Overview

Our take on the Sound Ordnance™ Bass Bunker

Sound Ordnance's rugged Bass Bunker enclosures come built to last and ready to help your sub deliver real low-frequency firepower. These unloaded boxes feature high-grade, medium-density fiberboard construction, with sealed inner braces that help combat resonance by reducing vibrations. Rounded outside corners and recessed panels allow them to fit into more vehicles, while tough black carpeting defends against incoming nicks and scratches. Bass Bunkers make a great solution when building your own box is not an option.

The BB10-75S sealed enclosure holds one 10" subwoofer and offers an internal volume of 0.76 cubic feet. Just add the right sub, amp, and wiring, then mount the enclosure securely, and you're ready to hit the road with some real bass artillery in your arsenal.

Warning: This enclosure does not include mounting hardware. If you're buying a sub from us, please check "What's in the Box?" to see if screws are included. If not, you should have an assortment of heavy-duty wood screws on hand for the installation.

I purchased this box along with a JL Audio 10W0v3-4 subwoofer and grill. I wasn't looking for window rattling, neighbor annoying, bass; just good clean, crisp lows and this box and sub combo has really fit the bill. I'm driving the sub with an Alpine PDX-V9

Box with Superior Quality

Wesley C from Louisville, KY on 9/13/2016

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

The subwoofer I chose to run in this box is an Alpine SWS 10D4. This box boasts superior quality compared to other boxes I've heard with the same subwoofer in them . The build is sound and sturdy, with ports for speaker wire very easy to get to. The material used, which is 5/8" MDF, Screws fit snuggly with no worries. There are also great spots for mounts if you plan on mounting it, which I have already done. I'm feeding this guy with an Alpine MRV M500.

Pros: Great build quality Outside port sturdy and easy to get to

Cons: None

Bass Bunker sealed box... Good deal.

Ima D Boss from fairless hills, PA on 2/28/2016

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

This was a sealed box for a 10" JL W1. Very well constructed and nicely carpeted. Quality connections. Well sealed and extra support beams inside. All wood connections were well sealed with silicon/glue. While this box was listed at .76 CF, but I was easily able to add some additional wood pieces inside to lessen the airspace.

Pros: Well built, good looking.

Cons: None, yet

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Great little box. Fits snug against my hatchbacks back seat back. (that's a lot of back!) Very well built, very durable and looks great. The terminals on the back of the box protrude just slightly, so keep this in mind when placing it on a surface that might get scratched when installing the driver/woofer.

Pros: Small, strong, well built

Cons: terminals protrude from back and could scratch surfaces when installing the driver/woofer

Bass Bunker Is Fantastic

tpmvabch from Virginia Beach, VA on 2/24/2014

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Solid enclosure. Very well made. The binding posts are easy to use and good quality. Bought this at the advice of a Crutchfield adviser an he was spot on with the recommendation. The unit sits in the back of a Nissan Xterra which is somewhat of a rough ride. No doubt this enclosure will hold up. You won't be disappointed.

Pros: Solid. Well made.

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

had a 10" MTX gathering dust and decided to put it to use. got the box from the outlet, a speaker had been put in previously, so there were already screw holes. luckily they matched my woofer. installed in 5 minutes and playing. works great, wish I had a better woofer, but a sub and box for this price is hard to beat! this box is well made and looks good. I like the binding posts, they are good quality.

Pros: easy sub box reasonable price good value good quality

Cons:

I was a bit worried at first that this box was only 5/8 thick, but once I hooked it up to a Polk db1040 and a boston 300 RMS amp it put my worries out the door. I am impressed with the quality and durability of this box. I highly recommend this unit for any style woofer, you will not be disappointed.

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I have been updating the sound system in my Sequoia over the last couple of months. Before I could get the sub box built, I scheduled a week long photo safari to Florida. I saw an add in a Crutchfield catalog for this series of pre-built cabinets. After talking to a helpful Chrutchfield advisor, I ordered this model. With free shipping, I got it in 2 days. The box is well built and nicely covered. It comes with a recessed connector cup installed that will accept several types of speaker wire terminations. It is doing the job very nicely, and I am greatly enjoying my new system on my trip. Thanks, Frank

Customer Q&A

Crutchfield asked
Why did you buy this?

based on customer reviews. [ teddy  Jul 26, 2016 ]
I bought this because this is one of the best pre-made boxes I have used. I had a rockford p2 10 in here and it sounded great. Now I am going to drop an Alpine Type S 10 in here. Can't wait! [ Danny  Jul 25, 2016 ]
It fit [ Christopher  Jan 03, 2016 ]

1 question already asked

Assuming the model number you've provided is accurate, the Rockford woofer is recommended for use in a vented (ported) enclosure of between 0.75 & 1.5 cubic feet of airspace. So, I wouldn't used the sealed box you've selected. The BB10-75V would be the better choice: http://www.crutchfield.com/p_777BB1075V/item.html The woofer should be a SVC 4 Ohm impedance and rated for 300 watts RMS so the R500X1D you've selected is a great match to power it.
