Win the battle for great sound in your ride. Sound Ordnance amplifiers feature tough construction, rugged looks, and a 3-year warranty, so you can enjoy the full power of your music for the long haul. Even better, you can add Sound Ordnance to your arsenal at a surprisingly affordable price.
The Sound Ordnance M-1500 mono amplifier packs a 500-watt wallop that'll give your subwoofers some serious firepower. An adjustable low-pass filter and a variable bass boost allow you to control your bass barrage at will.
The M-1500 amplifier uses sophisticated power supply and output technologies to ensure clean amplification from the inputs all the way to your speakers. Special circuits protect the amp from overheating and short circuits, and a turn-on delay virtually eliminates that annoying thump when you turn your system on.
You might think you don't need an amp because you have a 400-watt system in your car, or because your new stereo puts out 50 watts a channel. But those are peak wattage ratings, which may boil down to 15 or 20 watts per channel, using the more realistic RMS rating. An amp sends your speakers the power they need to deliver your music with clarity and impact, whether you're using factory speakers or high-performance components. And low-frequency reproduction requires lots of power, so an amp is an absolute must if you're adding a sub to your system.
So far no problems and works well!
Pros: Well made for the money.
Cons: Big size
Only con is its a bit large.
Pros: Good quality for being made in China
Cons: Larger size
It pushes the subs and does everything i need it to; the only downside in the week of use i've gotten out of it so far is that it does tend heat up rather quickly. I haven't had it turn off on me yet but it does get warmer than i'd like it to.
Pros: cost and effeciency
Cons: how hot it gets from little use
This Sound Ordnance M1500 500w amp is replacing a 12 year old Pioneer 300w that was still kickin strong. However, needed more power to my 12" as 300w is insufficient especially driving on the freeway. Size wise, its rather large but it punches my 12" a lot harder. For the money, there is no better deal right now, period.
Pros: Very affordable. Good performing. Remote bass control option. Light weight for its large size. Low pass & high pass tuning.
Cons: large size
Very good amp so far. Clean sounding and has just enough power that I need with a good price!
This amp is well designed and is great addition to any set up. The low cost with the high quality makes it a great buy.
Pros: Bass knob, low cost, sturdy structure
Cons: Wire mounts are a bit small
after researching woofer and amp combos I deceided that this M-1500 would be enough to push my pair of 12inch boxes and they get pushed without a doubt and then some, for your money the house brand from Crutchfield is simply Awesome, thank you Crutchfield for your quality service and selection of products, you have a customer to stay,,,
Pros: ease of connections, and of adjusting sounds to match your needs.
Cons: if there were some I never found them !
It has been many years since I have had a system in my vehicle. I really didn't want to break the bank and I did a lot reading. I finally pulled the trigger and ordered this amp with a Sound ordinance 12 in sub. I really just wanted this to work. I was prepared to go with another brand if it did not sound decent. So off I went with this amp and sub to my local car audio install shop for install. When I returned to pick up my car I could hear this sub filling the install bay. It was incredible. The amp did exactly what is was supposed to do...it powered the sub with clean power! Now I can't wait for someone to ask...what kind if amp is that??....bottom line...be different...step of the path and give these a try...your gonna feel like you unlocked a secret! Sound ordinance is the real deal!
Pros: Not like everyone else
For how inexpensive it is, it may seem sketchy but, I hooked it up to 2 MTX 12" Road Thunders. Powerful. And, the connections don't slip like the ones on my Kicker amp always does.
Pros: Inexpensive. Easy to install. Sounds great.
Cons: Scratches easily. Not personally a fan of the pancakey, flat, long, wide shape.
This thing really puts out the power. I have it connected to a pair of Sound Ordinance 12s and it drives them really well. I really like all of the adjustments on this unit. The one negative is that the case doesn't seem that durable. I cracked part of the plastic while mounting it.
Pros: Value, sound.
Cons: Somewhat cheap case.
Let me start by saying that I was skeptical buying a brand I never heard of before. But my lord was I off base. This thing powers my 2x 12" subs easily.
Pros: Cheap. Powerful. Easy install.
Cons: Only uses 8 gauge wire.
awesome sounds great in my expedition really love it easy to install
It is a very good amp and it's what I've been looking for just have to change a few things in my cart to compensate for the power in my car
Bought this to run 2 - 10" JL Audio W0 Subs (200W each) and it runs them perfectly! Pushes them nice and hard to get that great kick drum sound. And it was a third the price of just about any other 500W RMS monoblock amp.
Pros: Easy install and drives my subs perfectly! Remote bass boost dial is an added plus for when you need to tweak the sound! Great performance at a great price!
Great sound and power, easy to install and adjust. Was happy to see bass boost was adjustable through a dial and not just a switch, so i could accurately adjust how much I wanted the bass boost to be
Pros: sufficient power
Cons: a little big, but still mounted fine
Difficult to set up. Couldn't get it to thump with the filter on. Hooked it up to a Kenwood deck using the sub outputs. Need to adjust it fully so the filter doesn't counteract the deck.
Pros: Price so far. Doesn't thump as hard as my mtx sub amp that i replaced.
Cons: Directions for hooking it up. Wasn't clear how to set the amp up. The adjustable volume doesn't seem to change at all. Bought the amp for price and from the other reviews.
Paired this amp with a B-17 subwoofer, it works and sound awesome. Setting it up and installing it was fairly easy. With all the adjustments/tuning available on this amp it made it easy to run the B-17 with my factory stock system (non JBL) in my Tundra Crew Max.
