Overview Details Staff Reviews Customer Reviews Category Info Accessories Our take on the Sound Ordnance Bass Bunker by Dominic Devito Why do I need an enclosure? An enclosure is simply the box that houses your sub; sealed and ported enclosures are the most popular types. A sealed enclosure is usually smaller in size, sacrificing a little volume level to deliver more accurate bass. The ported enclosure features a vent which allows bass waves to escape from behind the mounted sub, augmenting the bass coming off the front of the sub. Ported boxes are louder, bigger, and a little less accurate. Every sub works best in the size and type of enclosure that's recommended by the manufacturer, so make sure you match your sub with the right box. Sound Ordnance's rugged Bass Bunker enclosures come built to last and ready to help your sub deliver real low-frequency firepower. These unloaded boxes feature high-grade, medium-density fiberboard construction, with sealed inner braces that help combat resonance by reducing vibrations. Rounded outside corners and recessed panels allow them to fit into more vehicles, while tough black carpeting defends against incoming nicks and scratches. Bass Bunkers make a great solution when building your own box is not an option. The BB122-125S sealed enclosure holds two 12" subwoofers and offers an internal volume of 1.26 cubic feet per chamber. Just add the right subs, amp, and wiring, then mount the enclosure securely, and you're ready to hit the road with some real bass artillery in your arsenal. Crutchfield Customer Review The reviewer purchased this item from us, verified by the email address on the order. I have this 1.25 c.f. per side enclosure housing 2 Infinity Reference 1262W subs. It's a perfect match for these brilliant sounding subs- the bass is full range and there is almost no unwanted resonances, even without polyfill. I generally don't recommend polyfill if the box volume exactly matches the woofer's specs. I find that padding/stuffing takes too much away from the mid to upper bass fequencies, leaving it sounding rather drab. I tried 2 Alpine Type-R's in this particular box back when I cared less about "sound quality" and more about the loudness level... The Type R's boomed fairly well in this little box, but of course not like they would in a larger enclosure. Infinitys weigh less, and work better with less power (and have great clarity overall), so that's one reason I came back to this enclosure using them... great match & perfect fit. (Kappa 12"s will not fit in this box due to their larger diameter!) This Sound Ordinance box is braced well and the carpet is very durable. Finding a better quality enclosure for this price will be an almost impossible task. 3 out of 3 people found this helpful Was this review helpful? Went with this Bass Bunker for dual 12" due to wanted o box I could trust and I trust Crutchfield. Found slightly cheaper ones on line, but for a few dollars -the security of support of this product out did the cost factor. I also went with S/O AMP and very impressed. This box is well constructed and great looking. Little surprise when it arrived to find the back of the box is at slight angle. Liked it more when I saw it. We mounted the AMP to the back of the box and mounting all the wires to it also. 1 out of 1 people found this helpful Was this review helpful? It fits perfectly and does not block the 3 storage doors. I loaded it with 2 Kicker CVR's powered by a d1000.1 mono amp, on a pioneer DVD player. sounds killer for The metal and old rock I listen to. Nice tight bass doesn't get drone-y like the band-pass boxes. The 78 has no rear speakers as designed and this box is almost a perfect fit as if designed to go in back. Was this review helpful? Seems to be a great box and it is. my problem is that i have a 94 mustang i was putting this into and it was really hard to get it in there. it fits the trunk just fine but i could not get this one through the opening of the trunk. crutchfield does have a smaller box that still holds two 12's but i dont know about it fitting or not. i just know that this one does not go through the trunk opening. i had to take out the back seat and get it in that way and it was still quite difficult. great box just remember to measure. Structure in side was braced in key spots and the two chambers were sealed from each other. Fit perfect in my Probe. Heavy but I, not worried about weight or size. Plenty of room. The box is well built and is really appealing to the eye, but I don't think it is a good fit for my Rockford Fosgate P2D4-12's. They really don't seem to be getting enough air to hit like they should. I probably would have been better off with a ported sound ordinance box. The box was a recommendation from a crutchfield representative who obviously didn't know much about the subs I have. 2 out of 2 people found this helpful Was this review helpful? When i got it delivered since i live on the west coast and came from the east it was banged up in the package but i pulled the box out and it was in perfect condition smelling like new BOX! haha but i highly reccomend basicly any sound ordnance box to anyone 10/10! 2 THUMBS! up 13 out of 14 people found this helpful Was this review helpful? 5 out of 5 Built great and looks great Written By Jeff, Sycamore, Alabama on Monday, October 18, 2010 Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?) Crutchfield Customer Review The reviewer purchased this item from us, verified by the email address on the order. Yes | No
5 out of 5 12's in a 78 vette Written By Catzklawz, Fallon, Nv on Wednesday, June 01, 2011 Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?) Crutchfield Customer Review The reviewer purchased this item from us, verified by the email address on the order. When looking into sub-woofer options for my 1978 vette, I came across this box. 5 out of 5 hard fit in mustang truck Written By Michael, Brownwood, TX on Saturday, April 21, 2012 Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?) Crutchfield Customer Review The reviewer purchased this item from us, verified by the email address on the order. Pros: solid and sturdy tight and accurate bass 1 out of 1 people found this helpful Was this review helpful? Yes | No
5 out of 5 Sealed twin 12' box Written By BlackIrish, Denver, CO on Friday, May 18, 2012 Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?) Crutchfield Customer Review The reviewer purchased this item from us, verified by the email address on the order. Bought as a package and am impressed with build quality. Structure in side was braced in key spots and the two chambers were sealed from each other. Fit perfect in my Probe. Heavy but I, not worried about weight or size. Plenty of room. Pros: Nice carpet, good hookups in back, hatchback style fit perfect behind my rear seats. Cons: Cabling for subs is smaller gauge too small in my opinion. Was this review helpful? Yes | No
5 out of 5 Outstanding Written By McD, Fort Lee, VA on Wednesday, April 04, 2012 Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?) Crutchfield Customer Review The reviewer purchased this item from us, verified by the email address on the order. I had been thinking about changing my substandard box for awhile. If I knew this box would make such a big difference I would have changed a long time ago. Loving it. Pros: Nice tight bass. Cons: None Was this review helpful? Yes | No
2 out of 5 Sound Ordnance Bass Bunker Written By Stephen, Madison, AL on Wednesday, June 01, 2011 Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?) Crutchfield Customer Review The reviewer purchased this item from us, verified by the email address on the order. Yes | No
