Overview

Our take on the Sound Ordnance™ Bass Bunker

Sound Ordnance's rugged Bass Bunker enclosures come built to last and ready to help your sub deliver real low-frequency firepower. These unloaded boxes feature high-grade, medium-density fiberboard construction, with sealed inner braces that help combat resonance by reducing vibrations. Rounded outside corners and recessed panels allow them to fit into more vehicles, while tough black carpeting defends against incoming nicks and scratches. Bass Bunkers make a great solution when building your own box is not an option.

The BB102-75S sealed enclosure holds two 10" subwoofers and offers an internal volume of 0.76 cubic feet per chamber. Just add the right subs, amp, and wiring, then mount the enclosure securely, and you're ready to hit the road with some real bass artillery in your arsenal.

Warning: This enclosure does not include mounting hardware. If you're buying a sub from us, please check "What's in the Box?" to see if screws are included. If not, you should have an assortment of heavy-duty wood screws on hand for the installation.

Very well constructed Box. Quality is top notch. I have bought cheaper boxes in the past and the construction of the box was like the person didn't care. This is a very small box. You will probably have to fill with Poly-Fill.

Had a hard decision between sealed and ported with all the opinions out there. Crutchfield advisor said sealed was the way to go on the two Polk Audio DXI 104 Subs I purchased and I think he made a great suggestion! These thinks rock my 05 4runner!!!!!!!

Pros: Tight hard hitting Bass! Small Compact Box!!!!

Cons: None!!!!

Using with Polk Dxi104 subs. Box is constructed very well. Bass is tight and crisp. I drilled a hole between the chambers to allow wiring the subs in parallel inside the enclosure and sealed the hole with cauk.

Pros: Good Construction

Cons: none

well the box is nice but i have one problem with it, within the first few weeks of owning it the speaker wire terminal spring and cap popped off which is really disappointing if you ask me.

Pros: sealed, small, nice looking.

Cons: faulty terminal possibly on the outside

Seems nice pretty solid however doesn't exactly fit behind the back seat of a mega cab without removing stuff so prob won't end up using it.

Pros: It holds subwoofers

Cons: Doesn't correctly fit my attempted application

Sub Box with the Polk DXi 104

Works just like a box should work. Sale price made it a easy choice over building my own. Worked well with the Polk DXi subs.

Pros: Good box for the money,

Cons: nothing to complain about

Great Box for DXi104

Written by: Keith from Citrus Heights, CA on April 1, 2013

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

This box is inexpensive, especially with the package deal with the (2) Polk DXi104, but the build quality is great. It is hard to tell from the picture, but the slanted side of the box is the back which allows it to fit closer to the back seat and take up less room and makes the speakers vertical which I think looks nicer than having them sloped. The "nearly" black carpet is a nice color compared to other's that are more gray in color. The posts are great quality. I really like that the dimensions give it a small footprint for the volume. My only gripe is that the information didn't say that the wiring inside the box is bare so if your subs don't have spring terminals, you will need female blade connectors. CF should include them. Also, since this box is MDF, pre-drilling should be done so that the holes do not chip out. I would buy again even if this wasn't part of a package.

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

this box was an extremely good deal. i was looking for a box that would fit in my 86 regal (G-BODY) and this fits perfectly inbetween the back dash and upper part of the trunk bed i didnt think i was gunna beable to put 2 subs in my trunk without takeing up all my space but thanks to Crutchfield they made it happen with not only a good deal but very well built box has solid wood, internal supports, easy to use push terminals and its already wired with decently thick wire just poped the subs in and sounded great without any break in time great products have had em about a month with full break in time and subs are a louder and cleaner now would definetly recommend this box if it fits your sub specs. it might b a ordinary box 2 some people but for the quality of the build and the effort they put to use internal supports, push terminals, seal it well, already wired for subs and use (MDF) wood and even package the box with corner coushions for shipping. its alot moore than ordinary to me

Pros: solid build and auwsome features.

Cons: none

Decent box. Not crazy about the logo on the top right. Nice terminals on the back but they should be spaced further apart to allow easier amp mounting to back of box.

Pros: MDF not particle board. Internal bracing.

Cons: Ugly logo on front.

SO Sealed Bass Bunker

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Great product! The install was self-explanatory, depending on your woofer and amp set up. Like it says on the product description it does not come with hardware so make sure to get have some handy. The box itself is built well, the carpet is perfect, and with the extra beam supports it is very sturdy. However, the sealant used in the box was lacking slightly and I found a couple spots that were missed. I paired this box with two RF R1 10" woofers and a RF Punch 300w amp. It sounds great and the bass is tight and accurate.

Pros: Very sturdy, built well, carpet is perfect.

Cons: Sealant used in the box is lacking and very slight in some areas.

I just want to say that I always thought that Crutchfield was very expensive and really never thought about ordering anything from there. However, in the past year, I have purchased several items from you and have realized that, not only, do you have quality equipment, it is very comparable in price to other stores. Especially with the free shipping on many items. Thanks for making our new car a sweet ride with our new head unit, subwoofers, box and amp!

It's really a matter of personal preference Charles. Check out this comparison article in the Crutchfield Labs for more information on the specific differences: http://www.crutchfield.com/learn/sealed-or-ported-subwoofer-enclosures.html?search=sealed_subwoofer I hope that helps! Hi Charles, In my opinion, a sealed box would be more than enough punch for a pickup. I had a 1997 Dodge Ram extended cab with two 10" in a sealed custom fit box and it did the job plus some. From what I understand a ported box will give you better deep tones but it can also sound a bit muddy. A sealed box will give you more precise tones. I think you'd have a better experience and more than enough bang with a sealed box in a standard cab pickup. I hope this was helpful. [ Austin  Mar 21, 2016 ]