I can't believe how much power and how many features I get for my money in this amp. I was very hesitant to buy one, because this is a no-name brand (it's Crutchfield's house brand). I researched it ahead of time, outside of Crutchfield's site, to see exactly what people thought of Sound Ordnance. The reviews elsewhere were favorable, so I took a chance. I couldn't really go wrong since Crutchfield offers a 3 year warranty on this model. What other amp company does that? No one I know of that comes even remotely close to this price range. You'd have to spend a grand or more on an amp to get that sort of warranty.
As per my wishlist, my wife purchased this for me as a birthday gift. Shipping was fast, and needless to say, I enjoyed my birthday! It came with a free amp install wiring kit. I didn't need the kit, but I did use one of the 8-gauge power cables to go from my distribution block to the amp. Nice, soft, finely-stranded, all-copper cable in that wiring kit. I have it hooked up in my car running two Alpine Type-R 8" dual voice-coil subs, with a Precision Power C.10F 10 Farad Hybrid Power Capacitor between it and my stock battery and alternator. A Pioneer DEH-80PRS and Audio Control Three.2 EQ drive the amp. Amp's sound is clean.
My install advice: this amp can get pretty warm if you run it for a long time. I ran box fans, fan speed controller, and relay for +12V remote to keep it cool. If you don't opt for that, make sure to mount it in an open area with airflow.
Pros: 1.) Tons of features! Boost adjust, line level adjust, sub-sonic filter adjust, crossover adjust, protection LED, and even a wired, remote boost dial to mount in/under your dash. You'd have to spend hundreds more to get these features in another brand. 2.) Terminals to hook up two channels of subs, even though this is a mono amp. No more piggy-backing a 2-ohm setup on the same terminals. 3.) All terminals are bare wire screw-downs, with Phillips screws. 4.) Amp has a ton of clean power.
Cons: 1.) Class A/B amp means its less efficient than most other mono-amps which are usually Class D. That means it takes more power to drive it and wastes more of that power as heat. Class A/B used to be better-sounding, but these days Class D has advanced so much that there's no audible difference between the two anymore when you're just driving subs with them. 2.) Very heavy. 3.) Very big. It took up most of my mounting location behind my 60/40 rear seat split (on the 60% side).
Super performance for the price. Paired it with Sound Ordnace's B-17 sub and together they exceeded my expectations. Had a few issues and Crutchfield advisors help me through them. Thank you Crutchfield.
Pros: Great performance Great price
For it being such a low price it's got some good power.
Pros: Low price.
Great amp so far. Definitely does its job. Pushing 2 10" kickers downfiring.
Pros: Great quality for the price
Great value but quality item. Love the bass control to allow for fine tuning of the sub. Wish it had speaker level inputs but I used a Scosche SLC-4 and it works great. Power a Kicker Sub nicely. It is larger than I anticipated but I was able to mount to the back door of a Jeep JK Unlimited.
Pros: Bass Control. Doesn't get hot.
Cons: No speaker level input
Just got this installed in my 2009 GMC Sierra. I hooked a 12" shallow mount Pioneer sub to it and it puts out some serious boom.
I bought this because my cousin in law was looking to bump on a low budget. All I can say now is he ain't complaining lol.
Pros: Clean look, comes with remote, does the job
Cons: None right now
Recently purchased this amp to pair with the Sound Ordnance B-12 sub. Very satisfied with this combination, it bumps just as good (if not better) than many of my friends systems who have spent a lot more money on Pioneer, JL, Kenwood, etc. Would highly recommend this to someone looking for a quick and easy upgrade to your system that has the best bang for your buck.
Pros: Easy to install Looks great Lots of power
Cons: None so far!
This amp is great, it's rated at 500w at 2ohms, I have it pushing a 10" alpine type r and it pounds, the remote bass knob is a nice addition bc I have it halfway up, highly recommend this amp!!!
Pros: Nice price and comes with knob
Cons: None so far
I love this AMP! Drove it hard for 3.5 hours straight as loud as it would go with the speakers wired in series, it got hot to the touch but never went into protective mode.
Pros: Strong durable amp
All I can say is WOW what a Great AMP. The AMP doesn't heat up and it provides plenty of power for One Speaker.
Pros: Price, Quality.
Cons: Adjustment Buttons Seem Cheap.
This amp is perfect for the boost I was looking for my sub. I have a Stealth Pod encloser for my jeep, with a Kicker 40CWR 102 sub. Really thumps.
Pros: Very easy hook up, came with a 8 gauge amp wire kit, love that you can adjust all levels, and has a seperate bumed adjusting switch to locate up front with you.
Cons: A bit on the long side. For size.
Awesome amp at an awesome price.
Pros: Nice looking. great price. plenty of power.
Cons: a little big.
I bought this amp to finish a complete sound system I am building for my brother. I bought this amp for its incredible price and decent specs. I bought this amp, 2 MTX RTL10-04 10" subwoofers and a sealed Sound Ordnance box. Much much louder then I expected it to be! I was able to get all of this (including the wiring kit) from Crutchfield for under $400 with the current specials. Amazing product for the price. Only complaint is the chrome end caps on the amplifier are a cheap plastic. I wish this amp was a just a simple unflashy box instead of trying to to fashionable. After several months with the amp, I am very impressed with the performance.
Pros: Performance, Cost
Cons: Not a huge fan of the faux chrome end caps.
