The show stealer on party night
The food's out, the drinks are flowing, and the beats are ready to bring down the house! But wait, where's all that bass coming from? Your friends might not believe you when you tell them, but it's the compact Minx X300 pumping out all that bottom end. And yes, it really measures less than a cubic foot. Under a side table, in a corner, next to your entertainment stand — your friends will feel the bass thanks to this sub's 300-watt amp, but they may not even see the sub itself. And like all Minx speakers, the X300 is carefully designed to deliver the purest sound, whether you're enjoying a fist-pumping rock concert or live string performance.
Engineered with passion
The Minx X300 uses an 8" forward firing driver made of a single piece of super-strong, aerospace-grade aluminum for amazing punch and attack. It's paired with a passive radiator that adds some serious mid-bass boost. Cambridge Audio's software engineers specially designed the sophisticated Digital Signal Processor (DSP) in this sub, allowing it to pump out sensational bass from a compact enclosure. You may even be fooled into thinking the X300 is several times its size.

Why add a powered subwoofer?
A powered subwoofer gives you bass you can feel as well as hear. Our customers love the depth and impact their subs add to music and movies. We hear comments like "it brings out sounds I didn't know existed in discs I've watched a million times." Powered subwoofers aren't just for big bass that rattles your picture frames; they can also deliver tight, accurate lows. If you haven't shopped for a powered sub in a while, you might be surprised at how small they get. Look for an ultra-compact model if you want to tuck your sub away under an end table or in a corner.
Cambridge Audio Minx X300 Reviews
Average Customer Review:
Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)
As part of the Minx system, the bass from this subwoofer is the perfect balanced sound. I have a media "area" with only two walls, open to the side and back. Interestingly, this subwoofer provides great sound without a directional feel to it at all. I'm not the "pound my ears until they bleed" type, balance is the key for me. If I was, this still has the capacity to do it, and yes I tried it to see how much it would take, power wise. The nice thing is it's clean to my ears, and fills in nicely all the way to 150hz (recommended crossover point). You won't be disappointed, it's profile is unobtrusive, fitting into the decor without being noticed.
Hats off to Cambridge, even after several months and many movies/TV watching, it is still a great feeling to have this unit for my bass needs. You won't be sorry...
Pros: Great bass reproduction, clean, full and rich sounding system. It is noise free (the housing doesn't have loose parts that rattle).
Cons: High gloss finish may not work for some from an esthetic perspective

Digital Signal Processor (DSP): The Cambridge Audio X300 powered subwoofer features built-in Digital Signal Processing (DSP) which allows for smaller cabinet construction without sacrificing bass response.
300W Amplifier: The Cambridge Audio X300 powered subwoofer is equipped with a 300 watt (RMS) digital amplifier for increased efficiency and reliability.
8" Woofer: The Cambridge Audio X300 powered subwoofer uses a one-piece, aerospace-grade aluminum, front-firing 8" cone woofer to move air with incredible efficiency.
Auxiliary Bass Radiator (ABR): The Cambridge Audio X300 powered subwoofer utilizes a down-firing 8" auxiliary bass radiator (ABR) for greater bass response and better efficiency. The ABR design replaces the need for bass ports to eliminate air noise at higher volume levels.
High-Gloss Finish: The Cambridge Audio X300 powered subwoofer is available in a high-gloss black (with black cloth grille) or high-gloss white finish (with silver cloth grille). The black and white high-gloss lacquers are finished to the highest standard using paint application techniques developed by premium automotive manufactures. The black and white lacquer finishes are hard to scratch and easy to clean.
Volume Control: The Cambridge Audio X300 powered subwoofer has a rear-panel rotary volume control to adjust the volume of the subwoofer relative to the other speakers in the system.
Crossover Frequency: The Cambridge Audio X300 powered subwoofer offers a continuously variable low-pass filter, adjustable from 50-200 Hz.
Phase Adjustment: The subwoofer's phase adjustment allows you to adjust the subwoofer's phase between 0° to 180°. If the bass sounds muddy or unclear, adjusting the phase control can sometimes strengthen the bass performance.
Auto On/Off: The X300's Auto On/Off feature will switch the powered subwoofer On and Off automatically by signal detection.
RCA Input: The powered subwoofer has gold plated left & right RCA line-level inputs for use with receivers having a subwoofer or stereo preamp output that do not contain their own low-pass crossover. The left channel RCA input doubles as the LFE input, if your receiver has an LFE output and a built-in low-pass crossover.
RCA Output: The powered subwoofer's gold-plated left & right RCA line-level outputs allow you to connect (daisy-chain) a second powered subwoofer.
