About the Furman SS-6B

Steve Kindig
Think of Furman's SS-6B as an inexpensive insurance policy for your equipment. With your gear plugged into its six snug-gripping outlets, the SS-6B will protect your setup from harmful AC power spikes and fluctuations. It also filters out the RF (radio frequency) and electromagnetic interference that can add noise.

The SS-6B's heavy duty metal construction can withstand the rigors of professional stage use. It has an illuminated on/off/reset switch and a built-in circuit breaker. A red LED on the top of the power strip indicates that the circuit breaker has tripped and the unit has protected the connected equipment.

The beefy 14-gauge power cord is 15 feet long, so you won't have to always hunt around for a nearby outlet or mess with extension cords. The wide footprint makes this suppressor great for live sound — it won't tip over on stage like skinnier strips sometimes do.

The LED protection indicator light is red when first plugged in and still is. Is the surge protector working properly? We bought two and they are both that way.

I believe the light is supposed to stay on while it is "protecting". Sort of like the opposite of the check engine light in your car. Light on means protection on!

brigid  Apr 24, 2019
A
No, only 110-115v.
richard  Apr 23, 2019
A
Yes. My hair clipper charger needs that amount of energy to convert it to 6V, etc.
jacoub  Apr 23, 2019
A
This model is only rated for 120V at 60Hz. Furman does make some units that will work up to 240V and convert it to 120 but they are much larger unit. The hardware needed to do so simply isn't in this surge protector