Awe man this amp does what it says and says with a thump what it does....great
Pros: Easy clean more than its worth
Cons: If anything a internal fan...
Amp sounds good have it on a 10" RE Audio sub 2ohm load and it Is low and deep. Have had it in the heat and nothing abnormal as far as hot running I would buy it again for the price you can't go wrong.
Pros: Power, price
Cons: Little large if that is really a con
I installed this amp to run two 12" Kicker CompVRs. It has run them flawlessly! I ran this amp for 1 1/2hours straight at 2 ohms on both 12s and although it did get hot to the touch, it never got burning hot even here in the TX heat where it got 100 deg today. It kicked all the way to the beach with me pounding on it all the way. I mean I beat this thing like nothing for that hour and a half. I wanted to see if I could "MAKE" it go into protection mode and if I did, how long and how hard would I have to beat it. Guess what, never did. So don't be scared. For the price and the Crutchfield 3 year warranty, you can't lose.
Pros: POUNDS! Sounds great! The remote controller! The adjustability. The looks. The wiring kit came free with it, can't beat that!!
Cons: Gets a little hot.
All I got to say is, " More bang for your dollar$$", why spend anymore if you don't have too..... It is a great product for the price and it is backed by a company that cares.. It is so affordable that everyone should be Boooming....!Thanks Crutchfield!!
Wow what a great amp just received this today easy install. Quality is enormously awesome.
I bought this amp because I had just spent $300 on 2 kicker comp 12's and an enclosure and I needed to save some money. This amp by far had the highest rms rating for the price. I was a little worried at first that the performance would match the price (you usually get what you pay for) but this amp definitely surprised me. My two subs have a combined rms rating of 1200 watts, but this little joker pounds at just 500! My rearview mirror keeps getting knocked of the windshield by the bass. As others say, it does run a little hot and doesn't have a fan, but it hasn't gone into protection mode yet. I'm no car audio professional, but it seems to have a decent amount of adjustments too (low-pass, sub-sonic, gain, bass boost) and even comes with a remote to control sub level. This is very handy for me because my head unit doesn't have a sub adjustment. Plus you get a free wiring kit. I went to Walmart previously and bought the same kit for 35 bucks before I knew better, but hey, I have an extra kit now for another vehicle. Overall, I know its not a competition amp, but it is more than enough for a beginning car audio enthusiast to experiment with and blast some tunes. Also, the amp is pretty huge for how much power it makes, but I think the size makes it kinda cool anyway, and its installed in my suburban so space is not an issue. I took off one star for issues listed in "cons".
Pros: Good sound, plenty of power, great value, looks cool, comes with remote, free wiring kit, 2-ohm minimum impedance
Cons: Runs hot, Wiring terminals are a pain to hook up, adjustment knob values are very vague, amp is hard to mount, manual is useless
Great amp for price does job very well
Pros: 500 rms for less than it would cost elsewhere great deal
Cons: Little Bit hard to get good spot to mount in some cars
You get what you pay for, this amp hits great but gets considerably hot in 2ohm mode. So far it is powering my sony xs-gs120d no prob, in a sealed box due to lack of room. It sounds amazing but i am dreading to find out if it will get too hot in the south Texas heat. I hear it runs nice and cold in 4ohm mode though.
Pros: Great sound quality and power sent to my subwoofer. Even though it gets hot it has never gone into power save mode. The 3year warranty is assuring and crutchfield has AMAZING customer service and stand behind their products. I will definitely continue to buy products from them in the future, great company.
Cons: Might not work well during summer and it is difficult to tune the amp due to the vagueness of the adjustment dials. Other than that, it is an amazing amp for the price.
Like it so far. Enjoy the ability to assist the levels of the bass it controls. Have it under the driver seat. Not having the heat issue others have posted.
This amplifier has an amazing amount of power for the value. I am running a 10" Cadence Wild Beast 2 ohm Subwoofer and the punch it get from the amp makes it sound like I have 2 15" subs.
Pros: Excellent quality.
Cons: No cons
The product is fine. Really good power and sound and nice features. THe proce was hundreds less than some others. I'm very happy.
Pros: Great product for the money.
Cons: I love Crutchfield and I've bought from them for decades. The problem is with the Crutchfield shipping package. It is literally a box 12 times larger than it needs to be. It was huge. It is all filled with Styrofoam peanuts and when you open the box, an electrostatic bomb goes off. The peanuts go all over the place and there are ten thousands of them. Who's going to clean this mess up? What am I supposed to do with all these styrofoam peanuts and how do I get them all up? I sent them back.
This product works great for the price. The amp is well built and feels really solid. It never failed to produce the power I needed for my 300w RMS Sub. I would definitely recommend it to others and would definitely buy again if I needed to.
Cons: Amazing Price Well Built
Best bang for your buck!
Pros: Easy connections! Bass knob included!
Overall I have had no real issues with the amp. many claim it runs hot but i haven't had it shut off when i drive and have it playing for a hour or so at a time daily. I paired it with 2 polk audio dxi 104's and it hits pretty hard in the trunk of my little miata.
Pros: Good clean bass, cheap.
Cons: Hard to fit in my trunk. to big to mount on box for a mono amp.
Size matters. The amp is over 15 inches long. WOW only a 500w mono block too. Could be smaller in my opinion. HOT. put it somewhere cool. Mine is in the trunk and I cant touch it after 20 minutes of play. No heat sink fins...even a small fan on it would help out a whole lot.
Pros: Does what it is intended to do.
