About the Peachtree Audio nova220SE
Far beyond ordinary
Far beyond ordinary
Massive power. Digital inputs with high-resolution capability. A glowing vacuum tube. Stunning looks. There's a lot to love about the Peachtree Audio nova220SE. Like all of their amplifiers, this beauty was born to deliver digital music with natural warmth, exquisite detail, and graceful ease. Connect your computer, your CD player, your Sonos CONNECT, an Apple TV, or another network music player. Then let this amp work its magic, delivering your music with ease while showing off the true potential of your speakers.
High-resolution DAC
If you haven't yet discovered high-resolution music, the nova220SE is bound to be an eye-opening starting point. The built-in ESS Sabre digital-to-analog converter is well-regarded in the audiophile community for its ability to reveal all the details in digital high-res files — up to 24-bit/192kHz resolution. The DAC even upsamples CD-quality files as well as MP3s, to make them sound their absolute best. ESS Technology's Hyperstream Modulator eliminates the timing errors associated with digital conversion, known as jitter, for clean, accurate playback of all your digital music.
The nova220SE's glowing vaccuum tube buffer adds warmth to digital music.
Add a little warmth
Nothing warms the hearts of true-blue audiophiles like a glowing vacuum tube. And nothing is better at warming up digital music than the nova220SE's triode tube buffer. When you engage it, you'll see it light up blue through the front panel window and hear how it softens the edges of digital tunes for a more analog sound. If the tube sound doesn't do it for you, switch it off and run the amp in pure solid state mode.
Innovative amplifier design
The nova220SE offers chest-thumping power by combining discrete Class A preamps with a Class D power amplifier. Peachtree borrowed the preamp design from their flagship Grand Series. It delivers a balanced signal to the power amp to ensure purity and accuracy. The power amp is highly efficient, eliminating the need for noisy fans or bulky heat sinks. Once you hear how effortlessly the nova220SE drives your speakers, you'll understand why Peachtree Audio has quickly become a respected audio innovator.
Best in show
Most amplifiers are pretty utilitarian when it comes to their appearance. That's a nice way of saying they aren't much to look at. But the nova220SE is simply gorgeous. From the engraving on the aluminum front panel to the high-gloss wood cabinet, this amp oozes luxury and style. The glowing blue lights of the power and source indicators, as well as the engaged tube buffer, are sure to bring a smile to anyone looking for more aesthetic value than most audio gear can deliver.

Integrated Amplifier
Overview: The Peachtree Audio Nova 220SE combines a high-performance, high-resolution digital-to-analog converter (DAC), a class-A preamplifier with built-in tube buffer, a high-quality headphone amplifier, and a strong yet flexible, power amplifier that is capable of driving virtually any loudspeaker with ease and authority. The Nova 220SE offers digital and analog inputs, including a USB input for your computer.
220W x 2Ch Amplifier: Peachtree amplifiers are rated "all channels driven from 20Hz to 20kHz (full bandwidth of human hearing) to provide real world power ratings. Featuring a rock-solid amplifier that delivers up to 220 watts per channel (8Ω) or 350 watts per channel (4Ω), the Nova 220SE has power to spare. The amp in the Nova 2200SE is twice as energy efficient as traditional amplifier technologies, leaving no need for expensive heatsinks or noisy fans that add unnecessary bulk and cost. Whether you enjoy your music at low volumes or want to feel every note, the Nova 220SE provides the power and headroom needed to appreciate your music's full dynamic range.
24-Bit/192kHz DAC: The Nova 200SE has a built-in 24-bit/192kHz upsampling DAC. Using ESS Technology's patented Hyperstream Modulator, the DAC in the Nova 220SE is capable of 100% jitter rejection for maximum fidelity. Any digital source, from an old CD player to a computer to a streamer such as Sonos or AppleTV, can be instantly upgraded. Even compressed audio files sound shockingly good when run through the Peachtree's DAC, so you can maximize the fun of streaming music from Pandora or concerts on YouTube. Lossless "studio master" 24-bit files can be played back with sound quality above and beyond standard CD-Audio.
Class A Preamp: The Nova 220SE's discrete Class A preamp reproduces clearer micro-detail, decay and texture, which makes listening to your favorite music even more immersive. Because every signal is routed through the preamp it is a critical part of the signal path. The Nova 220SE benefits from trickle down technology by using the discrete Class A preamp stage found in Peachtree's top-of-the-line Grand Series. The preamp delivers a balanced signal to the internal amplifier for the highest quality possible.
Tube Buffer: The Nova 220SE includes Peachtree's signature triode tube buffer to soften bright recordings and create a more natural sound. The tube buffer can be engaged or bypassed on the fly with a simple button press on the included remote control, allowing you to listen in either pure solid state or tube mode. A Russian 6N1P military tube (6922 variant) specifically chosen for its consistent reliability is installed and will provide years (average 10,000 hours) of enjoyment. The tube is user replaceable and replacements are readily available.
Headphone Amp: More than just a headphone jack, the Nova 220SE includes a dedicated headphone amp to deliver 10x more power than what you get out of your smartphone or computer. Delivering over 1,000mW of power, ultra low distortion, and low output impedance - your headphones will sound better than ever.
Aluminum Front-Panel w/ Tube Window: The front panel is crafted from thick 6mm brushed aluminum with engraved logos and input labels so they'll never wear off. A glass window gives a view of the triode tube, which is illuminated by a blue LED when engaged.
Audio Connections
24-bit/192kHz Asynchronous USB Input: The Nova 220SE has a 24-bit/192kHz Asynchronous USB (type-B) input to connect your computer (Windows or Mac). Anyone thinking of moving from a multi channel pre-pro system or a better two channel system should consider this unit. Its DAC makes streaming music a dream and for your TV, sound is great--though I think you need to have two good speakers. Set up is a breeze and it works with my harmony remote!
