Small, tough, fast... (almost)
Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)
It came in a nice box. Open it and you will find a very thin, tough looking SSD drive. It is even smaller and thinner than your iPhone5. Plug it in and yes, it does transfer fast... well not as fast as I had hoped. I am using a Lenovo X240 and its internal SSD is very much faster. Using CrystalDiskMark, you can see the difference. Their reviews are very good and accurate. You can also read about why external SD drives are slower than those built for internal. I had wanted to use this drive to host my VM and thinking that USB3.0 with SSD would be good enough, well, it was not. So for now, I am back to moving my VM back into the internal drive.
Pros: Light, slim, built USB cable. Runs without any excessive heat either. Excellent.
Cons: Want to use this drive to host your VMs? Maybe wait for the next generation of SSDs. I was also disappointed when I open the packaging box for the first time - the nice steel casing of the SSD had several specks of dirt. Although I could clean it off, it did gave me a bad feeling that someone had use it before.