Cons: Size/Heat/ not enough adjustments, could use a few more filters for freqs.
Pros: Bass boost Looks cool
Cons: Runs a little hot but not a big deal
Great amp! Seems to have a ton of power. It brutalizes the pair of MTX 12's it's driving. Love the adjustability and remote volume knob. It does get warm though. Never had it shutdown but can't stand the volume that long to see if/when it will. The thing is huge too! 5 stars if it had easier to use cable terminals. That's it main weakness. As it is, solid 4 stars.
Pros: Tons of clean cheap power, flexibility, remote volume knob, 2 ohm stable
Cons: Huge, hot, poor access to terminals
Great quality and for a CHEAP price!! Couldn't ask for a better amp and price!
Pros: Cheap Great quality
This amp delivers more than enough power for the average users needs, and has all the main features a proper amp should possess. I've enjoyed this amp for over a year now, and for the money, it has kicked butt for approximately $0.35/day (less than feeding a starving child!)... so, for the money, GREAT VALUE... difficult to find better SOUND PERFORMANCE vs. COST ratio.
...other factors beyond performance are important considerations for some... I saw a 2 of 5 star review from Feb 2013 from a poster (we'll call Rob, from Florida), whose assessment was 100% spot-on... just stingy w/ stars. This amp is HUGE (may become an issue if you have other amps, sub box, etc... I have little functional room remaining in a full-sized SUV). This amp gets HOTTER THAN BLAZES (you cannot hold this in bare hands more than 15 seconds or so without sustaining thermal injury). Worse yet, 30 miles into any road trip (only time I really crank up for sustained duration) it shuts down in "protective mode." In the Georgia summer heat, you look at this thing sideways, and it'll shut down (then you're the guy at the intersection singing out Katy Perry lyrics without any sound to drown out as the other motorists, pedestrians, folks at the bus stop and bums turn to see..). The connections suffice, but are CUMBERSOME... wires all over the place.
In short... all the right internal components (sound/circuitry), laid out by that science fair dweeb from high school
Pros: if sound quality and price are you're only concerns... look no further, you'd honestly be wasting your time; looks kinda cool too
Cons: huge size; hotter than the dickens - shuts down with sustained power demands; clumsy wiring & cheap plastic end caps;
Such a great amp for such little price!
Pros: Perfect size and great build quality with all the adjustability you would ever need going to buy a four channel amp by sound ordnance soon for my mids. As alway crutchfield never lets me down!
Amazing power and great adjustability.
Thought I would try the Sound Ordnance M-1500 since it was on sale. I am happy with this amp and it performs great! I have it putting all 500 watts to an Alpine Type R 12" subwoofer and it pounds! After a while, this amp will get a little hot, but it is nothing extreme. Overall, very happy!
Pros: great power, inexpensive, lots of functions
Cons: terminals can be a little hard to get to if you have the amp mounted low
Love this amp. Called with questions. Sales rep asked if I ever heard of Sound Ordnance. Gave it a try love it
Pros: Clean power looks great
Cons: Easy to get carried away with the boost knob
Decided to take a chance on this amp, and I will buy again. Right now it's pushing 2 12" Sony XS-GTR120L no sweat. Only problem now is it hits so hard it make my CD's skip, but hey it's all good mp3's work just fine. There is one thing I would change and that is putting a passive crossover setting. because my head unit has low pass filters built in but with a little fiddling it sounds great. Installation was pretty straight forward only catch was hooking the wires to the amp but not a big deal just two allen head screws and the end slid off giving easy access to the terminals.
Pros: great value comparable to amps twice as expensive
Cons: no passive setting for the crossover. have to take end off to connect wires.
At first I was a little worried on buying this amp because I never heard anything about this company. I'm a Alpine and an Kicker man I just wanted to put something in my wife car and not brake my pockets, because she will never use its full power. So I jump out there and give it a try. I love it; great sound; there is no delay with the sound, and the look is not bad. If someone would have compare this to an Alpine or a kicker I would have laugh at them..It can hold its own weight with these other bands.
Pros: great sound; there is no delay with the sound; and the look is not bad; pick up the lows very good. has a 3yr warranty
Cons: its a little big but that is it...
Purchased this amp to go with an MTX ThunderForm and it sounds great. Was relatively easy to install but the EFX wiring kit was a necessity.
Pros: Works great! Great Price
Cons: We had to get creative on running the cabling to keep power cables away from audio cables but we made it work. I would rather see power on one side of the amp and audio on the other to make this a little easier.
I have this paired with a 10" JL w0V3 sound good and working fine together
Pros: Works great, color
Cons: Size. weight
Hard hitting awesome power. It's driving two Polk Audio DXi-104 subs.
This amplifier provides excellent power to my Sony Xplod 12" compact sub. Together they make some serious sound, and shake my entire King Cab Nissan Frontier. I love the remote volume control, it's quicker and easier to use than going through the menu in my receiver. It comes with both high and low pass filters which is not guaranteed in this price range. The controls are very basic and vague though. Cheap plastic dials that really only let you know if you're at the maximum or minimum. That and the large size are the only two setbacks; however in order for it to get smaller it'd have to be class D which would drastically raise the price. I am extremely satisfied with this product and would both recommend it to a friend and buy it again
Pros: Remote volume control High and low pass filter
Cons: Size Controls
The last sub-woofer and Amplifier i had was the B-8P powered sub. I loved the sound even more than the 2 10'' s, i have now at 500rms, and it only the B-8P was 80rms. This amp is great and a extremely budget friendly one too. Oh, and the volume remote which isn't listed is a huge bonus! I wasn't expecting one so when i received it i was in love.
