About the Infinity INF-MR180

Jon Paul

Built tough to play hard

Don't let the no-nonsense exterior fool you. Infinity's INF-MR180 CD receiver looks like a serious piece of gear because it's built to survive the extremes of a marine environment. But that doesn't mean it's not ready to party at the drop of a dock line.

Built tough to play hard

Don't let the no-nonsense exterior fool you. Infinity's INF-MR180 CD receiver looks like a serious piece of gear because it's built to survive the extremes of a marine environment. But that doesn't mean it's not ready to party at the drop of a dock line.

Whether you're dashing around the lake or cruising up the river, this tough, versatile AM/FM/CD receiver will keep you and your crew entertained. You can play your favorite CDs, including music you're ripped to disc in MP3 or WMA formats. Or, if you don't want to bring along an album full of discs, you can plug a music player into the aux input or a thumb drive into the USB port. Built-in Bluetooth® lets you stream music from your Android phone or other compatible device.

The INF-MR180 includes two sets of preamp outputs, so you can expand your system with marine amps in the future. A clear LED display lets you see what you're listening to with just a glance, while the weather-resistant, UV-stable face and controls will stand up to sun, salt and moisture when you're riding the waves.

Installation Note: This marine receiver's chassis will fit into a standard DIN (2" x 7") opening, but the oversize face can cause problems in certain applications. The INF-MR180 is not compatible with flip-down marine receiver covers. Please check the dimensions in the Details tab to make sure this receiver will work in your boat.

Bluetooth note: Use of this receiver's Bluetooth features will depend upon your phone's Bluetooth capabilities. Learn more in our article explaining Bluetooth profiles.

The faceplate features a unique rubber gasket and door assembly offering the internal components complete water protection. The unit also features a protective seal around the chassis to keep water from dripping onto the internal circuits.

The front-panel mechanically folds down to load and eject CDs. The unit's face features a 1-line display. The face-plate is not detachable.

The USB port allows you to connect a USB Mass Storage Class (MSC) compliant device; such as your Android smartphone, portable digital audio player, or USB thumbdrive. The unit supports audio playback & control of MP3/WMA audio files stored on a compatible USB mass-storage class device. USB portable devices that can be charged via USB will be charged when plugged into the receiver's USB port (0.5A) and the ignition switch is set to ACC or On.

Note: The USB port does not support Apple iPod, iPhone, or iPad.

Intro Scan: This function allows you to locate and play the first 10 seconds of all the tracks recorded on a CD or the first 10 seconds of the first track of all the folders on an MP3/WMA disc or USB device.

Bluetooth/Aux Integration

Bluetooth Audio Streaming: The Marine CD receiver supports wireless audio playback (AD2P) and control (AVRCP) of a Bluetooth enabled audio player or smartphone. The marine receiver will be able to control basic playback functions of your Bluetooth device's stored music; such as Play/Pause, Skip Next/Previous, Fast Forward/Rewind and Random/Repeat. The head unit will also display your stored music's song information; such as Artist name and Song/Album title. The marine unit also supports audio streaming of music apps downloaded on your smartphone with limited control and no metadata display.
