I put these in my ram since the factory ones where done and served their perpose. They are a little weak thought for over all sound. That is in my Cummins.

Pros: Easy install

Cons: Just a little weak in sound

Great improvement over factory but it just made me want to give them more power. Saving up for the amp and sub now.

Pros: Noticable db increase. Easy install Harnesses worked like a champ

Cons: Could use better, more specific instructions. But it really isn't that hard.

for the most part I'm satisfied with my purchase just a few things I wish was better but I guess you get what you pay for so I'm happy

Pros: good bass and sound (for the most part)

Cons: gots a lot of distortion if turned up a little loud

Teriffic bass huge improvement

No complaints about the sound. Removing the grills from the speakers for installation was tricky. I was told I did not need an adapter plate for my 2010 Corolla. Wrong, the P-69 mounting holes are way different. There was barely enough metal in the rear deck for mounting them.

Pros: Great sound for the price.

Cons: Mounting in the stock location was difficult.

While refurbishing the interior of my 1979 Trans Am I decided to replace the original rear factory 6X9 speakers. I didn't want to spend a ton and wanted to use the original speaker grills that came in the car. The Sound Ordnance P-69 speakers were a perfect choice!

Pros: Nice quality for the money and very close to factory fit! Shipping was prompt and speakers came well packaged!

Cons: None

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I have these in the rear deck of my 2005 corolla. I wish I could put these in my front doors! The highs are great, and there's enough bass for me to be plenty happy without a sub. As it stands, I have them in the rear deck, powered by a SO 75x4 amp. I can't push them all the way with the amp because they pop when the bass hits if the volume is too high. I have them low passed with a +6db bass boost right now so they're basically acting as subs right now until I get my real sub in. They definitely rattle my whole car, I need to work on deadening the rear deck panel cover. My recommendation: If you want an amazing upgrade from stock and you're not using an amp, or trying to crank your system to the max your ears can handle, buy these. If you're trying to use these instead of a sub, and you want to crank the system, these will fail you. These can get pretty darn loud as long as they're not bass boosted, so if you have a sub, these should be able to get loud enough to match.

I can't say much for the sound quality since I have a stock head unit, but they look like a excellent product. Wish I could have used the speaker grills. I didn't want to cut the originals out though.

Pros: Sounds good with stock head unit I personally like the grills

Cons: None to speak of. Unless you count being a pain to install, that was the cars fault though. Worst placement of rear speakers.

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Myy 94 standard cab Chevy PU NEEDED some sort of bass. I put these in a pair of BB692-1 Bass Bunker boxes which now sit perfectly behind my long bench seat. They are powered by a cheap Sony Xplode single din head unit. More than enough bass for my tastes. Great sound and clear with a nice little thump which is what I was looking for. If you looking to get that head slamming base just get a sub or pair of subs. For the price they hit nice without rattling everything lose in the truck.

Pros: Super value for the money. nice rich bass for a 6x9 and adds just that little extra high pitch to compliment it.

Cons: None that I can think of for me.

Price/performance is very good.

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Installed these in my sister's 2012 Corolla. Could have used and adapter plate, but they weren't included for the rears. I ended up drilling new holes through the rear deck. Not a big deal, but would have been nice not to have to. Major improvement over the factory speakers. These are noticeable heavier and have a much stronger magnet than the factory ones. I did both the fronts and the rears even though only the rears needed to be done. Glad I did. The sound was a lot quieter out of the rears due to the stronger magnet. After replacing the fronts the sound levels were equal. The factory head unit can handle these, but I'd recommend replacing all 6 speakers.

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I was looking for speakers to replace the blown ones my 96 Dodge Stratus ES came with. Ive never heard of SO before, but the reviews were good, so I decided to try them. Almost a year of blasting "bass boosted" songs at high volume, Im surprised i haven't blown them. I am extremely happy with them, and the fact that theyre only half the price of major name speakers of the same quality.

Pros: Great bass, everybody thinks i have a sub in my trunk. They're surprised when I show them the speaker. All music genres play clear, with no distortion to be found.