Pros: Volume Remote, Loud and great for the price.
Cons: Freaking Huge for an amplifier.
This is a great amplifier with great power options for your configuration. This amplifier puts out large amounts of clean power to your subwoofer. The amplifier is large in size but that allows the amplifier to be so affordable. The only drawback is the plastic mounting is weak and broke when I mounted it on my box. Maybe they put their money more on the internal hardware other than the plastic mounting part of the amplifier. I just moved the amp under my drivers seat but it's too large to be completely hidden. :(
Pros: Great solid amplifier that produces plenty of clean power for your subwoofer. Great quality as far as the internal hardware is concerned.
Cons: Plastic mounting bracket is weak and has a potential to break. This amp also puts out a lot of heat luckily it's like the entire amp is a thermal heat sink.
I bought this amp to Power a single Pioneer Comp 12 in a down firing box in a Chevy 1500 Extended Cab. It sounds incredible, the bass knob is nice but I don't use it, just leave it on full and make adjustments on my head unit. While it won't bounce you out of your vehicle its powerful enough to hear and FEEL the punch in any music I play which is all I want. I've had it in my truck now for two years and no issues, and I'm in my truck a lot with work. I would definitely buy this brand again.
Pros: Great Price and Value. Very Reliable
For the price, this is an okay amp, but it has some flaws. First, the dial controls are very inexact, they show two to three values and you're basically on your own to figure out what you're actually setting them to. I used a tone generator to precisely configure the low pass filter. Second, and this is a big one, is: HEAT. This thing gets so hot, running it hard (but nowhere near maxed out) for about 15 minutes made it go into protection mode because it got too hot on a day when it was about 75 degrees out. It has no fans and no external heat sinks. I have it mounted on two wood blocks so there is about 1/2 to 3/4 of an inch beneath it, and there is nothing near it. It could not be mounted more ideally. I shudder to think what will happen on 100 degree days here in Florida. So, I'm going to have to cool it with some fans, which would be MUCH better if the outside had some sort of heat sink design. Finally, where you connect the power and ground wires could be better. After putting in the cable and tightening the screws all the way the wires were still falling out. This was after applying solder to the wire too. I guess you get what you pay for.
Cons: Overheats easily, cheap connections, inexact controls.
Bought this AMP based on the recommendation of other reviews that it paired well with the B-17 sub I purchased as a present for my son. Installation was pretty easy as I just mounted it to the box. The connections are a little trouble as they are all at an angle and inserted from the bottom of the connector. The size of the AMP is a little larger that I thought it would be which is one reason it was mounted on top of the box instead of the back or side. So far my son is please with the performance of the AMP and sub.
Pros: Looks nice, sufficient power for the B-17 sub
Cons: size makes mounting on the smaller sub boxes a challenge, angled connections can make things tricky during installation.
this amp does what is suppose to. I have this amp powering my s/0 b-12 sub enclosure and I haven't had any problems yet.
very happy with da product, sounds loud, looks nice and alot of power, have it hooked up with two jl audio 12wov3-4,,i'm impressed
Pros: great power for da buck
A great product, extremlely happy with the outcome. I use this amp to power two mtx 12's and it doesn't break a sweat and the bass is tight and accurate but can really hit the low notes too
Very nice, couldn't ask for more
Pros: slappda bass
Great product this amp makes a huge difference compared to my old sony xplod amp. My Kicker has way more power now and pounds a whole lot harder. I love that adjustable bass knob (wired) that comes with it makes it much easier to adjust the boost when on the move. A amazing deal and I'm glad that I have purchased this amp.
Pros: Pounds hard Good looking Clean Easy Installation Deal
Great amp for the money, not bad looking, alot of power at 2ohms
Pros: power, price, proformance the three p's
Cons: does get hot, hard to mount
The product worked like a charm. I have not had any problems with it so far, Customer Service was lack luster. I waited to the wee hours of the morning to call stateside for poor service. Other than that installation was easy after I figured out what the problem was.
Pros: Easy installation, and th eproduct was just as it was stated.
Cons: Plastic holes are a pain, customer service needs improvement on time when helping the consumer (Have Patiences with troubleshooting) also needs a fan on the unit to help with cooling.
Awesome power with plenty extra
Pros: Easy hook up plenty of power
Cons: none yet
Fantastic amp. Pushes the crap out of my 12" type R.
Pros: Very clean sounding. Easy instal. Looks pretty.
Cons: Gets a little warm after extended use but is never gone into protection at all or anything so really isn't an issue.
I didn't expect much when ordering this amp. But much to my surprise it works great and even in lured a remote gain. After using cost ate amps I am very pleased with this mono amp for the price.
