The complete package for digital and analog sources
Few companies combine digital expertise, robust amplification, and artful design as well as Peachtree Audio. Their nova125SE brings them all together in an integrated amp with striking sound and beautiful looks to match. Digital inputs welcome sources like computers, network music players, streaming media boxes, and disc players. A pair of analog inputs is perfect for a turntable and phono preamp. Connect your stereo speakers and hear how this amp's robust output is not only powerful but delicate when it needs to be, for a 2-channel system that's both transparent and immersive. It's perfect for showing less-experienced listeners just how good stereo sound can be.
Improved amplifier design
The nova125SE improves on Peachtree's original '125 by combining a discrete Class A preamp with a Class D power amplifier. Peachtree borrowed the preamp design from their flagship Grand Series amps. It delivers fine detail and texture that add depth to stereo listening. The power amp is highly efficient, eliminating the need for noisy fans or bulky heat sinks. Rest assured, this amp's got the muscle to push your speakers to great sonic heights.
If you haven't yet discovered high-resolution music, the nova125SE is bound to be an eye-opening starting point. The built-in ESS Sabre digital-to-analog converter is well-regarded in the audiophile community for its ability to reveal all the details in digital high-res files — up to 24-bit/192kHz resolution. The DAC even upsamples CD-quality files as well as MP3s to make them sound their absolute best. ESS Technology's Hyperstream Modulator eliminates the timing errors associated with digital conversion, known as jitter, for clean, accurate playback of all your digital music.
Warm your soul by the light of the tube
Nothing warms the hearts of true-blue audiophiles like a glowing vacuum tube. And nothing is better at warming up digital music than the nova125SE's triode tube buffer. When you engage it, you'll see it light up blue through the front panel window and hear how it softens the edges of digital tunes for a more analog sound. If the tube sound doesn't do it for you, switch it off and run the amp in pure solid state mode.

Everything you always wanted in a stereo receiver, except the radio
An integrated amplifier is essentially a receiver without a built-in AM/FM tuner. You get power to drive your speakers, audio controls, and inputs for music source components. Connect an iPod, a computer, a network music player, or any other device that can play Internet radio, and you may find you have no need for an AM/FM radio.
Peachtree Audio nova125SE Reviews

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)
Love it!, Simple, powerful, sounds great (paired with dynaudio excite 14s).
Should be a top seller everywhere
I have been an exhaustive search for audio nirvana trying mutliple speakers from multple brands and multiple amplifiers from multiple brands, these include: Bowers and Wilkins, Paradigm, KEF, Wharfedale, McIntosh, Rotel, Marantz, SONOS, Parasound, and now Peachtree. I could never quite describe what I was after when trying all of these combination except to say I did not have it. Where some amplifiers voiced to set you in the back of a theater and some have you in the middle of the band, the Peachtree does a very good job placing you in the front row (just how I want it to be). Some amplifiers do this at the risk of coming off bright/harsh but this is not the case with this unit. I find the sound very melodic and smooth. I have also found that the different frequencies are very well seperated, no where near the bleed that I experienced with others. The on board dac is very good, comparable to the Parasound Zdac in my experience. Lastly, the bass is very pleasing. I had some reservation with the lack of tone control but I have since rescinded that concern.
I have heard far more expensive units not sound as good as the Peachtree 125SE, I highly recommend it and fully expect the consumer reviews for this family of amplifiers to explode.
Pros: Sound Quality Imaging Clarity Optical inputs DAC Subtle volume adjustments (seriously lacking on some others) Style
Cons: Remote Control is easily bested by other brands tone control (just because we like to dabble)
quite a package
Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)
I've auditioned the Peachtree 125se integrated amp for five weeks, at least 50 hours of careful listening. Here's what I've found. First of all, I'm not comparing it to equipment costing thousands of dollars more. I've never owned any. But given all that this piece of equipment does, and how well it does it, It is clear to me that for less than the price of a handful of mid-range consumer-grade components one can instead assemble a far superior stereo system that has at its core the Peachtree 125se integrated amp. Coupled with an inexpensive computer, this amp becomes an all-in-one music system, capable of playing music from your favorite streaming source as well as providing access to 1000+ hours of CD-quality music on a modest hard drive. So for less than $2000 you get a great preamp, a powerful (125 w per side) amp, a killer DAC, a streaming music system, and storage for 1000+ hours of music. Did I say "headphone jack?" I'd be remiss not to mention the Peachtree system discount, $300 when you combine the 125se with a pair of D5 speakers. Toss in a pair of these great speakers, and you have a complete system that will outperform systems costing hundreds if not thousands more, and that are much uglier as well. As for sound, the 125se provides great clarity, separation, and depth of sound stage. Many pieces I've listened to for years revealed new subtleties, especially dense orchestral and percussion passages, The 125se is a great 21st century digital music.solution.
Pros: High quality multi-functionality in one small, very attractive package.
Cons: I'm not aware of any.