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I ordered these speakers for my 2010 Nissan Rogue 360 because my left front speaker was blown. I read all the reviews and once I had installed them, I agreed with most everyone else. They are great speakers for the price. They punch great with just the factory head unit and I'm really happy with how crystal clear the highs were. I would definitely recommend them to anyone looking to upgrade their factory system. I had them installed, because it was cheap and I'm lazy, but the directions that came looked pretty simple for self installation and all the parts needed were provided. Go Crutchfield.

Pros: Great price, great sound, fast delivery.

Cons: None.

While the price is right for these speakers don't expected to be blown away. There were plenty of highs and quiet but punchy lows (driving just by a head unit)... but everything in between was missing. Maybe driven by a larger amp these would do better, but i wasn't impressed in my setup. I returned these and was able to get some polks on sale for now much more. Couldn't be happier with those.

Got these to replace the factory speakers on my rear doors of a '14 Jeep Patriot. Fit perfectly. Not sure the sound is better than the factory speakers or not but the factory speakers would certainly not last as long as these. I did receive one of the speakers with a torn surround. Oddly enough, it still sounds good. Because of the price, I just went ahead and "fixed" with some electrical tape.

Pros: Excellent price since I got these off of the outlet.

Cons: Open box goods that had one speaker with a torn surround on one of the speakers. If looking for richer sound, you may want to look at other options.

I would call these better than average, but not the best around. Had a buzz on one speaker on installation. Still need to confirm where the problem is (wiring, speaker, stereo, etc.) and get resolved. But the problem is intermittent which does not help matters. I have talked to support at Crutchfield and they are totally behind me and willing to help all they can. Great company ... that is why I keep coming back!

Pros: Inexpensive Better than stock

The speakers sound great, this is a new car for me a 2007 Honda Accord, the sound was so flat. I just sold my 98 Acura Integra that I had Alpine 300 Amp at 45amps per channel with Alpine Speakers, so this car was a shock to my hearing. I was turning off the music because I could not tolerate it, now it's so much better with just these speakers in the rear. I have other speakers that go in the door but someone else will have to install them. Great Speakers at a good price works well with stock head unit.

Awesome speakers and awesome bargain!

Written by: BrianF from Raleigh, NC on February 26, 2014

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Installed these Sound Ordnance P-69 in the rear deck of a 1997 Accord. The front doors already had Infinity Kappa 3-ways so I was good there. All driven by a Kenwood KDC-HD455U head unit. These P-69 sound and perform awesome! They fill out the sound and then some. They have really great bass - it's not muddy or boomy - it's tight. I could *almost* get by without adding a sub. If you need to keep costs down and don't plan to add a sub, then these P-69 will provide plenty of bass. I installed these in September 2013 but wanted to give them time to break in and see how they performed before I submitted a review. So far (6 months later), they are great and I couldn't be happier. I took a gamble on the Sound Ordnance brand because I had never heard of them until I shopped for speakers in September. Thank you Crutchfield for producing an awesome product at a bargain price!

Pros: Great price and great value for the performance. Great bass - it's not muddy or boomy - it's tight.

Cons: None for performance. These were supposed to fit easily as drop-ins into the rear deck, with no modifications. However, the 4th bolt hole on the speaker would not line up with the factory hole. I screwed down 3 of the 4 bolts, and then used a zip-tie on the 4th hole to fully secure the speakers to prevent vibrations. This trick has worked so far for 6 months.

These Sound Ordanaces' are definitely worth purchasing, even if you don't want something simple. Don't underestimate these speakers. As long as you have the right head unit, and front deck speakers as well, the combination is so clear. I am able to hear the music (vocals, bass, etc.) so clearly that if i would have known about Sound Ordinance earlier, I would have bought the front deck as well from them. My '97 Honda Prelude stock speakers were paper thin...and now, they have new, perfectly fitted and easily installed new ones.

Pros: Flawless quality of sound, great price, perfect fit, easy to install

These speakers are a great factory replacement, 100 times better over the stock speakers. My stock speakers just weren't putting out the highs that I'm use too with amplified speakers, but these truly amazed me with the sound quality they put out on factory head unit power. I would recommend these to anyone that is looking to replace the stock speakers and do not want to go through the trouble of adding more amps.