The amp is a great value and works well however the plastic hard to get to mounting screws is another story. The holes have to be marked ahead of time as all the wireing will need to be done and connected before mounting. Then you have to hit the holes and not overtighten the screws or the plastic will crack. Make sure you have a thin long handled screw driver. Metal connections would make this a 5 star amp
This amp is absolutely amazing, the volume of the bass is about the same as any other amp I have ever owned, but the intensity of it is so much greater. I bought this because I bought a S/O B-8P and it did not disappoint AT ALL. So I bought this with good expectations and it blew me away how amazing it sounds. And Now for the reason I only gave it 4 stars: After playing music for about 1 1/2 hours (It sounded Amazing btw), I turn off the car and touched the amp. HOLY COW, I could not leave a finger on the amp for more than a second without it burning, this thing was HOT, I am truly amazed it did not go to thermal protection because it was scary hot.( I have the amp running at two ohms, about 1/2 gain on the amp, and about 3/4on the remote control)
Pros: Attractive Styling, Attractive power :-), Remote bass control cable, 3 year warranty, the list just keeps going, wins the battle for great sound every time
Cons: the mounting bracket, this amp was a pain to mount to my rear seat, I had to measure, precut the mounting holes, then use a thins screwdriver to finish the process Would definitely love an updated version with better mounting abilities and a cooling fan, I would buy one in a heartbeat, probably more power too. All in all I still love this amp and recommend everyone one to buy one (3 year warranty, cant beat that)
This amp kicks a$$! Leave it to Crutchfield to build a great amp at a reasonable price. I paired this with a ported double 12 from Kicker....the bass is unbelievable! Can't go wrong with anything from Crutchfield.
Pros: It's all good
I have only had this amplifier installed for about a week now, but I must say it does everything it is supposed to, without a hitch. The epicenter remote makes control very simple, once your initial settings are adjusted. So far, even on very warm days inside my trunk, this little baby has not overheated yet. I would recommend this to any other curious sound lovers out there. Good product, good price.
Pros: Tight sound control, good power.
Cons: None that I have found so far.
Has this amp and a kicker comp vr 12 in my truck wired in 2 ohm.. Worked awesome and got a lot of compliments on how it sounded.
This is a great overall product. I was very satisfied. I have 2 15" legacys hooked up through this amp and even though this amp only puts out 300rms on them they sound great. Would definitely recomend this product to anyone looking for quality at a low price.
Pros: cheap, easy to handle, awesome quality
Cons: nothing flashy, could put out just a little more power.
Great product for the money.
Pros: Power, Bass Control, Amount of Control on the Unit, Appearance is Simple yet good looking.
My JL amp died/shorted/fried on me, and I melted my backup amp... and hated driving without bass that I finally decided to buy an amp...
Being on the budget, and not really impressed with the JL amp i had before, I figured I'll give this a shot, good reviews (the only bad review is some guy who complains it's underpowered trying to power a 1500w sub... i mean... this is a 3rd of the power at 2 ohms -_-")
I have a single JL 10w6 sub for my focus zx3 and this is awesome. I use it at half power most of the time and it packs a punch. At full my car isn't insulated enough to handle it and just rattles T^T
Pros: so worth it. i never heard of this brand, so far ti's the best amp that i've tried with my speaker in my car, def like it more then the JL amp i had before.
Cons: the designs of the screws for the speaker, power, ground etc wires seriously pissed me off. it's at this weird angle and i get why it was designed that way to protect the covers but it's freaking annoying unless you have the right screwdriver. my adjusting nobs or whatever for the audio shift around inside the case that it's hard to turn without a screw driver... but once i had it dialed in to what i like i just use the remote to adjust the power.
Great sounding Amp.
Pros: Very simple to tweak.
Cons: Mounting the Amp. is hard. The mounting bracets break off very easy.
I hooked this amp up to a jbl power series 10 that pushes 1600 watts and 400 rms and I've heard a bazooka 1500 mono amp pound it so much harder lol you can barely hear it thumping, I'm pretty disappointed...
Pros: Looks cool
Cons: Doesn't hit lows well
Great Amp! Using it to Power a Single 12 inch Type R in a Ported Hatchback Sound Ordance Box. This is doing a far better job than i expected. Absolutely love it!
Pros: Good Price, good Power
Cons: Small terminals but its not that big of deal
1 Kicker 10CVR124 sub went in the smaller vented Sound Ordinance box. This sub's spec asked for a larger enclosure, but I didn't have the room. It was installed in a Mitsubishi Lancer RallyArt powered by a Sound Ordinance M1500. The whole package worked very well together. It hit low and clean and the punch was very tight. If you had the room, I would suggest the larger box to get a little more volume for the lows, but I was happy on how this turned out. It was loud enough to be heard outside of a sealed car (windows and doors closed) from 500', but not obnoxious enough to make the entire car rattle. The amp remote was a nice extra for no additional $. The amp was a little large for the power output, but the output was rated accurately. The only reason I didn't give this amp 5 stars was due to the mounting brackets. Unless you are mounting this to a flat surface, you are screwed. I tried to mount it to a slightly uneven seat back, and ended up just leaving it sit on the trunk floor. The mounts are very poor quality, such a shame for a great bargain.
Pros: Good power output, remote and a great price
Cons: A little large and the mounting points do not work unless you have a perfectly flat surface (even then, they are cheap)
Purchased this amp to replace a Profile amp that I have had for years, the amp worked great but when I turned the stereo on or off I would hear the "thump". So i installed the M1500 in its place and no more "thump" or anything. This is the second Sound Ordnance amp I have owned and could not be more impressed with overall quality and reliability. I use my car stereos on a daily basis and run them at above average volumes and have never once had an issue.
Pros: Reliable, powerful and very good price. Read the reviews... Sound Ordnance equip is worth every penny
Cons: Only 8 guage power and ground wire inputs, can fit 4 guage if you trim a few strands
This amp was purchased approximately a year ago to power two MTX 10" subs in a custom sealed box. It easily powers these subs with power to spare. I was weary of an off brand amp, but after reading the reviews, I decided to buy it hoping that it would be satisfactory. So far, no problems!
