Product reviews from the Crutchfield Labs

Great choice for beginners

Written by Ralph Graves, Staff Writer - Creative, on 2/24/2012 11:26:00 AM

I'm just getting into digital cameras. My gear collection is expanding, and it's past time to consolidate it all into a dedicated camera bag — like the Event Messenger 150. This is a well-made bag that should hold up to the abuse my carry-alls and backpacks are normally subjected to. I've owned a few that haven't, and so I know what to look for in construction and materials.

I like the double closure feature. If I'm going to using my gear, the Velcro strap is fine. But for traveling, I can use the buckle to secure the flap in place. Of course there's lots of pockets for all kinds of stuff — including one for a tablet. I don't have one of those yet, but this helps make the case...
