The BB8-35S sealed enclosure holds one 8" subwoofer and offers an internal volume of 0.38 cubic feet. Just add the right sub, amp, and wiring, then mount the enclosure securely, and you're ready to hit the road with some real bass artillery in your arsenal.

Warning: This enclosure does not include mounting hardware. If you're buying a sub from us, please check "What's in the Box?" to see if screws are included. If not, you should have an assortment of heavy-duty wood screws on hand for the installation.

It's a great little enclosure, it's a basic standard subwoofer enclosure for a great price.

Very nice box for the price. S/O is the way to go for price and quality these days. Don't let the name fool you.

Pros: Quality and Price

Great Enclosure

This enclosure was great for my 2016 Mustang. I combined it with a JL 8W3v3-4 sub and JX 250/1 amp. It makes clean powerful bass. It fits almost perfect into the side of the trunk.

Pros: Well made and just the right size

Just Perfect!

I bought this box for my 2008 Scion xB. I was looking for thumping bass, but I did want something which would give me more bass response. The Bass Bunker combined with a JL 8" Sub was just the ticket. The box is almost the perfect shape to fit in the space behind the rear seat. Combined with a generous amount of Crutchfield's Polyester Fiber Stuffing this combo can't be beat!

Pros: Well made, quality materials

Unusual use for these

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Got my hand on my mothers 50 year old stereo console, cabinet in great shape but sound quality unbearable. Gutted the cabinet and installed some good vintage components. Installed a pair of ADSL780 book shelf speakers (from the 80s) in the cabinet. The dome midranges and tweeter did not need to be in an enclosure so they were just mounted on the speaker baffles, but needed enclosures for the woofers. These worked great, 8 inch woofers fit perfectly in them, they are small enough to fit and they are placed just behind the opening for the woofer in the cabinet. Although a little bass heavy the speakers sound great.

Pros: Good construction

Cons: none

I would have liked thicker material but it does the job.

Pros: Sealed nice.

Cons: Material thickness - this is personal preference.

Constructed Well!

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Having constructed countless sub enclosures since the early 90's, I am quite impressed by this little one. Many may scoff at it's wall thickness (or lack thereof), however if you know about building boxes then you would know that it doesn't always take 3/4" material to build a sturdy box. The bracing helps a little with the sides & bottom (it isn't attached to the top for some reason), but the actual construction itself with the way the panels are fitted together adds enough sturdy bracing intrinsically. Recessed sides & small panels helps avoid panel flex! This also in turn lessens weight tremendously, and that is compared to another similar size DIY 8" enclosure stored in the closet. The 16 gauge wiring suits well with subs that will easily fit into the cabinet so I there's really no need to change it. For those who are worried about it, there is only around a 1.2 watt/.09 DB loss of power over 1.5ft of 16 gauge wire. That's 198.81 watts out of 200 still passing through. Clearly inaudible & insignificant! Carpet looks great & the binding post terminal gives a professional build look & quality to it! Only con that I can see to this box is perhaps the sub could have been placed on the slanted side to aid in stability from tip overs for wild drivers, but that's what securing to the floor is for. I would definitely buy this again!

Pros: Great build quality! Sturdy & lightweight. Enough wire length to attach the sub out of the box. Quality terminal & carpet... price is spot on!

Cons: Would have like to see the bracing stretch up to the top, but really isn't necessary. Enclosure might be more stable if sub was placed on the slanted side... still no big deal for normal driving.

Nothing fancy but one look says quality. Unless you already have all the tools to make a box of your own, you'll never be able to buy all the supplies you'll need to build a box like this for the money. Custom builds are fun but sometimes it's just not worth it as is the case here for me. Running a JL8w3v3-4 off a 200w MTX amp with very good results. Box solid as a rock. Bracing is strong, seams are clean, carpet is perfect, hardware is quality. Pre-soldered wiring is a bit lame but I planned to solder on my own Monster Cable anyway (pre-installed came right off with soldering gun). I'm fussy and was still more than satisfied.

Pros: Fit and finish, price, time saved not building my own enclosure!

