Unwind with warm analog sound

If you've never experienced the warm and natural sound that vinyl is famous for, the MMF-2.2 is a great place to start. This solidly built Music Hall turntable makes an excellent choice for seasoned audiophiles and vinyl newcomers alike who want to get outstanding sound quality without spending a fortune. Music Hall's minimalist design philosophy focuses on the features that benefit sonic performance — no unnecessary bells and whistles here. With its simple, elegant appearance and high-gloss piano black lacquer finish, this table will look and sound fantastic atop your audio rack.

High-quality construction for top-notch performance

The MMF-2.2's sturdy MDF chassis rests on vibration damping rubber feet that provide a solid, low-resonance foundation. Its heavy steel alloy platter spins on a high-precision stainless steel and bronze bearing assembly for excellent speed stability and smooth, silent rotation. The motor mount and belt drive system effectively isolate the motor's vibration from the chassis to prevent noise from being transferred to the cartridge. An external AC power supply helps further reduce any traces of interference or hum. Finally, the table's rigid, one-piece aluminum alloy tonearm provides superb tracking ability to faithfully follow the grooves of your albums, and includes a silicone-damped lift for gently raising and lowering the arm — protecting both the stylus and your records.

Quick and easy to assemble

Music Hall knows that turntable setup can be a challenge for the novice. That's why the MMF-2.2 comes out of the box virtually ready to play. Its pre-matched, factory-mounted phono cartridge and tonearm take the guesswork out of installation, and give you optimized sound quality with minimal effort. A few simple steps to dial in key settings like tracking force, anti-skating, and platter speed are all it takes to get this player primed and ready to deliver spacious, detailed music.

It is constructed using high quality components and comes complete with the cartridge mounted.

Note: The Music Hall MMF-2.2 turntable is available in high gloss piano black, red, or white finish.

MDF Plinth w/ Damping Feet: The medium density fiber (MDF) plinth stands on three special, resonance damping feet for exceptional stability.

Note: The turntable should be positioned on a low-resonance surface such as wood or multiple layer ply-board to avoid structural vibrations disturbing replay.

Alloy Platter with Felt Mat: The Music Hall MMF-2.2 turntable features an alloy platter and comes with a felt mat.

Stainless Steel/Bronze Bearing Assembly: The alloy platter runs on a precision, stainless steel and bronze bearing assembly to provide fluid and quiet operation.

1-Piece Alloy Tone-Arm: The Music Hall MMF-2.2 turntable features a one piece alloy tone-arm for superb tracking ability.

MM Phono Cartridge: The Music Hall Tracker moving magnet (MM) phono cartridge is pre-mounted and properly aligned. The turntable's elliptical stylus is user replaceable.

Fixed Audio Cable: The Music Hall Turntable is fitted with an attached 41" stereo audio cable with high-quality gold RCA connectors. Connect the turntable to the Phono input of your home receiver.

Dust Cover: The Music Hall MMF-2.2 comes supplied with a dust cover to prevent dust build-up on the turntable.

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Elegantly simple with great sound! I bought this turntable to replace a 10-year old D.J. style table that developed pitch control problems. I shopped with several specific features in mind. First, I didn't need all the switches, slide controls and lights my previous record player had. I just wanted to play LPs at 33-1/3 on a quality turntable that didn't cost $1,000.00. I also looked for one with belt drive to isolate the motor from the platter. The DC motor with separate AC power adapter design of the MMF-2.2 virtually eliminates any extraneous noise, like 60Hz hum. All I hear is what the stylus and cartridge pick up from my vinyl collection. Also, at 17lbs, the turntable is solid and stable. Setup was fairly straight-forward. Just need to be cautious around the business end of the tone arm. The anti-skate device is sheer genius.

Love the pure, rich sound!

Pros: Audiophile sound, well designed, good looking, solid.

Cons: None

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

love the design...especially the anti-skate. no bells, no whistles, no noise. it does have a power switch though. elegant looking piece, and a magnificent sound. I have found that many times, less means more, this is one of those times. I would recommend this turntable to anyone interested in entering the high end community...can't beat the price for what you get.

Pros: hinged removable cover on hinge pins.

Cons: none I could find

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

When I first received a my Music Hall MMF-2.2 turntable, it had a serious hum in the right channel. After making sure the problem was not caused by improper set up or a faulty ground I called Crutchfield support and was quickly shipped a product and given a return authorization for the defective unit. When the second unit arrived it set up perfectly and I was playing my old vinyl from the 70s in no time. Problems will arise from time to time, but Crutchfield did a fine job of making sure I was satisfied in a timely manner.

Pros: Great Service! Beautiful sounding product.

Cons: Defective product the first time out. Alls well in the end though!

Music Hall MMF 2.2

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I am 53 and became an ardent classic rock listener in the mid 70's. Vinyl records were my favorite medium and amassed a large record collection. I contiuned listening to vinyl throught the 80"s up until the advent of CDs. I was reluctant to switch to CD, but like most people I was intriqued with something new. So I turned to CDs, sold my turntable at a garage sale and gave away all my records. Thankfully, I did keep my Sansui stereo receiver.

About five years ago, while visiting a local CD store, I noticed used vinyl records for sale. I looked through the records for sale and began to reminiace. At that point, I thought how great it would be to start listening and collecting albums. I still had my receiver but I needed a turnatable so I bought an inexpensive turntable and began collecting records. As my records collection began to grow, I decided to upgrade my turntable.

After reviewing as much information available, I decided to purchase the MMF 2.2 because it fit my price range and was supposed to have quality sound The MMF 2.2 was easy to setup and took about 30 minutes after carefully following the user's maunal. After completing the setup, my first impression before playing a record was Music Hall's "minimalist design philosphy" was accurate. This is a basic turntable with no frills. The sound quality of this turntable is amazing. The sound was crisp and clear. I played the song "Royal Scam" by Stealy Dan and could hear every instrument. Clearly amazing.

Pros: Amazing sound quality and easy setup

Keep the music playing with replacement cartridges and other accessories.
Many systems lack the phono input needed to hook up a turntable. Separate phono preamps not only make it easy to connect to these systems, they also tend to offer better performance than the phono preamp circuitry built into many amps and receivers.
Protect your investment from power surges and interference.
Keep your records clean and static-free, or prevent disruptive vibration, for the best performance.