Overview: The Peachtree Audio Nova125SE combines a high-performance, high-resolution digital-to-analog converter (DAC), a class-A preamplifier with built-in tube buffer, a high-quality headphone amplifier and a strong, yet flexible, power amplifiers that is capable of driving virtually any loudspeaker with ease and authority. Its combination of high output power, transparent sound, and digital and analog connectivity make it simple to enjoy all of your music with uncompromising sound quality. With five inputs, including a 24-bit/192kHz Asynchronous USB input you can enjoy computer and streaming audio with incredible high-fidelity sound.
Note: The wood cabinet is sourced from sustainable resources and is available in three premium finishes; rosewood, high-gloss black, and cherry. The front-panel is made from 6mm thick bead blasted aluminum with a soft cool gray finish.
Powerful Amplification: Peachtree amplifiers are rated "all-channels-driven" from 20Hz to 20kHz (full bandwidth of human hearing) to provide "real world" power ratings. Featuring an amplifier that delivers up to 125 watts per channel (8Ω) or 200 watts per channel (4Ω), the nova125SE is the perfect partner for efficient speakers, near-field desktop systems, and for listeners that value quality over quantity of sound.
Discrete Class-A Preamp: The novaSE discrete Class-A preamp output stage combines the musicality of Class-A design with the muscle of Class-D amplification. Signal paths in the novaSE have been made shorter to lower noise and improve transients. The DAC's power supply has also been upgraded with new low-ESR capacitors. The sound is smoother and has improved focus, imaging, and bass definition. Dynamics and micro-detail are greatly improved so you can hear more of what's embedded in the recording.
Selectable Triode Tube Buffer: The nova125SE includes Peachtree's signature triode tube buffer to soften bright recordings and create a more natural sound. The tube buffer can be engaged or bypassed on the fly with a simple button press on the included remote control, allowing you to listen in either pure solid state or tube mode. A Russian 6N1P military tube (6DJ8 variant) was specifically chosen for its consistent reliability and will provide years (average 10,000 hours) of enjoyment. The tube is user replaceable and replacements are readily available.
High-Resolution 24-Bit/192kHz DAC: The Peachtree Audio Nova125SE features an onboard ESS Sabre upsampling DAC (Digital-to-Analog converter). The 24-bit/192kHz upsampling D/A converter transforms just about any digital source to the performance of a high-end CD player. Using a patented process called Hyperstream, the ESS Sabre DAC buffers the incoming digital bitstream and reclocks it from thousands of picoseconds of jitter to less than 3 picoseconds, before passing it through a high-resolution 24-bit/192kHz upsampling processor, which is also capable of 100dB s/n ratio.
Galvanic Isolation: Galvanic Isolation blocks electrical noise from all of the digital inputs on the Nova125SE. Computers and digital streamers are prime sources of electrical noise. Electrical noise, even noise that you can't hear directly, masks fine details and distorts the tone of music. Galvanic isolation eliminates this noise.
24-Bit/192kHz Asynchronous USB Input: The Nova125SE has a 24-bit/192kHz Asynchronous USB (type-B) input to connect your computer. The unit's USB (type-B) connection will take digital audio content from your computer and send it to the internal DAC of the Nova125SE via I2S configuration. Using the Nova125SE, you can take a pure digital audio signal from iTunes, Windows Media, or any other music management system on your computer before it goes through a sound card. Just hook up a 2.0 USB cable between your computer and the Nova125SE's USB (type-B) port; no sound card is required.
- System Requirements: The Nova125SE supports Mac computers with OSX 10.6.5 or newer and Windows PC with XP, 7, or 8. Windows PCs will require an additional USB audio driver for playback of 24-bit/192kHz music files (CD-ROM with Windows USB Audio Driver included).
- Compatible Music Files: The Nova 125 can decode MP3,WMA, FLAC, AIFF, WAV, and Apple lossless codecs; with resolutions of 16-bit/44.1kHz, 16-bit/48kHz, 24-bit/88kHz, 24-bit/96kHz, 24-bit/176kHz, and 24-bit/192kHz.
Optical & Coaxial Digital Inputs: The Nova125SE is equipped with two optical (toslink) and one coaxial (RCA) digital inputs for connecting external digital audio sources such as your Blu-ray/DVD player, cable/satellite box, or Apple TV. The optical digital inputs support up to 24-bit/96kHz, while the coaxial digital input supports up to 24-bit/192kHz.
Analog Input: The Nova125SE if fitted with a single stereo analog RCA input for connecting an external audio source, such as your SACD play, phono-preamp & turntable, network player, or AM/FM tuner.
Audiophile Headphone Amplifier: The Nova125SE has a "Class A, tube" headphone section. The Peachtree Audio Nova125SE utilizes a front-panel, 1/4" headphone input which mutes the speakers when headphones are plugged in.
- Output Power: 117mW into 32Ω or 182mW into 300Ω (0.1% THD)
- Output Impedance: 4.7Ω
- Frequency Response: 20Hz to 20kHz (+/- 0.1dB)
- THD+N: 0.006% (300Ω, 0dB, 1V in)
Binding-Post Speaker Terminals: The unit's binding-post speaker terminals are clearly marked red-positive and black-negative for proper polarity connections. The amplifier's binding-post speaker terminals will accommodate bare wire (up to 10AWG), banana plugs (single only), pin-connectors, and spade-connectors. Use speakers with a nominal impedance between 3-16Ω.
Pre-Out: The stereo RCA preamp-outputs allow you to use an external amplifier with the Nova125SE; they also provide connections for a powered subwoofer.
Remote Control: The Nova125SE comes supplied with an IR remote control which is easy to use. The remote control offers the same functions as the Nova125SE's front-panel controls, plus adds a mute button. The remote is powered by two "AAA" batteries (not supplied). The remote control IR sensor is located in the center of the Nova125SE's front-panel.
USB Charging Port: The rear-panel USB (type-A) charging port provides a 5-volt DC output for mobile devices that charge via USB. This USB port does support audio playback.
12V Trigger Output: The 12V trigger output (3.5mm) enables power on/off control of another component with a 12V trigger input.
