A digital media receiver built for the outdoors

Infinity's INF-PRV250 marine digital media receiver gives you plenty of ways to enjoy music, plus the inputs you'll need to expand your system later.

This digital media receiver packs a lot of features into a compact, rectangular design that fits neatly in almost any boat, motorcycle, or ATV. You'll get your favorite AM/FM radio stations, of course, plus you can use the aux or USB inputs to enjoy tunes stored on a music player or USB thumb drive. Built-in Bluetooth lets you stream music from your smartphone.

The INF-PRV250 includes a set of rear-mounted preamp outputs, so you can expand your system with a marine-rated amp in the future. The LED display tells you what you're listening to with just a glance, while the weather-resistant, UV-stable face and controls will stand up to sun, salt and moisture.

Bluetooth note: Use of this receiver's Bluetooth features will depend upon your phone's Bluetooth capabilities. Learn more in our article explaining Bluetooth profiles.

Q
Is it acceptable to connect two 4-ohm speakers, to a single speaker output? I only want to connect two speakers to the left and two to the right. Is that acceptable? Or is it necessary to use the four separate speaker output to run four speakers?
david  Dec 08, 2023
1 answer
A
The Infinity INF-PRV250's internal amp is not 2-ohm stable, David. To connect four total 4-ohm speakers, you would need to use the front right and left and rear right and left channels. Attempting to drive two speakers per channel will damage the Infinity PRV250's internal amp. I hope this helps!

Q
is the wiring harness compatible the with PRV350 harness?
jason  Mar 28, 2023
1 answer
A
It does appear so under close inspection, Jason. If you are planning to replace an older now discontinued Infinity INF-PRV350 with the INF-PRV250 it does look like the wiring harness pin out locations and plug design are the same on both models. IF you have any issues with the current wiring, I advise re-splicing and using the harness with the new radio by adding the Accele CR-102HS-20 in the link below. https://www.crutchfield.com/p_074102HS20/Accele-CR-102HS-20-for-16-14-gauge-wire.html

Can I double output using only 2 speakers by running 2 sets of speaker wires to each speaker?

No you cannot. there are no receivers that are bridgeable. You can run two speakers, but you would simply not use the other two outputs.

Radio does not work on UBS cord and Auc?
barbara  Mar 16, 2017
1 answer
A
I hate to hear that those inputs are not working. The radio has short pigtails coming off the rear of it with those inputs. You might check those to make sure no cable has been shook loose. Other than that, I'm at a loss as to what could cause it and recommend consulting a technician for troubleshooting help. If you purchased it from Crutchfield, you can call us to troubleshoot it. I hope its a simple fix! My Bio: https://www.crutchfield.com/Support/Bio.aspx?bio=101

I have an Infinity prv- 250 on my motorcycle. I tried adjusting balance on speakers. But the right speaker is almost twice as loud as the left speaker. It wasn't always like that. I just noticed it. Is it possible that the amp may have gone out on that side? The unit is less than 6 mo. old.

Q
I have this hooked up to a JL 600/6 amp. Can I also run a powered sub to it also?
ryan  May 31, 2016
1 answer
A
The Infinity only offers a single pair of RCA pre-amp outputs which should already be occupied by your JL Audio amp. You could use RCA Y Adapters to split the single output of the Infinity into two pairs (one for the JL Amp, the other for the powered sub): http://www.crutchfield.com/p_120RCAY2/T-Spec-RCA-Y2-Y-Adapter.html You would need two of the adapters; one for the left channel the other for the right channel. Q
I have the Infinity PRV250 hooked to a Kicker PX200.1 through RCA's which is then hooked to a JL Audio M770-CCX-CG-WH, the JL woofer has a built in crossover for a tweeter. When everything is on i am only getting bass and a little sound with volume turned up through the woofer, nothing through the tweeter. The amp has an option to cut the leads of the RCA input and connect directly to the speaker leads of the source unit for Hi-Level signals. Is this an option with the Infinity PRV250?
derek  Jul 30, 2015

I forwarded your question to an Advisor and they responded with the following: The Infinity PRV250 does offer full range signal through the speaker leads. Since you already have the products you will want to get technical support to troubleshoot the issue at hand. Q
I have a 4 channel alpine amp and want to hook it up to this unit but there are only 1 set of output RCA jacks how would I make this work?
lee gilley  May 27, 2014
1 answer
A
I forwarded your question to an Advisor and they responded with the following: You have a couple of options for hooking up a four channel amp to that marine head unit. 1. If the amplifier has speaker level inputs, you can run speaker wire, which will give you the ability to fade front to rear. 2. Buy a Line Output Converter, such as the Scosche LOC80, which will allow you to convert the front speaker outputs to RCA level. You will be able to fade front to rear with this setup. 3. If you don't care to be able to fade from one set of speakers to the other, you can use splitters, like the AudioQuest FLX-X RCA Y-Adapter, and then run two lines to the amp. This will result in a lower level signal, since it will be split in two. 4. Depending on the amplifier, you may be able to run one set of RCAs for all four channels, we would need to know the model. This would also keep you from fading the speakers front to rear. If you would like to discuss further you can contact an Advisor directly by phone (1-800-324-9695) or online chat.

how waterproof is this unit? Id like to put it in my RZR 1000 in the dash area but sometimes the water gets that deep so it has a possibility of get wet or even submerged in water.

I have never submerged mine so could not answer that question. I have mine on console so takes weather such as rain and occasional snow. Seems to do fine on wash downs I do spray it with water hose to get salt off but have never used pressure washer on it believe it says somewhere in warnings to never use high pressured water on it. So it has been awesome head unit definitely recommend. The display does fog up a little from time to time but hasn't affected performance any.

I AM SERIOUSLY THINKING ABOUT BUYING THIS UNIT FOR MY POLARIS RANGER 4X4 ? I SEE THAT A WIRELESS REMOTE IS AN OPTION BUT CANNOT FIND ANYWHERE ON U WEB PAGE ON HOW TO BUY THE REMOTE? AND THE PRICE OF THE REMOTE ? .......OR DOES IT COME WITH ONE !!!!
james cigainero  Dec 23, 2013
1 answer
A
It does not appear that we currently carry the optional remote. These would likely need to be purchased directly from Infinity. I found this information in the manual: A. RF remote option. - In order to take advantage of the remote option, a transmitter and receiver must be purchased (together part#, MILRF9 UART). Once plugged in the RF remote dongle, the RF remote will allow for wireless remote control possibility. B. Wired remote. Proprietary wired remotes may also be used with this Infinity unit. Part # JBLMC20 may be purchased. Part# JBLMC20 may be purchased as well as part# JBLREM50.
