About the Peachtree Audio sonaAMP
Stylish, compact, and powerful
Stylish, compact, and powerful
Pair the Peachtree sonaAMP with the optional sonaDAC preamp (top) to create the foundation of a formidable compact stereo sound system.
Peachtree Audio's compact-but-mighty sonaAMP delivers plenty of clean, muscular amplification to drive a high-quality two-channel sound system. It kicks out 150 watts per channel into eight ohms, and can double its output at four ohms to deliver a rafter-rattling 300 watts per side. That's enough power to push most speakers with ease, and it's ideal for today's high-end speakers, which often run closer to four ohms than eight. You'll experience effortless dynamics, transparent mids and highs, and deep powerful bass that's certain to keep your toes tapping.
Cool, quiet operation
Unlike many amplifiers that generate lots of heat, the sonaAMP's high-efficiency design allows it to run surprisingly cool, even under heavy loads. No fans or heatsinks are required on this beauty, so all you get is cool, quiet power.

Features
Stereo Amplifier: The Peachtree Audio sonaAMP features an impressive 150 watts-per-channel stereo amplifier that easily drives any speaker with impedances as low as 2.5Ω and as high as 16Ω. Its fully-balanced & dual-differential design delivers wide bandwidth and low-noise for exceptional sonic purity, ensuring that your loudspeakers are driven to their full potential.
Note: Peachtree Audio's sonaDAC (731SONADAC, sold separately) is the perfect companion to the sonaAMP.
Latest Generation Amplifier Technology: At the heart of the sonaAMP is the latest generation of amplifier technology from ICE power, which includes patented HCOM modulation and control techniques, to a class-A input buffer stage to drive the amplifier circuits - resulting in excellent audio performance.
Highly Efficient & Compact: The amplifier is approximately 80% efficient so the majority of the energy it consumes goes towards driving your speakers rather than heat. This allows this stereo amplifier to be much smaller and lighter than typical analog amplifier designs that require fans or massive heat sinks to dissipate the unused energy as heat.
Balanced & Unbalanced Inputs: The Peachtree Audio sonaAMP stereo amplifier is fitted with a set of balanced XLR and unbalanced RCA inputs. There is an "Input Select" switch on the rear-panel of the amplifier which lets you indicate which connector type you are using. Signals on the XLR inputs remain balanced all the way through the amplifier. Balanced connectivity helps minimize any unwanted noise from the audio circuits and ensure the cleanest signal path. Unbalanced inputs are converted to balanced signals immediately after the input.
Binding Post Speaker Terminals: The Peachtree Audio sonaAMP is fitted with four heavy-duty, gold-plated binding-post speaker terminals to connect your left and right speakers. The binding-post speaker terminals can accept bare wire (up to 10AWG), banana-plugs (single only), spade-connectors, and pin-connectors. The unit's binding-post speaker terminals are clearly marked red-positive and black-negative for proper polarity connections.
12V Trigger Input: The sonaAMP features a 12-volt trigger input (3.5mm) allowing it to be turned on/off automatically by the Peachtree sonaDAC (sold separately) or other preamps that have trigger outputs.
AC Power: The three-prong AC input on the rear-panel of the stereo amplifier accepts the included 5' detachable AC power cord.
Protection Circuitry: The sonaAMP has built-in thermal/distortion detection and will shut down if the amplifier starts to overheat or there is a short-circuit.
