The Pentax WG-4 is rugged and ready to take memorable photos wherever you take it.
This is a tough camera — exactly what you need if your weekend plans often take you off the beaten path. The Ricoh WG-4 GPS is waterproof, resists freezing temperatures, and it's shockproof as well. With built-in GPS, the camera records your geographical location, allowing you to geotag your photos so you never forget where each shot was taken. The rugged chassis also contains a compass and altimeter, and records water depth and pressure.
The WG-4 also provides full HD movie recording, which lets you capture high-quality, extended movie clips. It also features a high-speed camera function for slow-motion playback of captured movie clips and a fast-forward movie function so you have plenty of creative options. The built-in micro-HDMI connector makes it easy to display your videos on a compatible large screen.
You can take landscape shots and portraits with the WG-4, but you'll really notice how handy it is when you want to go macro. The camera features six bright LED lights arranged around the lens, ready to illuminate close-up shots perfectly, even when you're underwater.
From baby's first steps, to that dream vacation in the islands, these cameras make it easy to capture life's greatest hits. Today's cameras have helpful automatic features, like face detection and scene recognition that make shooting more foolproof than ever. And they all have plenty of megapixels for detailed photos that stay sharp, even when you enlarge and print them.
Very happy with my purchase! Shoots amazing video and takes great pics. Probably a littler larger that I would like but it is very sturdy. I took it to Disneyland a couple weeks ago and used it all day on one battery. I would definitely recommend this camera again. Great price and service from Crutchfield as always!
Pros: Amazing video quality, very sturdy!
Cons: Slightly bulky, large
I purchased this camera specifically for my Hawaiian vacation. It fit all of my specs for perfect vacation device. The top 5 reasons why to buy this camera: 1. Waterproof (worked great for those snorkeling videos) 2. GPS ( I am a photographer and take thousands of photos every year, it's nice to know where they were taken) 3.Video (great feature that I am just starting to utilize) 4. Price (329.00 I thought that was a pretty good price) 5.Macro Flash (if you take macro or very close photos then this feature is a must have) I took nearly a thousand pics and 25 or so vids with it and still like it. Fits in cargo shorts pocket and proved invaluable on a 4 mile hike through knee deep mud to a waterfall and a swim. I would'nt dare drag my 3000 dollar DSLR into the bush like that.
Now for the downside...yes everything has a downside. 1. Battery life stinks...200 pics and it's time for a charge. Buy an extra battery! 2. The control buttons on the back are really small for male fingers. The wife told me to quit whining about them because they fit her fine! 3. Too many functions for a small rugged camera! Yep , that's it.
My wife has claimed this camera for herself and I will have to purchase another for my upcoming fishing and hunting trips. It was dropped from about 4 feet on to concrete without any problems...not even a scratch. It's plastic and had it skidded it would have suffered from road rash. Love it!
