To see the best possible picture from your projector you really need a screen. And since a large rectangular expanse of white doesn't compliment most room decors, the most elegant solution is a motorized retractable screen like the Da-Lite Designer Contour Electrol. When it's show time, just touch a button on the supplied remote control and the screen quietly lowers into position.

This 106" screen features Da-Lite's Video Spectra® surface — a reflective coating which provides increased brightness, while moderately reducing viewing angle. It's a great choice if your room has ambient lighting that's not fully controllable. Black borders framing the viewing area enhance the perceived brightness and colors of on-screen images.

The Da-Lite 89760W has a sturdy aluminum case with a white powder-coated finish. A 10-ft. power cord is included.

Product Highlights:

  • 106" diagonal image size (16:9 aspect ratio)
  • viewing area: 92"W x 52"H
  • Video Spectra® surface with screen gain of 1.5
  • optimal viewing angle range is 35° half-angle, 70° total
  • black border around viewing area enhances perceived picture brightness and contrast
  • vinyl screen material is durable and easy to clean
  • remote control included
  • remote receiver is built into screen's case
  • 10-ft. AC power cord
  • aluminum case with white powder-coated finish
  • case dimensions: 110-1/4"W x 5-1/8"H x 4-1/4"D

quite a disapointment!

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

The screen was delivered after about two weeks. I wanted to set a home theater, and needed to wait for the screen which was the last one to come. All the other items (projector, blu-ray, sound system) function great, and I am very happy with them. The screen, however, makes a loud noise when going up and down, especially when it goes up. It also doesn't go up smoothly enough. When I called the company (Da Lite), the man on the phone was not helpful, and when listening through the phone to the sound he said "it was the normal sound of the product". He told me: "Call Crutchfield, to send it back". I told him: "I don't want to send it back, all I want is a screen that operates with a low pitched hum, the way it's described in your brochure." The screen was mantled here by professionals. I will need to call them again, pay them again, and figure out how to eliminate the noise. Other than this the screen is quite nice, and the picture projected on it looks great. That's why I give this product two stars only.

Pros: nice look.

Cons: noisy.

Features

Overview: The Da-Lite Designer Contour Electrol is a motorized retractable projection screen with an infrared remote control. It has a stylish, curved, extruded aluminum case with a white powder-coated finish. A 10' power cord is included. Screen operation is controlled by the supplied 3-button infrared remote control. It comes with the Video Spectra 1.5 screen fabric.

Viewing Area: The screen has a 106" (diagonal) viewing area with a 16:9 aspect ratio, perfect for viewing your HDTV programs and movies. The viewing area is 52" high and 92" wide.

Screen Surface: The Video Spectra 1.5 screen surface has a reflective coating which provides an increased amount of brightness. The 1.5 gain of the material makes it suitable for environments where ambient light is uncontrollable, and is ideal for use with projectors with moderate light output. It has a viewing angle of +/- 35° from center. The screen surface is washable, flame retardant and mildew resistant.

Installation: This Da-Lite projection screen can be wall-mounted, ceiling-mounted, or suspended from the ceiling on hooks. If wall-mounted, the screen should be mounted to a wall stud or some reinforcement within the wall. Concrete or brick walls require special fasteners and anchors. If ceiling-mounted, you should ensure that the ceiling has adequate reinforcement to attach the screen brackets or hook anchors.

Note: The screen does NOT include the hardware for securing it to the wall or ceiling.