Cons: Pre-soldered wire is pretty wimpy

Excellent with only one issue

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

EXCELLENT PRODUCT only one issue i didnt like was the bracing inside the box blocked some thicker magnet speakers or magnets that were wide. The brace prvented the speaker from fulling sitting, easy correction i just removed the bracing but other than that this is a great box. I plan on ordering another for my 10" sub

Pros: excellent construction and material

Cons: inside bracing decreased inside size were the thicker speaker magnet was hitting the bracing

Nice compact size w/ a solid construction my only complaint if you want to even call it that is that the box tips over easy so it needs to be secured some way. I paired it w/ a JBL GTO804 & Alpine MRP-M500 & the trio works really well together in the small trunk of my 2011 Camaro.

Pros: Compact Size, solid construction

Cons: Tips over easy needs to be secured

Solid Enclosure!

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Solid construct - 5/8" MDF and good binders - why I bought it... Dropped a Kicker 10CVR82 8" 2x2ohm DVC in.

Pros: Kicker 10CVR82 hits hard in this sealed enclosure - after mods (see below). FREE S/H!!!

Cons: This IS a premium price for a small 8" enclosure. MODS: (1) Replaced the supplied 16GA internal wires with 12GA, (2) RTV (caulk) the binder cup to actually SEAL the enclosure, (3) added poly fill. For a $40 8" SUBWOOFER enclosure, move to the 12GA and the poly fill, it's what, a +$0.05 increase per piece???.

S/O Bass Bunker 8 inch

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I have not yet heard how this product will make my 8 inch JBL Sub sound. My stereo build is just waiting for some rca/speaker adaptor cables to be complete. The quality of the Sound Ordinance Bass Bunker in 8 inch is very good. The construction is flawless and a good marine grade carpet is used to finish it. I did remove the smaller gauge wire that came with it and replaced with 12 gauge cable before mounting the Sub. It is a great product to be sure...

Pros: Great Quality

Cons: None

I was pleasantly surprised to get a box of this quality for this price. Works perfectly with my 8 inch infinity speaker, however I did have to slightly enlarge the speaker hole for my speaker to fit. Sounds and looks GREAT!

Exactly what I needed

Written by: Patrick from Nashville, Tennessee on May 24, 2011

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I got this box to hold a JL 8w1v2-4 subwoofer. The box is .38 cuft and the sub called for .375 so it was a perfect match. The box was a whole lot smaller than I expected, and will take very little space up. It is VERY solid. You would have to take a large hammer to it to break it, and that would be after many many hits. The inside wire are thick (at least 18 gauge, looked to be 16 gauge) comign off the input terminals which are high quality. The opening was the perfect size, I pre-drilled the holes to mount the sub and used deck screws to hold it in place. It was extremely solid and very air tight. High quality product and would definitely recommend. Plus it looks good compared to other "flashy" sub boxes out there.

Customer Q&A

Crutchfield asked
Why did you buy this?

I ordered this enclosure because it's internal free air space was closest to the JL Audio recommended space for the 8w3 which is the subwoofer I picked up and the box is tuned closest to spec provided by JL for the 8w3, I wanted an 8w7 but the box for it wouldn't fit in my trunk. Only box that I found with great reviews. [ Sean  Mar 26, 2016 ]
Speaker required air space was correct [ Steve  Mar 16, 2016 ]
Not many other options for a sealed 8" box. The price point on this model was acceptable. [ DILLON  Mar 16, 2016 ]
Was the correct air space for the sub I'm using [ jeremy  Dec 30, 2015 ]
I am installing twin 8" subwoofers in my Dodge Stealth. There is limited room and these will fit both the back cargo area (flanking) and my Infinity 860w's. I want the tone not to rattle my frame. [ Keith  Dec 05, 2015 ]

2 questions already asked

I purchased this box for my daughter to use with a Polk 8" subwoofer with similar recommendations. It sounds fantastic in her little Kia Rio. The recommended box volume is just that, simply a suggestion based on the woofer's specifications. Fractional variations in box volume aren't going to have an audible effect on the woofer's performance, so I'm confident you won't be disappointed going with this box. It's very nicely constructed and finished, and a solid value. [ Frank S.  May 22, 2016 ]
I don't know about the RF but the infinity I had in there sounded real nice [ julian  May 21, 2016 ]
They will work together because the volume taken up by the mass of the speaker magnet and structure reduces the internal volume of the speaker box bringing it closer to the recommended volume for the speaker [ juanita  May 21, 2016 ]
Yes. [ PETER  May 21, 2016 ]
