Sound Ordnance's rugged Bass Bunker enclosures come built to last and ready to help your sub deliver real low-frequency firepower. These unloaded boxes feature high-grade, medium-density fiberboard construction, with sealed inner braces that help combat resonance by reducing vibrations. Rounded outside corners and recessed panels allow them to fit into more vehicles, while tough black carpeting defends against incoming nicks and scratches. Bass Bunkers make a great solution when building your own box is not an option.

The BB82-140V ported enclosure holds two 8" subwoofers and offers an internal volume of .74 cubic feet per chamber. Its large vents feature rounded inner corners that keep port noise to a minimum for more accurate response. Just add the right subs, amp, and wiring, then mount the enclosure securely, and you're ready to hit the road with some real bass artillery in your arsenal.

Warning: This enclosure does not include mounting hardware. If you're buying a sub from us, please check "What's in the Box?" to see if screws are included. If not, you should have an assortment of heavy-duty wood screws on hand for the installation.

Why do I need an enclosure?

An enclosure is simply the box that houses your sub; sealed and ported enclosures are the most popular types. A sealed enclosure is usually smaller in size, sacrificing a little volume level to deliver more accurate bass. The ported enclosure features a vent which allows bass waves to escape from behind the mounted sub, augmenting the bass coming off the front of the sub. Ported boxes are louder, bigger, and a little less accurate. Every sub works best in the size and type of enclosure that's recommended by the manufacturer, so make sure you match your sub with the right box.

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Fantastic product that paired perfectly with an older set of JBL subs. Almost perfectly matched to the specs of subs that have been out of production for over 10 years.

Pros: Construction quality, price, size for my particular car

Cons: Speaker wire attached to terminals could be a heavy gauge (included was 16)

GREAT BOX!

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

This box is exactly what I needed for my two 8" Alpine Type-R subwoofers! I went from a pair of the sound ordnance 8" sealed boxes and they were great but this ported box blows the old sealed boxes out of the water! As always with sound ordnance it is great quality with a great price, and I would highly recommend this box.

Pros: Great sound, Great price, Great quality!

Cons: none

Features

Materials: The Sound Ordnance BB82-140V Bass Bunker is an unloaded, hatchback-style ported enclosure for two 8" subwoofers. It is constructed of 5/8" MDF (medium-density fiberboard), covered in black carpet.

Internal Box Volume: The enclosure has two separate (isolated) chambers, each with 0.74 ft³ of airspace.

Terminals: Each chamber has a pair of spring-post speaker terminals mounted in the rear panel. The spring terminals will accept bare wire up to 10 gauge, pin connectors, and single banana plugs, but are spaced too far apart for dual banana plugs. Inside the enclosure each terminal has an attached 15" length of speaker wire to connect the subwoofer.

Brackets: Brackets for securing the enclosure to your vehicle are recommended.

I have two Alpine Type R 8's in it and they pound. I have never had any issues with the box and don't think you'll have any issues with it. It is a solid box and well constructed. [ BRENTTON  Sep 11, 2014 ]
