Plug this compact adapter into your Cambridge Audio DacMagic Plus for convenient wireless audio playback with Bluetooth-enabled devices. Listen to music playing from your laptop computer or iPad® on your home audio system while surfing the web, or enjoy your favorite MP3 tunes from a Bluetooth-enabled cell phone. You won't need to physically connect either device to your DAC, thanks to the BT100's 33-foot wireless range. Best of all, if your smartphone, tablet, or computer supports high-end CSR aptX® Bluetooth audio, you can stream near CD-quality music from your device to the DacMagic Plus.
This worked as advertised. It was easy to get up and running; sound quality was good. But, Bluetooth just didn't have the range for my household application: it is annoying for the music to stop when I walk out of the room (or turn around) with the phone in my pocket. An alternative to the BT connection is to hook the DAC to an Apple Airport Express with an optical/Toslink cable and access the DAC as a wifi "speaker." For me, this was just as easy, gave equal quality (same signal speed), cost about the same (less for me because I already had an Airport Express) and gave a more reliable connection with greater range. This is not a problem with the BT100, just with bluetooth. Wifi just seemed better in my case.
Pros: Works fine Easy to set up
Cons: No real advantage over wifi-based solutions
Worked flawlessly with my CA CXN. Easy interface
Excelent how it works. I think that have to come integrated with the CXR 200 or CXR 120. But one time you put it toghether its fantastics how perfoms.
Pros: Once working your CXR 200 are unbeatable. Power, options to play. Spotify, etc...
Cons: I think have to come inside the receiver.
Once i made the connection with my smartphone I was amazed how glorious music sounded from such music services as pandora and spotify. I made my desktop blue tooth compatable for around 20$ and with Spotify have opened up a whole new world of music. Could not be happier with the sound quality
Pros: amazing resolution hooked up to my Dac magic plus. Beyond expectation
Cons: none really
I bought this Bluetooth adapter to use it on the CA Stream Magic v2 and work fine with my laptop and cell phone to listen My HD Tracks, Tidal, etc. I compared also with spotyfy Bluetooth vs. wifi and sound quality was about the same.
Pros: Easy to install!
Cons: The bass is small and does not stands well. When using Stream Magic and Spotify I have to turn off Bluetooth since gets in conflict with wifi. Other apps do not have issues.
This wireless interface works well. Its unfortunate that you need to spend this much for a USB Bluetooth interface, but regular USB Bluetooth devices don't work with this device. I did not detect any sound quality degradation from using this interface vs a wired interface on the same programming. The nice part is besides not being tethered, it allows you to control the sound from another room within range.
Pros: Works as advertised.
Overview: Simply plug in the Cambridge Audio BT100 Bluetooth Audio Receiver into the Cambridge Audio DacMagic Plus or CX series component's rear-panel USB (type-A) port for wireless music streaming from many of today's most popular Bluetooth supporting devices; such as iPod touch, iPhone, iPad, Android smartphone, Android tablet, and Mac or Windows PC. The BT100 even supports the high-quality Bluetooth aptX CODEC, so you can stream audiophile quality music from your Bluetooth-enabled source device to the DacMagic Plus or CX series component.
DacMagic Plus Compatible: The Cambridge Audio BT100 Bluetooth Audio Receiver is specifically designed for Cambridge Audio's DacMagic Plus (779DACMPLB/S, sold separately) and CX series components. The BT100 can be plugged directly into the DacMagic Plus or CX series component's rear-panel USB (type-A) port, or you can use the included USB dock mount to connect the BT100.
Bluetooth A2DP: The Cambridge Audio BT100 supports Bluetooth A2DP wireless audio streaming. This means you can wirelessly stream music from your Bluetooth enabled iPhone, smartphone, iPad, tablet, or computer to your connected DacMagic Plus or CX series component.
Note: The Cambridge Audio BT100 does not support Bluetooth AVRCP (Audio/Video Remote Control Profile) or HFP (Hands Free Profile).
aptX Audio Enhancement: Bluetooth aptX, which is featured on a growing number of Android mobile devices as well as MacBooks and Apple desktop computers, allows audio to be broadcast wirelessly in significantly higher quality than over standard Bluetooth. You'll instantly notice more extensive dynamic range, deeper bass, and crystal-clear top end. Standard Bluetooth has an extremely variable performance and its weaknesses are very apparent to music lovers. Common complaints include a reduction in high-end clarity, muddiness or dullness in the midrange, and its reduced signal-to-noise ratio can cause listener fatigue. Conversely, Bluetooth aptX has a fixed performance standard to guarantee a consistently high-quality wireless music transfer. With almost CD-quality reproduction to offer, you'll instantly experience significantly greater dynamics and infinitely more detail from your favorite music.
Pairing: Your Bluetooth enabled smartphone, tablet, laptop, or computer must be paired with the BT100, initially.
Note: Due to the differences in Bluetooth technology, some Bluetooth enabled devices may be incompatible, function improperly, or may not support all features when used with the Cambridge Audio BT100.
Compatible Music Sources: The range of music available from today's smartphones, laptops, and computers is almost endless. In addition to music stored on your smartphone, tablet or computer; online music services like Pandora, iHeart Radio, Spotify, Rhapsody, SiriusXM, and of course other internet radio sources can be wirelessly transmitted to the BT100.
