The system's plug-in transmitter turns your Apple® mobile device into a wireless music streamer that plays through your home audio system.

Stream digital audio through your sound system — wirelessly

Wouldn't it be great if there was an easy way to take all of the music that you enjoy on your iPod®, iPhone®, or iPad® and send it to your home audio system without the hassle of wires? And have it sound fantastic? Now there is. NuForce's Air DAC iWireless System offers a simple solution that turns your Apple® portable device into a high-quality audio source.

Anything that you can listen to on your player can be digitally transmitted to your existing home theater receiver, stereo amplifier, or even a pair of powered speakers. This two-piece system features interference-free, point-to-point wireless technology that delivers full-bandwidth audio from your player to give you exceptional sound quality. And because it's a stand-alone wireless system, you don't need a Wi-Fi® network to use it.

RCA output

Simple RCA connections let you plug the Air DAC receiver directly into your hi-fi system or powered speakers.

Simple to set up, easy to use

Right out of the box, the Air DAC iWireless System is ready to play in just moments. Simply plug the included iTX wireless transmitter dongle into your Apple mobile device's dock/charging port. The transmitter sends a digital audio signal from your player directly to the receiver module, where it's converted into sound by a high-quality DAC and sent as an analog music signal to your stereo amplifier for playback. Each Air DAC transmitter can send audio to as many as four independent receivers (sold separately), so you can play your tunes through multiple audio components.

Turn 1s and 0s into sweet sounding music

Why buy a separate DAC? These devices are all about getting true high-fidelity sound from digital sources like computers, streaming music players, smartphones, and more. While these kinds of sources usually have their own digital-to-analog converters built in, you can expect a separate DAC to give you much better accuracy and finer detail.

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

This is a totally sweet product. simple to hook up , works well and sounds very good. the range is somewhat limited and don't get it near a micro wave, but other than those two things , it is really convenient to use. It basically turns your iPod into a remote and dac at the same time.

Pros: easy and convenient

Cons: limited range and some interference issues

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

This DAC allows you to have your iPod on your lap while listening to its contents thru any soundock with an AUX input at a wireless distance. I have used it with Bose Soundock and other similar devices and appreciate the fact that this transmit in digital format from the iPod to the NuForce receiver and i have percieved a clearer and more detailed sound than if I connected the iPod directly to the AUX port of the soundock... Great for convenience of not having to walk over to change your music choice.

Pros: Charges the iPod thru a supplied USB wire.

Works as advertised.

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I needed a way to connect the Audioengine A5 speakers I purchased for my kitchen. My issue is the speakers are on top of my cabinets. I wanted to be able to play music from my Apple products throughout my kitchen and dining room and not be tied down to a wired connection to the A5's. I called Crutchfield, talked to Tyler, he was great. Tyler recommended the Nuforce DAC iWireless. I was a little skeptical because of a previous review. I decided to go for it. I ordered and had it at my home the next day. Hooked it up and had it ready to go in about 60 seconds. Works great, I am very happy.

Thank you Crutchfield and Tyler.

Pros: Easy setup, good quality, better sound from the DAC.

Cons: The product spec say the range is 30-60 feet. Maybe outside but in a home you should count on 20-30 feet max. Still works through one wall and around a corner wall.

Big disappointment!

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I have tried many wireless transmitter options for streaming my iphone/laptop music to speakers around the house.... everything else I have tried is better than this product! Regular bluetooth that your laptop/mobile phone ALREADY has built in works better than this whole setup/attachment. The Belkin and Logitech bluetooth transmitters outperformed this product!! I tried many distance's (line of sight/no walls blocking and the signal would cut out at 15-20ft!!! Belkin/Logitech bluetooth can do 30-40ft in my house with 1 wall in between.

Pros: nice packaging?

Cons: Whatever "new" technology nuforce is using is NOT as good as my iphone 4s bluetooth + belkin/logitech bluetooth transmitter. Waited for a while for this product and really regret it! Probably going to try SONOS$$$ now!

Product Research

Overview: The NuForce Air DAC is a combination 2.4GHz wireless receiver and a premium quality digital-to-analog converter that uses SKAA & HPX technology. The NuForce Air DAC lets you stream music from your Apple iPod, iPhone, or iPad using the included NuForce iTX iPod wireless transmitter to your home entertainment system with CD-quality sound and minimal latency or interference. An optional NuForce uTX USB wireless transmitter (773UTX, sold separately) allows you to stream music from your Windows/Mac computer USB port. With SKAA & HPX technology you no longer have to choose between the convenience of a wireless audio system and the Hi-Fi CD-quality sound of a wired system; now you get both.

Discrete Wireless Connection: The NuForce Air DAC wireless DAC/receiver and the included iTX iPod wireless transmitter combine to form a wireless audio network; no WiFi "hotspot" needed for reception. A single transmitter can send audio to four receivers (773AIRDAC), while a single receiver can connect to as many as four transmitters (773ITX).

SKAA Wireless Technology: The NuForce Air DAC wireless DAC/receiver and iTX iPod transmitter are based on a new wireless technology known as SKAA. SKAA technology provides seamless operation and a consistent user interface across different SKAA devices, via 2.4GHZ wireless point-to-point transmission. Unlike similar wireless devices, the Air DAC and iTX iPod transmitter do not experience the typical loss in sound quality or interference capability of cell phones and other wireless devices. Rather, they offer CD-quality sound, virtually no latency, a 49-98' range, and a spread-spectrum technology that detects and chooses from among available frequency spectrums in order to avoid interference. Visit for more detailed information.

HPX Audio Codec: SKAA wireless Technology uses the HPX audio codec from Eleven Engineering Incorporated. The HPX audio codec has several advantages resulting in uncompressed, full-audio bandwidth (20-20k), CD-quality (16bit/48kHz) sound. With HPX audio compression technology, you will be unable to tell the difference between an uncompressed, wired audio source and the NuForce Air DAC system sending CD-quality sound across the SKAA (2.4GHZ) wireless link.

iPod/iPhone/iPad Compatibility: The NuForce iTX iPod wireless transmitter is compatible with iPod classic (80/120/160GB), iPod nano (1st/2nd/3rd/4th/5th/6th gen), iPod touch (1st/2nd/3rd/4th gen), iPhone (2G/3G/3GS/4/4S), and iPad (1/2). The iTX wireless iPod transmitter features a 30-pin dock connector which plugs into the dock connector of your iPod, iPhone, or iPad. The iTX transmitter also comes with a 41" USB charging cable which allows you to charge your iPod, iPhone, or iPad while the iTX transmitter is installed.

Analog RCA Outputs: The NuForce Air DAC wireless DAC/receiver is fitted with a set of stereo RCA analog audio outputs to connect to your home entertainment system (audio cables not included).

External Power Supply: The NuForce Air DAC operates off of standard household AC current using its included external power supply.

  • Input: 100-240V ~ 0.3A, 50-60Hz
  • Output: 6.5V - 0.6A

  • 16-bit/48kHz x 2 channels
  • SNR > 90dB A-weighted
  • Operates @ 2.4GHz
  • Latency < 13.8 ms
  • 49-98' wireless range
