Our take on the Peachtree Audio T1

Peachtree Audio

High-res audio

Add a high-res USB connection to your home theater receiver or DAC

Want to play music files from your computer through your home theater receiver? Got a great-sounding DAC (digital-to-analog converter) without a USB input, or one that can't handle today's high-resolution digital downloads? Then check out Peachtree Audio's T1 USB-to-S/PDIF adapter. The T1 isn't a DAC; it's a precision-built component that takes a USB output from your PC and converts it into a pristine coaxial digital signal that you can easily plug into your favorite outboard DAC or home theater receiver. And because it allows your DAC to receive data streams up to 96kHz/24-bit resolution from your computer, you can enjoy truly high-end, better-than-CD audio quality.

Features

USB/SPDIF Converter: The Peachtree Audio T1 converts the USB audio output from your Windows/Mac laptop or computer to S/PDIF coaxial digital audio in order to connect to an external DAC or your home theater receiver. Now, you can listen to your favorite digital music files stored on your computer through your existing home entertainment system (all it needs is a coaxial digital input).

24-bit/96kHz Resolution: The Peachtree Audio T1 accepts up to 24-bit/96kHz sampled audio files for playback of high-resolution music. Compatible sampling rates include; 32kHz, 44.1kHz, 48kHz, or 96kHz There is no up-conversion.

Windows/Mac Compatible: The Peachtree Audio T1 is supported by Windows 2000, XP, and 7; plus Mac OS X.

Connections: The Peachtree Audio T1 is fitted with a USB (type-B) port which connects to your computer or laptop (Windows/Mac compatible). The other end of the T1 is fitted with a S/PDIF coaxial (RCA) digital output, used to connect your outboard DAC or home theater receiver. Cables sold separately.

  • Adaptive Mode USB: The T1 uses adaptive mode USB that relies on your computer to control the flow of data streaming from the USB port.
  • Transformer Coupled Digital Output: A pulse transformer on the T1's digital output isolates electrical noise so only the pure digital bitstream is fed to your DAC or home theater receiver for noticeably quieter backgrounds.

Power Requirements: The Peachtree Audio T1 is powered by your computer's USB (type-A) port. No outboard power supply required.

Great product

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

We have a older Harmon Karden sound system with sub woofer. Because of Windows XP we had to obtain a new computer w/windows 8 and the new one did not have the RCA tie ins for this the sound system that created that great sound we love. New computer had several USB ports available and I thought there might be a device available that would plug in to the USB and convert the data available into what my stereo needed. At first I looked around to various places and none of them had any idea what I was talking about much less have anything. Then I saw my Crutchfield catalog a thought if anyone would have one and know about them it would be them. Once again I was right. I also knew that any product provided by them would be a quality item. Thank you for your superior products and tech help.
Pros:
Easy to install

1 question already asked

will this make my new dell computer play out thru my pioneer receiver l-r rear / l-r front / center/ subwoofer speakers? [ Don  Apr 16, 2014 ]
2 answers
  • Hi Krissy, all my audio is 16 bit 44.1kz .All my prior pc's will play audio thru my Pioneer 921 vsk. They play out all connected speakers front pair, rear pair, center and subwoofer(powered (Klipsch). My Pioneer will play back everything connected to it = dvd b-ray even Sansa Fuse mp3 player..However even using the same analog Rca cable as I have used before the Dell Inspiron (with Realtech HD 5.1 sound card ) will not...Dell won't admit it is their sound card. My theory being by bypassing the Dell sound card I can be back in buisiness..Will this work ? [ Don   Apr 20, 2014 ]
  • I forwarded your question to an Advisor and they responded with the following: That unit will allow for high quality audio to be streamed from your PC to your surround sound system but the number of speakers that play will depend on the source that is playing and if it is encoded to play in stereo or in a surround sound setup. If you would like to discuss further you can contact an Advisor directly by phone (1-800-324-9695) or online chat. [ Krissy Staff  Apr 20, 2014 ]
