Made for your Mustang

You've got your heart set on a new touchscreen GPS receiver, but you really want to keep your Mustang's dash looking good. Now, iDatalink's ADS-KIT-MUS01 factory integration package (along with their Maestro RR adapter, sold separately) gives you everything to need to install select receivers in your dash and wire it up to your Mustang. Best of all, you'll retain the use of your steering wheel audio controls, climate controls, and the Ford SYNC™ system, plus add some very cool features along the way.

A fit in the dash

iDatalink's ADS-KIT-MUS01 kit includes a dash console that matches the fit and finish of your factory dash. You'll retain the use of your Mustang's LCD display, which provides song and title information, station information, and caller ID for hands-free calling with Bluetooth®. You can operate your climate controls from a compatible receiver's touchscreen and the customizable buttons built into the iDatalink dash console. This kit also includes two integrated USB ports that work with your compatible receivers.

Wire it up

First, you connect the iDatalink Maestro RR adapter to your PC using its included USB cable, visit www.idatalinkmaestro.com/plugin and follow the instructions. Once you've indicated you're using the ADS-KIT-MUS01 kit and the Maestro RR has been "flashed," you're ready for the installation. Next, you'll either solder or crimp the wiring harness that's included in this package to your new Kenwood's receiver's wiring, just like you would with any Crutchfield wiring harness or wiring adapter.

The ADS-KIT-MUS01 kit comes with simple plug-in connectors for the iDatalink Maestro RR adapter and your Mustang's factory wiring harness. You'll also get a mono subwoofer RCA connection which directly plugs into the subwoofer channel of your Mustang's amplifier. With Mustangs that don't have the SYNC™ system, you can use the adapter's AUX IN RCA connectors to link the Mustang's factory auxiliary input to an auxiliary input on your new receiver.

The coolest part

Once you've installed a compatible receiver in your Mustang, you'll be able to use your receiver's touchscreen to check your tire pressure, battery voltage, and door ajar warnings. You'll also be able to choose which gauges you'd like to appear on the receiver's screen, and you'll even be able to check the engine codes when a warning light comes on.

Compatibility Notes: The iDatalink ADS-KIT-MUS01 kit must be used with the iDatalink Maestro RR adapter and a compatible Kenwood or Alpine receiver (See Details for receiver compatibility). This kit is only compatible with 2010-2014 Mustangs without the factory navigation radio.

Q
Does this come with the Idataline AR? Or is there any additional pieces i need i have sync and shaker 500

This is only the dash kit with wiring harness for the maestro. You will still need to buy the idatalink maestro control interface separately. http://www.crutchfield.com/p_794ADSMRR/iDatalink-Maestro-ADS-MRR-Interface-Module.html

Mine did. But I had great help from the crutchfield staff. I would get withth and make sure you get everything

That kit should be all you need. The install is fairly simple also.

Bailey, I installed a Kenwood DDX5901HD in my 2014 Ford Mustang GT that had a stock radio, so I did not have Sync to deal with. If you are installing a supported Kenwood receiver, as I did, then all I needed was: iDatalink Maestro ADS-MRR Interface Module ADS-KIT-MUS01 Kit (includes wiring harness) Chrysler/GM/Ford Antenna Adapter Motorola M to OEM antenna F The ADS-KIT-MUS01 Kit included the wiring harness for install, so you do not need to order a separate F01 wiring harness to work with the ADS-MRR, as the Crutchfield site indicates. The install docs show the included harness works with a Sync system, in conjunction with the iDatalink Maestro ADS-MRR Interface Module and states that it "RETAINS STEERING WHEEL CONTROLS, SYNCTM VOICE COMMANDS, SYNCTM BLUETOOTH, SIRIUSTM SATELLITE AND MORE". My steering wheel controls work with the radio, and the OEM integration is great, as well as the voice controls. ADS Tech Support was great when I needed clarification on the wiring harness and programming for the ADS-MRR. Hope this helps!

Q
How will I get access to my climate controls if I don't have Sync in my car?

A
If you are installing in a 2014 Mustang without Sync (like mine), the harness with the kit will work without having Sync. I'd reccomend that you get the iDatalink Maestro for full Oem integration so you can use the steering wheel controls as long as you have a supported stero model. ADS install support is good - you can call them to get more specifics.
robert  Jul 03, 2014
A
I think the climate controls are controlled independently from Sync over the can bus. iDatalink has a web sight for the maestro that lets you specify what option you have and it will let you know what this setup can control in your car
robert  Jul 01, 2014
A
The Kenwood unit and face plate handle the climate control

Im not sure about what happens without sync. But im sure the only difference from sync and no sync is the stereo controls. That being said. Climate controls are one of the only buttons on the maestro radio bezel. You tap climate control and the rest pops up on you headunit.

I installed a 6.95 " Kenwood DNX890HD with this Kit in my 2013 Mustang GT. The double din head-unit fits perfectly without any issues.
joel a.  May 06, 2014
A
The screen size will depend somewhat on the compatible receiver you select. In combination with the iDatalink Maestro RR (794ADSMRR, sold separately), the ADS-KIT-MUS1 lets you replace the factory non-navigation radio of your 2010-2014 Ford Mustang with a 2013 aftermarket Kenwood DNX/DNN-series head unit (sold separately). You can check out the compatible Kenwood units that will fit your vehicle here: http://www.crutchfield.com/fg_182350_FFBrand%7CKenwood/Kenwood-In-dash-GPS-Navigation.html?showAll=N&tp=20212
