Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)
I have a lot to say, but brevity is required. I have been an audiophile since the early 1970s... Spent obscene amounts of money on high-fidelity gear over the years. These PSB Image T6s are not just a taste of high-end - these are true high-end audio speakers at an amazingly affordable price! (I would gladly compare these to many MUCH more expensive speakers I have heard over the years.) I cannot stress enough how important break-in time is to really get the best from these PSBs. At first listen, I thought they sounded a bit thin in the lower midrange (confirmed by my SPL meter/test disc from Stereophile magazine: there was a 5-6 dB suck-out centered at approx. 315 Hz) - and "hot" on top. After ~ 45 hours of use w moderate to somewhat loud music of all kinds, these traits had disappeared. (This might explain why some reviewers have said that the T6s don't sound quite right in the mids with rock music - break-in is crucial!) The Image T6s throw a remarkable soundstage, extending some six feet outside of each cabinet, with remarkable depth and a three-dimensional quality that is breath-taking! The low end is deep, solid and musical, blending beautifully into the transparent, nuanced mids and highs - the PSBs "disappear" into the music, to where the speakers as point-sources are invisible. You can hear "into" music. This is high-end, folks! The PSB Image T6s are highly recommended! Value for dollar spent is unmatched. Kudos to Paul Barton. Another masterpiece!
