Q
Can I hook a amp up to my factory radio?and if I can what amp would be good?
ronnie  Dec 24, 2023
1 answer
A
Greetings Ronnie. Thank you for your question. Factory radios do not have preamp outputs, but you can still add amplifiers to them. In some cases the aftermarket amplifier will have speaker level inputs, in cases they do not, you get a converter from speaker level to RCA. You can basically connect any aftermarket amplifier to a factory radio one way or another.

Assuming you already have an amp, you'll just need speaker wire. If you don't already have an amp, there's gonna be a lot more to it.

Q
How will this sub perform with a 150W RMS amp? I see that you guys recommend a 200W RMS amp. Will I be okay with the 150W? How will the sound quality be? How loud will it get? I'm just looking for deeper sounding bass, and a little more bump.

What amp should I use for this speaker set up?

I was told by crutchfield to match at least 75% of the RMS of a sub a couple years ago. With that said, running the Sound Ordnance M2100 with a bridged connection is what im using, and it works awesome.
