About the Energy RC-6W
The Energy RC-6W in-wall speaker is an outstanding choice for anyone building a décor-friendly home audio system. This speaker's versatile design makes it perfect to use for the left, right and center channels of a home theater. But the RC-6W has musical talents as well. Its diagonally oriented tweeter/midrange array allows the speaker to be installed either horizontally or vertically to match your wall space. You'll get room-filling sound, too, because Energy designed the RC-6W for wide dispersion. You'll hear the intricate details in your favorite songs from nearly any seat in the room. You'll find yourself immersed in movie soundtracks, able to hear every whisper of dialogue and each roll of thunder. And you can even paint the included grille to match your room perfectly.

Driver Technology
3-Way Speaker Design: The Energy Reference Connoisseur RC-6W in-wall speaker employs a 3-way driver design for crystal-clear highs, detailed midrange, and deep bass.
- Tweeter: The 1" aluminum dome tweeter incorporate an integrated wave-guide.
- Midrange: The 2" chambered aluminum midrange features inverted dome design.
- Woofer: The 6-1/2" Kevlar cone woofer uses a ribbed elliptical surround.
Surround: The woofer uses a patented Ribbed Elliptical Surround; by changing the shape of the speaker surround to an ellipse, rather than the traditional half roll, distortion is reduced and the maximum excursion is increased.
High Frequency EQ: A switch on the RC-6W's frame (behind the grille) allows you to contour the high frequency output. The Cut position reduces the output by 2 dB from 2 kHz to 20 kHz, useful when the speaker is mounted in a very reflective room.
Break-In Period: ENERGY recommends that you play the RC-6W for a 100 hour break-in period before playing at high volume and making final sound adjustments. This is easily done by putting your compact disc player on repeat mode while playing a CD with a wide dynamic range ant normal listening levels.
Connections
Speaker Terminals: The speaker has a pair of spring posts that can accept, pin connectors, single or dual banana plugs, or bare wire up to 12-gauge wire.
Mounting Options
Installation: The speaker can be installed in new or existing construction; it requires a cutout diameter of 9.75" x 13.0625" and is held in place with six integral plastic mounting ears. The required depth to install the speaker is 3.75" from the mounting surface (this includes the thickness of the drywall). Speakers should be installed in drywall at least 3/8" thick. A cardboard template is included to assist you in making the cutout.
Paintable: Both the plastic frame and aluminum grille can be painted to match the ceiling; a cardboard paint mask is included.