Granted, I don't turn the volume on past the halfway mark on my radio, so don't know if there is any type of distortion at maximum levels.

Pros: Perfect fit Good sound quality Inexpensive

Cons: I'm not a sound enthusiast to notice any, just wanted something to replace my factory speakers.

If your looking for a quick and cheap replacement these are yours right here. I'm no rookie to audio performance, and these do a great job of producing music to your ears. I originally wasn't going to replace my rear deck speakers do to getting a sub, but I'm glad I did. They produce bass and mids like no other. I have them paired with infinitys in the front and they give me the bass that infinitys do not. For $39.99 I cannot believe what I got. They fit really well and had no problem being installed. I highly recommend these to anyone! Great speakers! Thanks to crutchfield also for sending wiring adapters to make the install even quicker!

Pros: Greats bass, crisp mids

Cons: NONE, great audio and great quality!

For the price these sound good. I paired them with a set of Sound Ordinance 6x9 truck boxes. They sounded a little "tinny" at first. Then I adjusted the Hz on my receiver and added a little baffle to the boxes and they sound far better than a pair of budget speaks. Impressed, Thanks Crutchfield! I will be purchasing Sound Ordinance component 6" and a 10" sub with Sound Ordinance box as I like to have matched sets.

Very good sound

Written by: TerryA from Dublin OH on September 27, 2013

These sound great in my car;. They are replacements for the factory speakers, and the clarity is so much better. They were a pain to install, but that is because of the Acoustic Feedback System in my car that had to be bypassed (should you need to do this, there are some very helpful soures online). Very happy with the purchase. P.S. - It wasn't obvious to me how to get the speakers "out" of the covers they ship with, but the wire mesh grill pops off without too much effort.

Pros: Great sound at a nice price

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

The speakers and sound pretty good, a little louder than stock but not any better as far as quality. The 2 stars are solely based on sound and looks, see con's for the reason's

Pros: They look good They sound good

Cons: There was more to the install Than note said : "1 or more rivets/screws need to be drilled out." 1 hole matched up. I needed to put self tapping screws into the speakers them selves. There was nothing under the holes that were provided in the speakers to screw too Very disappointed and I didn't have the patients or time to return them

Good For Waht They Are

Written by: AudioMaverick from Big Bear, California on September 15, 2013

First off, these speakers are less than $50 a pair. They are low/medium power speakers that give them a fairly high power efficiency, which is what I was looking for. After a few emails with the Crutchfield staff, I got the specs (see below). The Q indicates it is not a thundering bass design, but decent enough for a tuned port to give it some help. I was initially looking for a low power speaker that was in the 90dB sensitivity range and with a soft tweeter that could emphasize voice. This speaker did just that. Shortly after I got the first pair, I decided to get the premade speaker enclosures. But the ~0.3 cu ft case just wasn't enough for these speakers to drive much below 110Hz. They really need closer to 0.5 cu ft to get to 96Hz (twice Fs) and prime for a tuned port. These are not overly bright or punchy speakers. They are clear in the voice range and carry enough drive that one can get some enjoyable top and bottom end out of them. I think they are best used in an environment that needs good filler sound, voice, or is supplemented by a sub-woofer. It is easy to both over-sell and under-sell these speakers. They are efficient down to 2 watts. If one wants louder and punchier, I'd say to spend a bit more for something like the MTX TDX692. For those into building speakers, here are the specs from these speakers. Fs=48.3 Qms=12.13 Qes=0.6 Q=0.57 Vas=4.21

Pros: Keys on 2 watts and drives up to 55. Great with enhancing voice with decent upper end. Can port to get some lower end, and can go down to 48Hz.

Cons: None, if you know what you are getting.

