About the Braven BRV-PRO

Ralph Graves

Ready for anything

A friend was looking for a Bluetooth speaker he could use on his stand up paddle board. Without hesitation I recommended the Braven BRV-PRO. It features an aircraft-grade aluminum frame with a thick rubberized, shockproof exterior. This portable Bluetooth speaker's built like a tank. Actually, considering its IXP-7 rating, make that a waterproof tank.

Braven BRV-PRO

But there's more. The Braven-PRO comes with a tie-down strap so you can lash it to bike handlebars or an ATV roll bar (just to give two examples). The speaker also has a removable accessory plate. Take it off, and you can lock down the Braven BRV-PRO onto a compatible Go Pro action mount (like the one on my friend's paddle board). Or secure two BRV-PROs (each sold separately) together. Braven's TrueWireless™ technology lets you pair them for use as left and right stereo speakers.

Big sound for wide-open spaces

The BRV-PRO's sound wasn't designed for some cramped work cubicle. It kicks out the sound with solid bass that won't get lost in the great outdoors. And the speaker has a Bluetooth range of up to 100 feet, so you can stream wirelessly from your smartphone or tablet without sitting right on top of it.

Hands-free conversation

If a call comes in on your paired smartphone while you're listening to tunes, you can hit the play/pause button on the speaker to talk hands-free using the BRV-PRO's built-in microphone. The microphone is noise-canceling, eliminating pesky background sounds, including wind.

Power to spare

The speaker's built-in rechargeable battery provides up to 15 hours of continuous operation. It also serves as a power bank for your portable device. If your smartphone or tablet is running low on juice, recharge it through the BRV-PRO's USB charging port.

Features

Waterproof Design: The Braven BRV-PRO Bluetooth speaker is completely waterproof, making it rugged and dependable for outdoor use. Complying with IPX7 Waterproof Standards, the BRAVEN BRV-PRO speaker is protected against dust, rainfall, water jets, and water splashing. The speaker features a resilient aluminum and rubberized housing.

Note: To ensure the Braven BRV-PRO is prepared for use in a wet environment, remove all cable connections and tightly close the rear water cap. If the water cap is not properly closed, the BRV-PRO watertight seals may be jeopardized. Any water entering the rear connection area will void the warranty, and could ruin your speaker.

Bluetooth Wireless Speaker: The Braven BRV-PRO Bluetooth speaker is Bluetooth compliant and is ideal for your Bluetooth-enabled Apple iOS device, Android smartphone/tablet, Blackberry, computer/PC or other device. The Braven BRV-PRO supports Bluetooth audio streaming (A2DP/AVRCP) and Bluetooth hands-free communication (HFP/HSP), as well as a simple pairing procedure.

  • Simple Pairing: A single button press pairs your Bluetooth-enabled device with the Braven BRV-PRO. The BRV-PRO speaker is capable of remembering the last 8 devices paired with it and will automatically search for previous connections (within 33' range) when the speaker is initially turned on. However. only one device can be used at a time to playback music or take a phone call.
  • Bluetooth Audio Streaming: The Braven BRV-PRO Bluetooth speaker streams stereo music wirelessly from Bluetooth-enabled devices such as your smartphone, tablet, computer, laptop, or other device. The Braven BRV-PRO offers basic playback control (Play/Pause, Previous/Next Track) over your music. You will continue to use your Bluetooth-enabled device to view song/artist information.
  • Bluetooth Hands-Free Communication: The BRV-PRO speaker features a built-in, noise-canceling microphone and a answer/end button so you can answer phone calls from the speaker. When the BRV-PRO is synced via Bluetooth with your mobile phone and a call comes in, your music will be paused and the phone's ring tone will play over the BRV-PRO speaker. Simply press the answer/end button on the speaker to answer your call through the Braven BRV-PRO. You will continue to use your Bluetooth-enabled device to view video calls, dial a phone number, and control other advanced phone functions.
Note: Due to the differences in Bluetooth technology, some Bluetooth enabled devices may be incompatible, function improperly, or may not support all features when used with the Braven BRV-PRO.

Auxiliary Input: For devices that do not support Bluetooth, the Braven BRV-PRO features an auxiliary input (3.5mm) and includes a stereo minijack audio cable that can be connected between the Braven speaker and your music player. The Braven speaker can be used with music players that have a 3.5mm headphone jack.

Rechargeable Battery: The Braven BRV-PRO speaker has a built-in rechargeable lithium-polymer battery (2200mAh) that provides up to 15 hours of playback time at moderate volume levels. You can easily recharge the battery using the included microUSB-to-USB charging cable and a free USB port on your computer or a 3rd party USB/AC power adapter (sold separately). Charging time is approximately 5 hours. Five rear-panel LEDs indicate battery level and charging status. You can continue to play your music through the Braven speaker while it charges.

Carrying Strap: The Bluetooth portable speaker from Braven comes with an adjustable nylon carrying strap with a snap closure.

Accessory Storage: There is an accessory storage bin hidden under the BRV-PRO speaker's top-panel. The panel can be removed using the included hex-key. Use it to store the included carrying strap and microUSB-to-USB cable when not in use.

Optional Accessories: Add-on accessories include a solar charging panel, rechargeable battery pack, sound-doubling stacking plates, and GoPro compatible action mounts (all sold separately). Check all these accessories out on the BRV-PRO app for Apple iOS and Android devices.

A
YES BUT YOU NEED THE 3.5 mm double ended cable
david  Jun 14, 2016
A
No, the pro can't be synced together. The bvr- x can be synced. You can get a stacking plate for the pro and stack 2 together for greater volume but it won't be in stereo like the bvr-x would be.
aaron  Jun 13, 2016
A
Yes it is possible. Braven sells a connector plate that allows to connect two speakers but it is a physical connection. This means that both speakers are connected one to the other in a stack. I did the arrangement myself and it works pretty well. If you are interested, check in the Braven webpage. WWW.BRAVEN,COM

If i get one for my son and one for my daughter will they be able to use separately in the same house without them crosslinking.? They both have I phones.. i also have a Oontz. So want 3 seperated Bluetooth connections.

A
As long as your son and daughter's iPhones were individually paired to the individual Braven speakers, there wouldn't be any interference or "cross-talk". For more information, feel free to contact one of our Sales Advisors via the "contact us" link at the top of your webpage.
