About the Sound Ordnance™ Bass Bunker

Dominic DeVito
Sound Ordnance's rugged Bass Bunker enclosures come built to last and ready to help your sub deliver real low-frequency firepower. These unloaded boxes feature high-grade, medium-density fiberboard construction, with sealed inner braces that help combat resonance by reducing vibrations. Rounded outside corners and recessed panels allow them to fit into more vehicles, while tough black carpeting defends against incoming nicks and scratches. Bass Bunkers make a great solution when building your own box is not an option.

The BB12-150V ported enclosure holds one 12" subwoofer and offers an internal volume of 1.60 cubic feet. Its large vents feature rounded inner corners that keep port noise to a minimum for more accurate response. Just add the right sub, amp, and wiring, then mount the enclosure securely, and you're ready to hit the road with some real bass artillery in your arsenal.

Warning: This enclosure does not include mounting hardware. If you're buying a sub from us, please check "What's in the Box?" to see if screws are included. If not, you should have an assortment of heavy-duty wood screws on hand for the installation.

Q
What is the box tuned to? Would it work for a Sundown SA12?
jason  May 01, 2018

Yes. Good box but won't hold more than 1000 Watts. It'll come apart. Already had 2 cause me apart
joshua  May 01, 2018
Q
Do you think this box would pair well with a JL audio w7ae 12" sub? The prowedge won't fit in my trunk.

A
It'll fit the sub perfectly. Just make sure the room in your truck is enough for the box
christopher  Dec 10, 2017

I love this box..I have the alpine type r 12 and it sounds wonderful. The w7ae is a pretty large sub I believe as far as depth is concerned, so I'd check the dimensions with that and the box. But as far as sound goes, can't go wrong.

Q
Is volume 1.6 cubic feet before or after vent displacement?
michael  Oct 29, 2017

A
After. The box is closer to 1.85 cubic feet without the vents. I hope that helps My Bio: https://www.crutchfield.com/bio/Ryan

Q
would this box work well with a Rockford Fosgate Power HX2?
george  Oct 19, 2017
1 answer
A
Rockford made a few different versions of the HX2 but most all of them are recommended for at least 1.75 cubic feet of airspace for a ported enclosure: http://www.crutchfield.com/p_777BB1220V/item.html

Though I'm not a service consultant for crutchfield I can almost guarantee they carry a custom fit box perfectly for your Chevy.. I bought the JL stealth box for my Tacoma Double Cab and have been more then happy with it.

would this box survive and sound good with a ROCKFORD FOSGATE T2D212 1200 RMS WATTS 2400 MAX?

Yes it would...it's a very sturdy well built box...

no box is to small
ian  May 18, 2015
A
yes, it'd sound good and last awhile. I have a power acoustic 12 mofo 2500 max getting pushed by 1200 watts and sounds pretty good. The air flow on it is pretty nice too, but I like ported boxes.
ashton  May 18, 2015
A
I would say yes. Mine looked very well built. I installed a pioneer spl 3000 with a hifonics 2000 watt. Only pushing around 1000 rms but the box is holding up perfectly. Sounds great and i personally think it looks better than any other sub box I've seen.
robert  May 18, 2015
A
It should I have an alpine type r in it now 1000 rms going to the sub. Sounds great.

I had the 3500w champion pro and it was perfect.

I have no idea. I purchased the Polk Audio sub and it works perfectly. Sorry I can't help with your question. FYI - Crutchfield's return policy is very good if it doesn't work for you.
robert  Feb 24, 2015
A
I don't have a champion, but I recently just replaced my busted JL sub with a more powerful 12 inch Alpine sws-1243D and have had no complaints or issues with either sub in it. I've had the box for almost 4 years now as well. Hope that gives you some insight or at least a reference point.
jason t  Feb 24, 2015

I purchased this box and mounted an original pioneer spl 3000 in it and it rocks. the inside of the box is reinforced and is very solidly built in my opionion. I'd definitely recommend it over any other single sub box out there.