Not my cup of tunes

I bought these Sound Ordnance P-69 rear deck speakers for my 2000 Honda Accord to pair with the great head unit and front speakers that I bought from Crutchfield for my car. I only ordered the P-69s when my first choice, a set of Kickers, were out of stock. I should have waited because I didn't like these speakers at all. They are tinny, have no bass and were not even as good as the old, stock OEM speakers that were already in my car. Crutchfield, as usual, had fabulous customer service that allowed me to return these P-69s so I could buy the Kickers that I wanted in the first place. I'm looking forward to their arrival so I can install the new Kickers, which got great reviews. Thanks Crutchfield

Pros: They fit my car's rear deck.

Cons: Poor sound quality, very tinny, no bass. Very disappointed in these and returned them for Kickers.

Bought these and the matching 6 1/2s for my 2010 Nissan Rogue. Waited to write a review till they were fully broken in. Now that they are all I can say is that I am amazed how good these speakers sound. Good bass, good highs and good clarity. they are hooked up to a Pioneer head unit. The combination sounds very good together. I highly recommend these speakers, for the price I don`t think you`ll find better.

Pros: Sound, cost, wide range of autos they fit.

Cons: None.

P-69's for this Rogue of Mine

Written by: Joey B from Noblesville, IN on August 16, 2013

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

My 2013 Nissan Rogue had 6X9 speakers that were - well - 6X9 factory speakers, but that was the extent of it... needed better on the cheap. The folks at Crutchfield were helpful as always, and I purchased the P-69's. Installation was an absolute breeze and the improvement was although not earth shattering, it was very good. What sold me on these speakers was the 3 yr warranty and price, which I don't feel like I gave up anything and gained some very nice sound improvement. So, if using a stock OEM head unit, and need a less costly improvement - you could do worse, but the P-69's are worth the look. Thanks Crutchfield.

Pros: Fitment, cost.

Cons: Virtually error free. Base could be a little more subtle, or crisp, but overall fine for me.

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

While I know that when someone says "value," people have a tendency to automatically think "cheap," that should not be the thought with these. They are constructed very well and of quality materials. I've been deep into the audio world for quite some time, and have experienced a lot of speakers at both ends of the cost spectrum. For these being toward the lower end, they have excellent sound. The biggest mistake would to hook them up to your OEM head unit or a cheap 20 watt deck and claim that the speakers only sound somewhat better than the originals. Use a good head unit or a simple amp. These sound quite a lot better with a full, clean 50 - 60 watts behind them. You'll be surprised.

Pros: Great clarity and output volume, sleek but simple looks, very well designed and constructed, excellent price for the quality!

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I was really surprised with the significant improvement in sound from the stock 6x9s to these P-69s. I love the range it covers and does well with mid-lows and highs. Great bang for your buck. Didn't really care for the plastic/chrome trim and thought that was what was causing my problems with my first set. I initially had issue with my first set at the tweeter stalk, it buzzing at certain low frequencies, and was sent a replacement right away. - Installed in a 2010 Maxima

Pros: Excellent price. You really get what you pay for here. Great customer service too! Crutchfield was very helpful regarding product issues and sent a replacement right away.

Cons: Inner plastic trim around tweeter stalk was not glued down well and creaked when pushed on (leading me to think it was the cause of the initial buzz issues I had after checking wiring connections).

Man, these speakers hit way above their weight! The sound quality for the price here is phenomenal. Just installed Sound Ordnance's P-69s in my 2002 Dodge Stratus ES, replacing the rear factory 6x9 speakers. Took about an hour, but it was well worth it. Sound quality is greatly enhanced in the bass and high areas. Mid-range response was better than the factory speakers, but not as noticeable as the other ranges. I suspect the response would be better with a better high-end head unit (I still am using the factory Infinity radio w/EQ). Crutchfield delivery was quick. Awesome replacement for the price...The OE front speakers in my truck opened and no sound. Crutchfield techs. recommended these Sound Ordnance P69's as a good replacement. I was very surprised that the sound was definitely better than the OE speakers. Easy fit into the doors. No problems on the R and R.. Bottom Line-very good speakers for the price..

Pros: Price and better than OE sounds on Blues and Pop music.

Cons: None.

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I needed a replacement for the stock Pioneers. One of the originals blew a couple months after hooking up my new CD receiver. Perfect for what I needed. Two of the mounting holes lined up fine the other two I had to open up a little with a tap. Other than that, easy install. They handle all the power I'm getting to them(~35 Wrms per channel).

