Built like a tank

The M2-12DVC 12" subwoofer comes with a tough glass fiber cone that will keep its shape when the music's turned up, so your bass stays accurate. The butyl rubber surround helps keep the woofer's movement on track, and it'll stay pliable for years to come. The stamped steel basket provides a stable home for the whole assembly, so your bass plays the way it should.

The dual 4-ohm voice coils allow you to wire the sub for 2- or 8-ohm impedance, giving you the flexibility you need when you add more Sound Ordnance subs in the future.  Also, Sound Ordnance backs up this sub with a 3-year warranty so you can have peace of mind while you're rocking hard.

Q
How many wood screws do i need and how long?
dabombsoda  Jan 17, 2020
1 answer
A
The screws that I used are medium size and an inch long. The basket is a standard 8 point configuration so a small pack would mount 2-3 baskets. Be sure to drill pilots depending on the grade and type of construction materials used .

Q
Will the M2-12DVC fit and work in the Sound Ordnance B-17 bandpass box?
jason  Oct 31, 2017
1 answer
A
It's not recommended for use in a bandpass style enclosure but will fit the mount if you remove the original woofer.

I see you have a port ID of 2.8 recommended for this speaker at 9.1". I have a box perfect for this however am having trouble finding port tube of this size. Recommendations?

We do not offer any pre-fabricated ports with the proper dimensions. You can custom fabricate your own though. JL Audio offers a helpful article on this topic: https://jlaudio.zendesk.com/hc/en-us/articles/221068047-Enclosure-Ports I hope that helps. My Bio: https://www.crutchfield.com/Support/Bio.aspx?bio=5

Q
Is it possible to wire one of these subs to a 4ohm final load? All I can find out is how to wire it down to 2ohm or up to 8ohm.
richard aaron  Feb 26, 2015
1 answer
A
I forwarded your question to an Advisor and they responded with the following: With a dual 4-ohm voice coil you cannot wire it to a 4-ohm load. You are only able to wire it to a 2 or 8-ohm load. If you would like to discuss further you can contact an Advisor directly by phone (1-800-324-9695) or online chat.

Q
Do these subs provide good low end bass?
marvin  Feb 25, 2015

A
Yes. I have two in a ported box. Depending on the amp and setting the bass will sound a little bit different but these have the ability to crank out the low tones. They have good bass punch when theyre warm. Especially if you listen to rap. One of my friends has two MTX road thunder subs in his whip and the sound from these subs is on par with the MTX.

Yes they are great. Sounds good when I play them low volume and high volume if had the 808 great sound and hood price you can't beat that price.

For my first sub I really do enjoy it. It give me just what I need. I feel it hits the best around 34 hz. For lower than that I might not be as satisfying. But it still is a all around good sub
grayson b  Feb 26, 2015

They deliver high quality low end bass It's the best sub I ever bought for the price I paid
francisco  Feb 26, 2015

Yes they ha a nice low end base. I replaced two and love it, price is even better

I've had this about 2 weeks and have it mounted in the SO ported single driver enclosure (note: NOT bandpass). The fAS is 28Hz while the box is tuned to 34Hz. Using a tone generator I get solid output down to 28Hz. My son, who has the dual 12" SO bandpass box, is a bit envious of the bottom end I'm getting with the single driver. I'm using the M 2250 bridged and yes, it has good, solid low end bass. Punchy, good kick and when it's cranked a nice magic fingers on your spine. I listen to EDM, classical pipe organ, rock and various electronic artists e.g., The Chemical Method...the bottom end rocks it in all of those genres (even the lowest notes on the organ pedal which is under 30 Hz).
