Crisp dialogue that draws you into your movies and TV shows
PSB's Synchrony Two C the detail and clarity that you need for exceptional home theater performance. Despite its compact size, this center channel speaker can hold its own with the floor-standing models in PSB's Synchrony family. Your eyes will appreciate this speaker's simple, sophisticated looks, and your ears will appreciate PSB's precise driver design.
Great sound begins with quality driver materials
The Synchrony Two C features a two-way design using the same drivers as the Synchrony Two floor-standing speaker, but in a dual-woofer, horizontal layout. The 1" titanium dome tweeter is carefully crafted to produce smooth, accurate highs free from distortion and grain. The woofer cones are made of fine-weave fiberglass, which creates stiff, self-damping cones. You'll hear exceptionally clean mids with excellent detail and tonal accuracy, plus impressive bass response. Extra-large voice coils and virtually distortion-free motor structures help preserve clarity and detail. Plus the rigid, cast aluminum baskets are magnetically inert for maximum efficiency.
Top-notch crossover ensures optimal sound dispersion
PSB's years of design experience and tireless testing at the National Research Council in Canada have led to a superior crossover design. The high-quality components are carefully picked to create the fourth-order crossovers that go into Synchrony speakers. Meticulous engineering ensures minimal driver overlap, with precisely chosen crossover points to maintain proper dispersion. The result is a smooth frequency response over a wide "sweet-spot."
A solid cabinet with a luxurious, real-wood veneer finish
The Synchrony Two C's heavy, rigid cabinet helps eliminate vibrations to maintain the speaker's natural sound. The double-walled aluminum front and back cabinet surfaces hold the curved side panels in place. Each side panel is constructed using seven layers of MDF, each one individually laminated to improve the panel's stiffness and absorb sonic energy that might otherwise color the sound. The top and side panels are clad in real wood veneer that's hand selected for its beauty and quality.

Your home theater's most important speaker
The center channel speaker is the workhorse in a home theater system. It has to reproduce clear dialogue and special effects that keep your eyes and ears glued to the movie action. A high-quality center speaker is a great investment for any surround sound setup. Try to choose one that's as closely matched as possible to your front right and left speakers, so that as sound moves across the front stage, it stays seamlessly realistic.
PSB Synchrony Two C Reviews
Average Customer Review:
Great Speaker for the Price and for limited space
Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)
I did a direct comparison of the Synchrony Ones and Twos and while they were fairly the Ones had a richer sound and more bass. Both are great and if you have limited room or budget the twos are great but if you have the room and budget the Ones edge out over the twos.
Pros: Excellent sound for a ridiculously low price
Cons: None - a great bargain
After a lot of listening and reading reviews, I had pretty much decided to get the PSB Imagine T2, C and Minis as an upgrade in my living room -- but then the Synchrony 2 series closeout sale caught my interest & added another option. In the end, the towers were basically a wash for me, some minor pros and cons for each, but I liked them both and could have gone either way very comfortably. But this center speaker sealed the deal for the Synchrony 2 option. The clarity, richness and fullness of sound is remarkable, and the build quality is superb. It's small compared to a lot of competitors, but it packs a big punch when the source content requires it.
This replaced a Def Tech CLR2002 center, which I liked a lot and always thought was very underrated. But it took me just a few minutes with the Synchrony 2 C to realize the difference between very good and exceptional.
My system includes an NAD T787 AVR, NAD 565BEE CD Player, Oppo 93 BR Player, and Marantz NA7004 Network Player. I just use the center for cable TV and Movies. When presented with high quality source content and electronics, this speaker really shines.
I have the C set as small and crossed over at 70Hz (PSB 300 subs), and don't use the port plug. I haven't tried bi-wiring them yet.
The Synchrony line needs a significant amount of very clean power to sound their best. These are very high quality speakers, and I highly recommend them.
Pros: Clarity, rich and full sound, looks great, small footprint, can handle whatever source content is thrown its way, seamless blending with Synchrony 2 towers
Cons: Grill design

Cone Design: The two woofer cones are a laminated sandwich design; each has a fine weave fiberglass layer along with a compressed, felted natural fiber laminate. The result is a rigid cone with added damping properties. The central dustcap offers a second connection to the voice coil to improve bass and midrange control. The inherent distortion resulting from the magnetic field generated by the input signal reacting with the field in the magnetic structure's air gap and the self-induction and impedance that varies with cone movement are addressed using an aluminum shorting ring within the magnet structure, an aluminum phase plug on the pole piece, and a shorted copper turn on top of the pole piece. The aluminum phase plug also mechanically smoothes the response and acts as a heat sink for the voice coil, reducing power compression. The drivers use cast aluminum baskets and rubber surrounds.
Tweeter: The 1" titanium, Ferrofluid cooled dome tweeter has a neodymium motor structure and an aluminum heat sink. The mass (low) and stiffness (high) are optimized for the required wide frequency response.
Crossover Network: The crossover is a 2-way acoustical fourth order Linkwitz-Riley type with a 24 dB/octave slope. Tight tolerances were used when choosing the crossover components; heavy multi-laminated iron cores are used for large value inductors, high gauge wire air core inductors are used for medium and small values, all the capacitors are low loss and film capacitors are used for the midrange and treble frequencies.
Cabinet: The cabinet is an integral part of speaker design and has a dramatic effect on the overall sound of a speaker. PSB uses a combination of aluminum and wood in the Synchrony Two C's construction. The front baffle and rear panel are made of double wall aluminum extrusions. The aluminum panels are very rigid and precisely machined with contours to preserve the sonic characteristics of the drivers. The top and bottom panels are seven layers of 3mm MDF, curved for added stiffness, with a wood veneer exterior. While rigid, MDF also has inherent damping properties to absorb energy that might otherwise color the music.
Dual Binding Posts: The dual binding post input terminals are located on the back of the speaker cabinet. The two sets of binding posts are shorted together by a gold-plated jumper. With the jumper removed the Synchrony Two C can be bi-wired or bi-amplified. The binding posts will accept spade connectors, single banana plugs, pin connectors, and bare wire up to 8 gauge.