Pros: In-expensive, quality replacement for stock Accord speakers.

Cons: Slight mis-alignment on 2 out of 4 mounting holes.

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I was looking for an inexpensive replacement for the crackly, worn out, paper cone speakers in the back deck of my '01 Protege. I had a few options to chose from, but the reviews for the Sound Ordnance P-69 were numerous and very positive. I am very glad I chose these speakers! The highs are extremely crisp, and the mid-range is also fantastic. It sounds like someone is playing in the back seat of my car! The bass is solid, but not overwhelming. With some tweaking of the EQ in my head unit, I was able to get some good rumble. For the money, I could not be happier.

Pros: -Price -Mid range and highs sound amazing -Easy installation (Thanks Crutchfield for the wiring package)

Cons: - Bass not booming

Pretty good speakers for the price. Bass is decent, but I have heard better (also had to pay 3x as much though). If your just looking for a boost over factory speakers then this will meet your needs. If your looking for hard bass and superior sound then you will need to spend more. I would place the sound quality somewhere between stock speakers and some $200 speakers. I'm glad I purchased overall.

Pros: Decent Bass; Price

Cons: Just OK sound

These speakers are good for the money. I have had them now for just under a year, with no problems at all. The speakers seem to be good quality, esecially for the price point. I have 4 of these in a 2008 Nissan xterra with a jvc deck and no amp, they get loud enough to hurt my ears so I dont think an amp is necessary.

Pros: Great price and quality.

Cons: none yet.

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I originally ordered a pair of Kenwoods to go in my 2002 Mazda, but noticed after hitting submit that Crutchfield claimed the Kenwoods would not fit. I entered a chat session w/ Crutchfield agent Chad who explained to me that the Kenwoods were too tall to fit under the rear deck and suggested the P69s instead - to which I agreed and he swiftly modified my order, whic I received in two days. 5 stars for customer service! I ran into a little trouble with the installation because the holes in the P69 frames did not line up very well with the holes in the deck, and while I didn't have to drill anything out, it made the installation a bit more of a struggle than anticipated. Overall I'm very happy with the sound.

Pros: Value-priced, great sound for the money

Cons: Installation difficult because of slightly misaligned holes in speaker frame

Almost returned these, have Kenwood which puts out 22 RMS with 50 watt max. I added an amp pushing these to 45 watts RMS and these things are awesome now. My buddy keeps looking around in my truck for a sub woofer, that's how deep the bass is. I listen to classic rock, some heavy metal. These speakers are perfect for hitting a range of high, and low frequencies. I have these in the front doors of my 08 Nissan frontier crew, PERFECT after amplifier was added.

Pros: Very good bass. No distortion at high volumes.

Cons: None now.

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I bought these because I was on a budget. They replaced a set of Sony 6x9 3-ways that I bought in 2004. I rely on my rear-deck speakers to give me a decent amount of bass, and not overpower me with treble. This was not the case with these speakers. I went through every possible custom curve in my EQ and unless the mid is all the way down, the speakers sound horrid. They have crisp highs and decently tight lows, but for 2-way's the treble is almost unbearable. For someone who loves highs and is replacing factory speakers, they are a decent buy. For someone who is a customization freak like myself and loves bass, these will not work for you. I may attempt an in-line low-pass filter, but I have a feeling it won't make these worth keeping.

Pros: Decent bass punch. Highs are clear.

Cons: Mids are muddy and sound horrible. Highs are way too high and almost impossible to eliminate without installing an in-line low-pass filter.

The bass is great, treble: not so much, but it may just be me. In any case, great speakers for the price, the difference in sound (2 speakers vs 2 speakers + these ones) is amazing. Replaced factory speakers with the Sound Ordnance 6x9's and 5.25's and a basic Kenwood 248. It doesn't get much cheaper on cost and the sound is really great. Never thought it would sound this good for such a low-cost. The p-69's really have some punch on the mid-level base and the tweeters do a good job on the high-end sound. Overall the set-up has really good depth when you tweak the EQ settings. I did some basic sound deadening and this really helps tighten up the sound. VERY satisfied with the value of this set-up - I should have done it a long time ago!