Pros: Solid amp with absolutely no problems after a year of heavy use Remote gain control is nice for remotely adjusting level
Cons: Can get warm after extended use, but that is to be expected with any amplifier
This is a very solid amp. The best thing about it is the sound quality. Not to mention it looks and feels like it was put together right with good quality. Best thing is the price isn't too bad considering what you get. It will be powering a JL audio W3.
Pros: The look and sound quality and value.
Cons: Wish the power wire imputs were a little larger. And wish it was 1 ohm stable.
Nice amp for sub set-up in my F-350. Combined w/ an Infinity 8 in sub. Sounds great and gave the ole truck the low end it needed. The dash mount remote level knob (incl) is used way more than I expected as the bass levels on recordings vary so much. It is a nice touch
just like anybody, i didnt want to buy the brand that ive never heard of.....untill the tech told me that its crutchfields brand and i read all the reviews. the reviews are right, they are very strong amps. if you want to save money buy this amp, you will be happy. i have the m1500 hooked up to a 10" JL audio and it hits pretty hard and i havent yet gone past half on the remote bass controll knob. the best thing is the price. i do wish it was a little smaller in size though
I purchased this Amp because i thought my Sony xm-2200-gtx Fried', Well after a Little investigation I realized even though my power line Fuse looked perfectly fine it was not.. After all this I was going to return the Amp, But i decided to try it. to my surprise this little amp puts out some clear bass' I am running two 10's Infinity 1050watt'. an i have decided to keep it the amp . .. I have to give a thumbs up to keith, because he helped me out' . I actually had a different Sound Ordnance Amp Picked out... All in all To sum this up. I think this is a good buy for your money. puts out plenty of power. an i think you'll be very surprised an happy.
I purchased this amp over a year ago and haven't had any problems! Plenty of power! Only wish it were stable at 1ohm! Also would be nice if bass boost was at a specific Hz instead of variable! Other than that I'm totally satisfied. Will definitely purchase more in the future!
it works like any other sub.. costs about half as much
First of all, this amp packs plenty of punch for the price. I am very pleased with the simplicity and ease of use that this amp provides. I love the use of the remote bass gain, because I listen to all types of music, and the ability to control the bass from the drivers seat is an exceptional option. Like someone said before the only downside is mounting the amp with the plastic corners. Don't torque it down too much. I read the previous reviews and agree thats the only weak point of this amp.Thats all I would say that could be improved.
Plenty of power to run a single sub in a truck.
I would highly recommend this amp for someone that wants to have a good bass blend for all genres of music.
I ordered this amp hesitantly since I hadn't heard of the brand. After reading all of the great reviews, I thought, "what could go wrong?" I had the amp professionally installed, $60, only to have the circuit within the amp totally screw up within ONE DAY! I took it back to the shop, because I thought it may have just blown a fuse. To my dissatisfaction, the entire amp needs to be shipped back. I do not want a replacement, I simply want my money back.
While it was working properly, it sounded very good powering my 10" MTX 5500. Unfortunately, what good is that if it can't function.
Got this today along with the Sony XplodT XS-GTX121LS. Very pleased, Mounted
on the back side of the back seat on a 06 titan.
I was a bit skeptical at first but decided to buy anyway. I bought components
from Crutchfield before so I trusted the comments posted when I generally do not
because I've experienced their service. Let me tell you...THIS AMP IS AWESOME!
I have it driving a Boston Acoustic G5 w/radiator and it sounds better than when
I had my old system with 2 Rockford Fosgate 12" subs. The subsonic filter
really makes a difference, and the remote bass control is an excellent feature.
After tuning I have it between 25-50% and it is more than sufficient--and
that's with the bass on the radio set at 0. I would definitely recommend this
amp. Sound Ordnance has made me a believer. Great amp at a low price.
I just hooked this amp up yesterday and I am very satisfied. I have it paired with the SO
B17 and it looks nice and sounds amazing. Great amp.
This product is great. It really drives my sub. My car wasn't very loud with just my
aftermarket head unit and front speakers. But now that i have my amp and sub in my car
is extremely loud. I can barely even hit 20 on the volume out of 50 when i have the amp
power all the way up, but the power control of the amp makes it very easy to have on
loud or lower the sub. Overall great product at low price
For the price it can"t be beat! Clean, powerful sounding amp!
power a single dual coil Alpine 12" sub with authority!
I would definitly recommend!!!
I have this amp powering the S/O B-12, and wow what a combo. This amp sends more than
enough power to my sub, and it never gets hot. I have the gain barely past halfway, and my
B-12 hits so much harder than my girlfriend's 2 10s. Although I'm sure this amp would
sound great with any sub, I can guarantee you will be happy with it paired with the B-12.
Just put the amp in today and i can really tell the difference. I'm powering 2 alpine type E's
10 inch. I had a kenwood excelon amp 600watts and it couldn't push as hard as the sound
ordnance is and lot crisper. listen to mostly rock and it hits all the quick hits. Only down side
is that i need 8 awg wire inputs where i had 4 awg so i had to strip them down tight fit but a
4awg input would help a lot. Overall i would recommend amp specially with the 3 year
Wow. This amp can EASILY put out a true 300w rms @ 4 ohms. Unfortunately, I
could only wire my dual-2 ohm 10" L5 to 4 ohms at the amp, but this thing makes
that sub SLAP; even considering it's in a sealed enclosure. Absolutely NO
distortion. Great product. Exceeded my expectations for not being a mainstream
brand. I definitely recommend this product.
love the amp ....its pushin the sound ordnance B17 . GREAT COMBO. would
recommend this to everybody.
