Overview

Our take on the Sound Ordnance™ Bass Bunker

Sound Ordnance's rugged Bass Bunker enclosures come built to last and ready to help your sub deliver real low-frequency firepower. These unloaded boxes feature high-grade, medium-density fiberboard construction, with sealed inner braces that help combat resonance by reducing vibrations. Rounded outside corners and recessed panels allow them to fit into more vehicles, while tough black carpeting defends against incoming nicks and scratches. Bass Bunkers make a great solution when building your own box is not an option.

The BB122-125V ported enclosure holds two 12" subwoofers and offers an internal volume of 1.36 cubic feet per chamber. Its large vents feature rounded inner corners that keep port noise to a minimum for more accurate response. Just add the right subs, amp, and wiring, then mount the enclosure securely, and you're ready to hit the road with some real bass artillery in your arsenal.

Warning: This enclosure does not include mounting hardware. If you're buying a sub from us, please check "What's in the Box?" to see if screws are included. If not, you should have an assortment of heavy-duty wood screws on hand for the installation.

I really like this unit fit nicely in my sons trunk , with the porting the subs hit HARD

I have two Alpine SWR 12 D2's in this box, and it really bumps. I highly recommend it if you have subs that will push a lot of air. Sounds great!

Pros: Fits big subs, high quality, allows for subs to be wired in any way you want

Cons: None

The bass box is well built, the sound is above average in my opinion! The installation of the subs was easy and hassle free. Wiring connection were easy to use no soldering needed. I would recommend to anyone thinking about purchasing this box, go for it. You should be pleased.

Great price and quality

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Great value for the price. Box is sturdy and well consructed. You cannot build a box from scratch at this price. Unless you just must have a custom solution, this is the way to go. Multiple sizes to match the recommended volume requirements of your subs. Nice terminal connectors to hook up external wires. Would buy again.

Pros: Well constructed. Nice looking. Arrived undamaged. As advertised.

Cons: Internal speaker wire that comes soldered to box, is not meaty. Would like a bigger one. Probably not necessary. You may want to add some baffling/pillow stuffing. Doesn't come with any. Either issue above isn't a big deal. I did give 5 stars bases on internal wire size.

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

This is a bang for your buck definitely a good investment for your car... I highly recommend this if you want a good setup for your subwoofers. It rattled the interior in My Mustang so much the rearview Mirror popped out of place I was glad it didn't break though but I'm very happy with My Box. I wish I could have the subs pointing to the front of the car instead of the back if there is a way to do it on an 05 Mustang V6 that would be great to know!

Pros: Everything....Nice structure on the inside, Fine Quality wood, Clean black carpet, Triangular ports, back terminals are nice as well.

Cons: Only that I could not have My subs facing the front but still an outstanding box.

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Box came with no damage easy to install in. Spec meet what are listed on website. Terminals are not to bad for the price. Carpet does not have any flaws. workmen ship is excellent overall. Box is much lighter then I expected. I would not recommend change subwoofers in and out of this box to many time as it will not hold up. overall for the price and free shipping it is hard to beat. Perfect Hz and Cubic feet for 12 inch Alpine type-S subwoofers.

Pros: Built well, Nice terminals, Nice carpet

Cons: Light weight will not last multiple speaker changes

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

When I first installed it I was skeptical about the way it sounded. I had a previous single woofer box that went deeper in bass than this box. But after some tweaking and fine tuning it, I got this box to go as low as the other one, and louder. I still have some way to go to finally set the amp and receiver to get the most of this box. Overall the box is well constructed, not too big, does not occupy much space, and for the price, you can't go wrong with this one. I received quickly, considering that I'm in the Caribbean. And yes, I recommend this box.

Pros: Well constructed box. Not too big. Very nice price. Tight solid bass.

Cons: If you are looking for lower tuning, go for the bigger box.

i have 2 dual 10" versions of this box and i wanted to add 2 12"s so i picked this up, once again it is made perfectly and feels heavy duty, the connectors are all convenient to use and the box makes such a great sound. i thought the 4 10"s in a hatchback was wild, this just put my car over the top! well done sound ordnance, i display your sticker with pride.

Pros: construction, cost, look, feel, sound, i love it

I had the pioneer tsw309d2 in a sealed box in the trunk of my challenger not much bass. I ordered this box from Crutchfield and you wouldn't believe the difference. I had to turn my amp gain back. I'm probably running gain about 10 percent and it is some loud bass. This box is exactly what I was lookin for, you will not be disappointed with this purchase.

Pros: Great box, great price, great customer service.

Although I haven't gotten to install the subs I bought for this enclosure yet due to a future install date, I am very happy with this purchase. The overall structure of the box is far better than I've seen from any friends and the reinforced walls is what does it. I hope to get my system up soon then I can give a full review

Great Enclosure

Written by: Daniel from San Antonio, Texas on June 26, 2011

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

First off, let me start by saying that this was my first purchase from Crutchfield. I needed a good enclosure to replace my old single 12" sealed enclosure, on which the rear wire inputs became loose and were lighting on fire. I went to Best Buy prior to landing on Crutchfield. The enclosures there sucked!! They were either $150+ or you had to assemble them yourself. After a little bit of research, and help from the wonderful people at Crutchfield, I landed on this bad boy. Because the sides of the enclosure were separated, it allowed me to put my old Sony XPlod sub on one side and still use it while I waited to get money for a second one. By going from a SEALED enclosure to a PORTED enclosure, I noticed an incredible gain of booming bass! Later, I added another Sony XPlod sub, and OH MAN you can hear me coming from a mile away. I have owned this product for about a year now, and I can tell you with confidence that it has exceeded my expectations in terms of durability and longevity. No components are even close to becoming loose. One more thing before I end this review - This thing is HEAVY. Heavy in a good way though. Not like, dragging your trunk on the ground or lowering your rear end heavy. With my old sub enclosure, I had to use a heavy duty stapler to staple industrial strength velcro to it. On this one, It's weight keeps it from sliding all over my trunk!

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I purchased this 12" subwoofer enclosure and I am completely satisfied. First, I love its size--it is not too large like some of the other enclosures. It fit right into my 2007 altima with ease--I was able to tug it right behind the seat. The dimensions were good enough to allow my 12" kenwoods to punch out tight quality bass. Thanks to everyone at Crutchfield I am customer for life.

Yes, perfectly fine. [ DAVID  Jun 29, 2016 ]
I personally own both products. Yes, they can support it! Though the closed box is what I would have preferred. I love this box though, and the speakers are some of the best to date! [ BRANDON  Apr 26, 2016 ]
S/O makes great boxes. They'll definitely handle the vibrations from the type R's. Although this particular model has a volume slightly smaller than recommended, it should still sound great. Other option is the Model BB122-175V. A little more volume so the extreme lows will hit a little harder. [ willie  Apr 25, 2016 ]
For details on fit or installation please contact an Advisor by phone (1-800-324-9695) or online chat. They will be able to pull up your vehicle and give you the details on if this will fit and what you will need for an installation in your vehicle. [ Krissy  Oct 21, 2015 ]  Staff
Sealed box for these speakers. Used a bi passed box and they hit harder in a sealed box. [ DERRICK  Aug 25, 2015 ]
Haven't purchase these items [ TONATIUH  Mar 12, 2015 ]
The box ports are tuned to about 36htz so make sure that the sub can handle frequencies that low and you will get a very nice sound, it is a great box and you can get that loud boomy sound from it. Hope this helped! [ ETHAN  Feb 27, 2015 ]
