I bought this pair from Crutchfield a little over a year ago and I believe I paid either this same price or a little bit more. They did NOT come in any type of enclosure at that time.
danny  Dec 01, 2014

Crutchfield shows those pictures to let you know you can get speaker boxes with them but that would be separate. It doesn't say anything in the highlights of speaker box coming with them and I have never seen any brand that did come with a speaker box.

They do not come with enclosures. They do come with the grilles pictured with the enclosures.

No enclosure was included with mine.

Q
How does one remove the speaker grille? Mine were shipped with the grilles installed...I don't know how to safely remove for installation. The instructions do not advise. Thanks for any advice

Hi, Kim Even though I was replacing factory speakers, and did not use the grills. If I remember correctly the grills are metal with small holes in it, that are friction fit into the frame of the grill. If so, take something with a fine point, such as an awl. From the side very close to the frame of the grill, insert the point ever so slightly, as to use the frame of the grill to use as a fulcrum, and genltly pry the grill upward. It should come off pretty easily. Hope this helps:)

I was confused by this too. As I recall, all you remove is the metal screen portion of the grille. Just push the speaker from behind to get it started.

The grill just snaps at the corners. Just lightly pop out a corner and do the rest.
ocot  May 15, 2014
A
You just pull them off. They are pressed in. It is easy.

From what i remember, The frame of the grill and the grill are 2 pieces. take the speaker set it on a soft surface. take the frame of the grill and push down using both hands on each end. the grill should slowly lift off. Do not push on the grill just the outter frame.. Hope this helps. I did not use the grills for my installation.
mark f  May 15, 2014