My car is a nissan sentra. I am powering 2 infinity reference 10inch 275w RMS speakers in a sealed box. This amp seems perfect for thes speakers. The combination cranks very loud without distorting. I have power to spare and barely have the bass boost on. Also I noticed that even though this amp is over twice as powerfull as the first one I was using it does not make my headlights dim even at very loud volume. My first amp did. Im assuming its high efficiency has to do with that. I cant imagine an amp costing 2 or 3 times as much providing substantial benefit. As usual the product, customer service and delivery time were excellent.

Crossovers: The M-1500 is equipped with a low-pass crossover and a subsonic filter. You can set the low-pass cutoff frequency between 40Hz and 300Hz. The subsonic filter, designed to block ultra low frequencies that can damage speakers and rob amplifier power, is variable between 10Hz and 40Hz. The crossovers have a 12dB per octave slope, and cannot be turned off.
Bass Boost: The amplifier has a rotary bass boost control. Boost is continuously variable from 0dB to +12dB and centered at 45 Hz.
LED Indicators: The M-1500 features two LED indicators: a green LED that illuminates when the amp is powered on, and a red LED that illuminates when the amplifier is in protect mode due to overheating or a short circuit in the speaker wire.
Remote Bass Control: The amplifier comes with a remote bass control module to allow you to adjust the volume of the amp from the front of the vehicle. The module has a rotary volume control knob, and an LED to indicate when the amplifier is turned on. The module is designed to mount under the dash, and comes with 16-1/2 feet of cable.
Removable End Caps: The end caps on the M-1500 are removable with a 3mm Allen wrench (not supplied) to make it easier to attach the power and speaker wires.
Power Connections: The power and ground connections are set screw terminals that will accommodate up to 8-gauge wire. (An 8-gauge amplifier wiring kit is recommended.) The remote turn-on terminal is a set screw terminal that will also accept up to 8-gauge wire. A Phillips-head screwdriver (not supplied) is required to tighten/loosen the terminals.
Speaker Connections: The speaker connections are set screw terminals that will accommodate up to 8-gauge wire. Even though this is a mono amplifier, there are two sets of speaker outputs. The terminals are wired in parallel internally, allowing you to connect two 4-ohm speakers to separate terminals. A Phillips-head screwdriver (not supplied) is required to tighten/loosen the terminals.
RCA Inputs and Outputs: The amplifier features a pair of stereo RCA inputs for connecting your head unit. There is also a pair of stereo RCA outputs for feeding the preamp signal to another amplifier, if needed.

You need to wire the positives to the positive terminal of the amp and both negatives to the negative terminal of the amp to achieve a 2 ohm to 2ohm hook up. [ MARK Jan 25, 2016 ]

I'm pretty sure the input level would be considered the gain adjustment. [ PAUL Jan 01, 2015 ]
Honestly i used the bass gain remote that i also came with the amp. Your supposed to use only 3/4 up in the gain without the remote but with it you can adjust from up front without ever touching the amp. It does have a rotary bass control but use the remote it will make a difference. [ GABRIEL Dec 31, 2014 ]

Mine is "slightly" tucked away in the rear of my truck, and it gets hot but I'm pushing two Polk audio Dxi's. If your using most to all the power this things puts out its gonna get warm after 30 min and hot around 45 min of continuous MAX output. hope this helps. Also, i have had this amp for over a year and it is loud and reliable, no problems what so ever, great build quality! [ MICHAEL Oct 20, 2014 ]
I keep it in my trunk and it overheats when it gets real hot outside. It has a cutoff feature though so it doesn't get ruined. All I do is open up the back seat and blast the A/C so it cools off. As long as you have good airflow over it it should be fine. [ PAUL Oct 18, 2014 ]
I would have to say no it would not, the footprint of the amp is just entirely too large. I went with a Rockford Fosgate amp and it worked fine, but this thing is entirely too large. [ RICKY A Oct 17, 2014 ]
It will work and doesnt get hot from no airapace but i had this amp attached to the backseat in my civic hatchback. So honestly under your seat i couldnt tell gou yes or no bit hell of an amp [ GABRIEL Oct 17, 2014 ]
In my opinion it would not be too hot to mount under seat but possibly too big. Amp never got very hot on me. Definitely would not fit under my Honda accord seat [ JAMES E Oct 17, 2014 ]

I connected 2 JL Audio single subs to this amp and it was too loud for my taste. So my answer is yes you can. [ RYAN May 01, 2014 ]
This amp has two channels, I has it powering two dxi polks. And it does the job. I have it tuned bad and need to take it in to a shop but I defently does the job. [ MICHAEL Apr 30, 2014 ]
Yes it will work perfectly fine. It will also turn your 2 ohm in to 4 ohm phase. Good amp powerful and full hitting hard amp. [ GABRIEL Apr 30, 2014 ]
It will work with a dual sub system, that is I was running it with the subs wired in parallel. You can get a two into one connection from Radio Shack or just run both connections to the single connection...either way it will work. [ CURTIS A Apr 30, 2014 ]
All depends on how you wire it [ BURBON Apr 30, 2014 ]
As long as you do not push less than 2 ohms. Two 4 ohm subs wired parallel will work fine with the 1500. Two 2 ohm subs will not. [ RYAN Apr 30, 2014 ]