Written by: KennyP from Klamath Falls, Or. on February 1, 2012

I've been dabbling in audio electronics since 1986 when Crutchfield was a catalog company. I've built several systems for various cars and trucks both mine and others ranging from a Frankensteined budget system to expensive high end equipment. I'm by no means a monster audio builder but I know the in's and out's of audio systems. I'm involved in a makeover for my economical Honda accord I use to cut gas cost to and from work. I started with a Kenwood KDC-X595 and a set of Polk 6.5 inch in the front door, a obvious sound difference from the factory speakers and deck. But the real reason I'm writing this review is for the rear 6X9's made for Crutchfield from Sound Ordinance. I wanted a quality deck, but since I don't spend a lot of time in this vehicle I didn't see the need to spend a lot on speakers, and an amp at that point was still up in the air. To the point, SO 6X9's are nice! Install was a snap; all of 10 minutes but the immediate sound quality and bass was amazing. I can't remember expecting so little and gaining so much from any product to this extent. I'm not the only one either! I'm wringing my hands as I spy a 5 channel amp and a sub for the trunk. I bet.NO! I KNOW that with a little power to these they will once again make me grin from ear to ear. I'm glad I took a chance on them, and for the money, since these days so much boils down to that it, was so worth it!

Pros: For a two way speaker it carries the highs well and bridges the mid through to a good non distorted thump.

Cons:

I wanted to upgrade the sound as I was still using the original factory speakers (99 Mazda Protege). Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Overall these speakers are great. Install was just as Crutchfield told me. Speakers sound really great in my 2011 Xterra with a Clarion CX501 head unit. I think that some of the people that gave these speakers not so great reviews need a new head unit. Even if you got $200 dollar speakers with a stock head unit, you will not be getting the sound you are looking for. The CX501 gives you the power and equalizer adjustments you need to finely tune these speakers. Once they are tweaked, these speaker sound as nice as many of the higher end speakers. They offers great highs and lows. Not the bass of subs obviously but they are great. I got these and the 6 1/2's and like them both. I have experience with several types and styles of speakers and you really cant beat these for the price. GREAT IMPROVEMENT OVER STOCK. Crutchfield did really well with the design and sound of these speakers.

I bought these because there were only two 6x9s that fit in the stock location in my car due to obnoxious tension-springs. The other set was $200, and that was as much as I planned to spend on the whole system. The sound is fine -- not garbled. But neither the highs nor the lows are anything to brag about. They are a good replacement for OEM, but if you don't plan to put in a sub to fill out the bass, you might think about saving cash somewhere else. One more thing: The surround on these is a treated foam product, not the butyl rubber that most aftermarket speakers use these days. That means that the longevity will be compromised if your car is sitting out in the sun more often than not.

Excellent speakers!!! Got these to replace the rear factory speakers on my 04 Corolla. I had replaced the factory deck with a Kenwood 248 w/USB. I have no preamp or subwoofer. These speakers have great bass and very nice midrange and treble. Definitely a thumping bass, even without a subwoofer. My factory speakers could not handle Ipod songs at medium to high volumes without distortion, especially of the bass...the P69's give very strong bass and midrange at medium to high volumes. Overall the sound is very clear, realistic (like a drumset in your back seat). I play hard rock, blues, classical, Christian, folk, etc, and all styles of music just sound perfect. I installed these P69's in my 01 Ram yesterday, I popped off door panels, unscrewed the old speakers, crutchfield sent a wiring harness to connect the factory wiring harness to the P69's so I had to splice nothing, I simply plugged in the new P-69's and mounted them in the door using only the factory styrofoam top cover to protect the speaker, I used the old speaker screws only because they have a larger head screw that covered more area than the ones that came with the P69's, better fit. I don't know why someone would give these speakers a bad review, they are great!!! I don't think your gonna do better at this price, they were easy to order, easy to install and sound awesome, a totally great experience and crutchfield is about the only place your gonna find speakers to fit that whole in your dodge ram door, don't hesitate, they are well worth the money!
