I bought this cabinet about 5 years ago. I have been extremely happy with the cabinet's quality, design and features. I use it several times every day. I have not had any issues with the doors, lift mechanism or surfaces. It is a well thought out piece of furniture and keeps your living room looking like a place to sit and talk versus a TV room. Then, when you are ready to watch TV with friends and family. VOILA a giant TV rises to the occasion! I put the front speakers in the front speaker box with the black fabric covers and they work excellent. This is not shown in the pictures but the two long horizontal panels cover a large (6.5"x9.25"x56") speaker area for bookshelf type speakers or sound bars. I have two BOSE 151's that work for both the TV and stereo equipment. I did have an issue with the infrared relay system. At first I had to leave the cabinet door open to start the satellite TV box. Everything else worked ok. I called and got a new photo eye for the front and solved this problem but created a new one. Now all the doors on the front have to be closed for the systems to work at all. This is not a big issue as I keep the doors closed most of the time anyway. I got around this by unplugging the repeaters for the section I need to access frequently and inserted one of the black panels in that door. The remote can get through the black fabric and the rest of the cabinet works on the remote repeaters.
Pros: Real quality cabinet, not particle board. Excellent wiring access. Quality finish. HEAVY DUTY.
Cons: small issue with infrared system. If no issues with repeaters I would definitely give 5+ stars. Lift mechanism location can be a problem if TV connections occupy the same space. There is a moving part that slides up the back side of the TV. If it is right behind the connection panel it could grab wires and damage things. I am using more than just one HDMI to the TV for now (I need a home theater receiver to consolidate wire). If you have just one HDMI to the TV this should not be an issue.
