A super simplistic preamplifier that will part your hair!
Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)
I had been using an old Denon home theater receiver as a preamplifier for my tube amplifier. It had numerous analog inputs and, of course, a preamplifier out put and it did a good job but when I updated my turntable the new cartridge was bright. Bypassing the preamplifier with my CD told me some of my brightness was in the preamplifier. The NAD has ample inputs, is simple, has both MM and MC phono inputs what have settings to each to pair with practically any phono cartridge and gives you exactly what you input. The tone controls help modify those recording that are of poor quality. This is a great component and no one is making anything similar, anymore... Wonderful component! If you in the market for a preamp, better get this one while its available.
Pros: Great sound, simple layout and both MM and MC inputs with adjustments for each
Cons: Status lights are not easily seen at a distance and motorized volume control is touchy.
