About the iDatalink Maestro SAT1

Bob Bihlmayer

Why install a new satellite radio antenna when there's already one on your roof? iDatalink's Maestro SAT1 cable allows you to connect your SiriusXM satellite radio tuner to your vehicle's original satellite radio antenna, eliminating a lot of time, heartache, and hassle. It adapts the FAKRA connector at the end of your factory antenna cable to an SMB plug that connects to your SXV100, SXV200, or SXV300 in-car tuner.

Product highlights:

  • connects SiriusXM satellite radio tuner to vehicle's stock satellite radio antenna
  • FAKRA-to-SMB adapter cable
  • compatible with SiriusXM SXV100, SXV200 and SXV300
  • warranty: 1 year
  • MFR # HRN-ANT-SAT1

What's in the box:

  • 6.5" Satellite radio adapter cable (terminated by a FAKRA connector on end and a SMB connector on other end)

Scratch & Dent items may be missing non-essential accessories. In some cases the manufacturer's accessories have been replaced with generic equivalents.

Features

Satellite Radio Adapter: The iDataLink Maestro HRN-ANT-SAT1 enables the use of a vehicle's factory satellite antenna with an aftermarket satellite radio tuner. This eliminates the need to install or mount an aftermarket antenna or modify the factory connector when adding an aftermarket satellite radio tuner.

  • Vehicle Compatibility: The HRN-ANT-SAT1 is compatible with all factory single-wire satellite radio antennas using a FAKRA connector (Chrysler, Ford, GM, VW and more). The factory satellite radio connection must be at the radio location. Click here for a list of compatible vehicles.
  • Satellite Radio Tuner Compatibility: The SMB connector on other end supports most aftermarket satellite radio tuners (like the SXV100, SXV200, and SXV300 SiriusXM satellite radio tuners; all sold separately).

No it did not fit my 2009 Tacoma. I had to source the proper cable elsewhere.

Q
Will this work if I no longer have my factory clip around the antenna plug? I was trying to save money and removed it to connect my F150 SXM antenna to the SXV300 directly but it's loose so I have electric tape holding it now but want a permanent solution.

I removed the connector from the antenna end in my 06 Ford F-150 and plugged it directly into the aftermarket SiriusXM adapter for my Kenwood stereo without a need for an adapter. It connected nice and snug

A
If you cut the factory plug off we may be able to get it to work, but it could be difficult to make it a permanent solution.

Q
Upgrading 2019 gmc IOR to IOS will this work rather than using Sirius antenna?
james  Oct 02, 2019
1 answer
A
Hi James, thank you for your question. The Maestro SAT1, is an adapter that would be used to retain the use of an XM Antenna that came with the vehicle from the factory, when installing an aftermarket stereo. This would not be a compatible option with a factory upgraded stereo system such as what you are going to be using. You will need to use the XM antenna that is intended for use with the upgraded GMC IOS system.

Q
Is the satellite radio antenna adapter compatible with OnStar? I want to add XM radio and also keep my OnStar functionality.
david  Jul 11, 2019

A
My truck does not have On Star, so I do not know.
david  Jul 11, 2019
A
I know that the Maestro uses and adapter to connect to vehicles that already have satellite radio. I had a Dodge Challenger with XM radio. On Star is separate from XM and the Maestro just keeps the steering wheel functions for your vehicle. I hope this provided some insight, good luck I enjoyed mine....

I used this adapter on a 2015 Camaro factory antenna with no issue. My car came with the MyLink system. I would think a similar Gen 5 Camaro would work the same way.

call Sirius tech support - many factory sat antenna's may not work effectively with newer XM tuners; the advised me to use kit-included magnetic XM antenna including running the antenna wire to externally mount

I ordered the sat wire but when I received it it seem like it's missing something it's for my 2018 Dodge Ram 1500?
basheke  Jan 30, 2019

A
The SAT1 is for connecting the factory satellite radio antenna to the aftermarket SXV300V1 tuner: www.crutchfield.com/p_220SXV300/item.html The tuner is needed for SiriusXM service when installing a compatible aftermarket stereo in your truck.
