Materials: The Sound Ordnance B-24 is a pre-loaded bandpass-style enclosure
with dual 12" subwoofers. It is constructed of
5/8" MDF (medium-density fiberboard), covered in black carpet. It also
features dual clear acrylic front windows for viewing the subwoofers. The
subwoofers feature polypropylene cones with rubber surrounds, 2" voice coils,
and a heavy-gauge stamped steel basket.
Box Design: The enclosure has two separate sealed chambers
in front of each subwoofer, and a vented chamber behind both subwoofers. The
front-firing slot port is 2-13/16" wide and 13-1/2" high, and is centered
between the speakers. The box has a total of 2.9 cubic feet of airspace.
Terminals: The B-24 is equipped with a single set of spring-post speaker
terminals, mounted in the rear panel. The spring terminals will accept bare
wire, pin connectors, and single banana plugs, but are spaced too far apart for
dual banana plugs. Inside the enclosure, the two drivers are wired together to
present a 4-ohm load to the speaker terminals.
