Built strong to perform

From its dual-layer damped feet to its thick, brushed-aluminum faceplate, the 351C's sturdy, all-metal chassis was designed from the ground up to resist vibrations that can adversely affect sound. A beefy toroidal transformer maintains a constant stream of clean, low-distortion current with a minimum of electronic interference. And instead of an off-the-shelf CD/DVD-ROM computer drive typical in many players, you get a custom-designed, dedicated CD transport and laser pickup capable of extracting every last bit of data from your discs.

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Produces a clean and crisp sound. Brings out the more natural and dimensional qualities of today's CD's, while lessening the often harsher sound of older ones.

Pros: Excellent sound; slim; good looking.

Cons: N/A

sound is noticebly better. I like the simplicity of the unit...NO extra's geared to "PLAY CD's" and that's what YOU GET. i AM LISTENING TO CD'S SITTING AT DRUMS WITH MIC AND MONITOR AT AN ACKWARD ANGLE FROM THE SURROUND SOUND.. NOW,.I CAN HEAR THE VOCALS,ETC AND AM ABLE TO DETECT SLIGHT THINGS IN THE SONGS THAT JUST WEREN'T THERE BEFORE! Better quality sound (EVEN FROM ITUNES BURNED SONGS and the remote is quick/easy to use, although a bit long! I am waiting for a PANGEA power cable to arrive today. I have cd player, bluray, receiver, directv all hooked up tp furman power conditioner. Hopefully all these extra measures will help with sound, as well as protect my equipment. After months of research (simply to get better sound from Itunes songs I burn to cd's) seems I've gone around the block more than once...USING THE EXPENSIVE PATH. NEXT, rearrange speakers and add some acoustic panels on walls!!! I SUSPECT I'M TURNING INTO A "NEWBY AUDIOPHILE". COOL!!!

Really nice looking player. Clean lines and seems to be built solid. I got the silver. Using it with vintage Phase Leaner Series Two components and Energy RC 10 speakers. Sound is great. Clean sound, super dynamics/range, separation, perfect low end. This unit came packaged really nice from Cambridge. Crufchfield got it to me super quick. Great people to work with.

Pros: Quality, mid line, audio phile.

Cons: A we bit pricy. But you get what you pay for.

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I was excited to receive this unit. It looks great. Imagine my surprise when the CD tray only opened part way, and then would open and close by itself. Alignment issue maybe? Not bad for the price. Customer service was great and I had a replacement unit within days. Guess what? Same issue on this one. Scratch Cambridge Audio from my list

Pros: Looks nice

Cons: Doesn't work....

Circuits and software have been meticulously designed, so the S3 can dynamically adjust focusing, tracking, and output level of the laser in real-time, allowing for maximum retrieval of the digital information and jitter minimization. This is all made possible by the implementation of a powerful ARM7 processor and complemented by a highly accurate master clock oscillator and carefully designed impedance-matched clock buffering scheme.

Wolfson WM8728 DAC: The Azur 351employs the latest Wolfson WM8278 DAC arranged in 2 Pole Sallen-Key Butterworth filter topology. Its capable of 24-bit/192kHz audio for a rich, detailed performance for all music types.

Wrap-Around Casework Design: A wrap-around casework design with substantially thick brushed aluminum front panel, and dual layer damped feet, gives enhanced resonance control.

Standby Circuit: This innovative new circuitry design allows compact disc player to consume less than 1 watt of power when in Standby, but itself remains totally isolated and non-detrimental to the sound quality when the CD player is in operation.
