The NAD C 545BEE will put a smile on your face and get your toes tapping. This CD player delivers exceptionally clear, spacious sound with excellent low-frequency response, thanks to its carefully optimized circuit layout and high-quality internal components. A beefy toroidal transformer supplies a steady stream of power for lively performance and musicality. The power supply features separate regulators for the analog and digital circuits, isolating them electronically to minimize interference. And a high-resolution Wolfson digital-to-analog converter helps this player deliver refined musical sound that'll make you want to explore your CD collection all over again.

You'll enjoy playback from a variety of discs, ranging from regular CDs to home-burned CD-Rs filled with MP3 and WMA files. If your CD library includes albums with CD Text, the C 545BEE can show information such as song titles directly on its front-panel display. The full-function remote gives you command of the basics like "play" and "stop," plus access to repeat, random, and program modes from the comfort of your favorite chair.

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Compared to an older Yamaha CDX-480 and a new Yamaha CD-S700, the NAD C545BEE produces cleaner hi tones and more distinguishable bass.

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

My hearing is not good enough for me to assert that this CD player is dramatically better than the less expensive one that it replaced. If pressed, I would say that perhaps the sound is a bit rounder and less harsh at the top end. The player makes no mechanical noise when playing, unlike the one it replaced. The player matches my NAD 355 BEE amplifier, and I am happy that I can use the amplifier's remote to also control the CD player. My only complaint is that the display is too small. I can't read it from 10 feet away. Hence 4 stars.

Pros: Good match for NAD amplifier.

Cons: Display too small.

Totally worth it.

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

After having gone through two Denon 5-disc changers, the time had come to return to a single disc player. There were just too many mechanical issues with multi-disc players, even though the Denons did sound great. This NAD was a great choice, both mechanically and sonically. I actually had my eye on the model below this one, the C515BEE, But when Crutchfield was out of stock, I decided to spring for a little more and get this. It is a great player, quite possibly the best i've owned since CDs were first introduced. And the fact that this can play MP3 discs rather negates the need for a multi-disc changer. Since I have a NAD integrated amp (my trusty C360), I was very familiar with their design aesthetic and attention to quality. You will not be disappointed by the C545BEE. Kudos to NAD once again, and to Crutchfield for a smooth transaction.

Pros: Great sounding, very simple to use, great remote control unit.

Cons: None that I have found.

Outstanding performance and value

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I wanted to replace an older Cambridge Audio Azur and was between this model and the Marantz CD6004. I did tons of reading, and as typical today, couldn't find a place to demo either of them so I had to rely on the reading. Reviews on both models were stellar for the intro/mid-range point. I was leaning towards the Marantz when this one went on sale. I jumped on it and am more than impressed. If you pair this player with a good system you will be highly impressed. NAD knows music and it shows here. My CD's have never sounded so good. I don't think that you could get better performance in the sub $500 price point.

Pros: Simple, clean, high end look. Top notch music reproduction. Great value.

Cons: None, buy it.
