, the home theater enthusiast, the casual listener, and most of all, the audiophile who never has to trade good looks for sound again. That's because Peachtree Audio's D5 bookshelf speakers dish out highly accurate and surprisingly big sound from gorgeous cabinets that take up very little space. These speakers are ideal for music setups, from a desktop system in your office to a stereo system at home. They're more than dynamic enough for your home theater, too. And as with all Peachtree products, their fit, finish, and fidelity go way beyond what you would expect at this price point.
Each D5 has a 5-1/4" long-throw woofer and vented voice coil, so bass sounds deep, natural, and strong. A silk dome tweeter lays on the musical detail without pushing it in your face. The result is terrific fidelity at an unbelievable value. Plus, the D5s are constructed from thick MDF, so when you lift one you can feel and see the high level of craftsmanship. The beautiful real-wood veneer cabinets are sanded, smoothed, and hand-polished to bring a touch of elegance to your home or work environment.
To really show off your digital music, pair these speakers with one of Peachtree's acclaimed integrated amps, and enjoy audiophile sound direct from your computer.
Bookshelf speakers may be small in size, but they can deliver surprisingly big sound. Some ultra-compact models even fit on a desktop. Most are right at home in tight spaces like shelves, so they're usually good choices for your home theater's rear channels. For the best performance, try placing bookshelf speakers on solid speaker stands to help the sound really "open up." If you want full bass impact, add a powered subwoofer and enjoy punchy sound that's as deeply satisfying as that of floor-standing speakers.
Excellent bass, Drums and such live up to expectation. Upper end acoustics ( guitar, vocals and such) are all present and the intricacy is there, however, the sweetness of the actual notes and plucks of strings, for example, could be better. In other words, you can pick out every single note of a legendary guitar shred, however, the notes themselves are lacking slightly in vivaciousness. With that being said, satisfied overall.
Really impressed with the sound clarity and power. Could not be more pleased.
Pros: Clarity, power, looks, sound
I paired these with a Peachtree Nova65SE and put them on top of a pair of IsoAcoustic stands for my workstation audio setup. They sound amazing together.
Pros: Sound Great Look Great
Yes, I said it. The Peachtree D5 speakers are giant killers. While those words are often overused, this is NOT the case with the D5. I have used these speakers for two years now, and I have sold larger and more expensive speakers only to return to the D5 time and again. Feed these with good electronics and you will be rewarded with large, tight bass, an soundstage that will go wall to wall, and reveal a lot of detail in the recordings, maybe even more than you might like as these are very revealing speakers. I am not kidding when I say these are probably the best speakers I have ever heard under $1000, and I would not think twice about buying these if Peachtree doubled the price. And not only are they an excellent sounding speaker, but the build and appearance is second to none. As I mentioned earlier, the better the electronics are that are used with the D5, the happier the D5 will be. These are speakers that deserve the best electronics you can give them because they will reward you with the best music you will ever hear at a price that is a bargain!
Pros: Wonderful bass, expansive soundstage, very revealing of what it is given to play, well built (solid cabinet), attractive appearance, not fussy in its placement
Cons: The D5 will be dismissed because of its price but it really needs great electronics to live up to its true potential
Great sounding speakers! the D5 speakers with the iNova integrated stereo amplifier system is a great combination. You will be very impressed with the sound quality. I am pleased with my purchase! You will be too!

Good question. I haven't experimented too much with placement, but mine are on either side of a fireplace, with the backs about a foot from the wall and they sound great. I had them set up at my girlfriend's house for a while and they were a bit closer than that and I didn't notice any diminution of sound quality. [ steve Oct 03, 2015 ]
Mine are on 4' stands and about three feet from the wall, toed in. Room is 25x45. Hsu sub added much more depth to the soundstage. Really wonderful speakers once the sub filled up the low end. I suppose I could get them a bit closer to the wall, just have yet to spend the time getting OCD about it. [ WILLIAM Oct 03, 2015 ]
They're ported in the back so I give them about a foot. Great sounding speakers BTW but they need a sub. [ Diversified Mer Oct 03, 2015 ]
I returned the speakers one wouldn't work. Got the Martin Logan's instead great choice. Different placement not as critical love the ML [ Michael Oct 03, 2015 ]
