Less noise. More music.

One way that Beats Studio headphones enhance music listening is by blocking out external noise. Adaptive Noise Canceling ensures you hear more of your music and fewer distractions whether you're on the street, the train, or hanging out at home. Want to mute the music for a quick conversation? Press and hold the Beats logo on the earcup and your music goes silent until you let go.

RemoteTalk™ cable keeps you in control

Take control of your smartphone without removing it from your pocket. The RemoteTalk cable is compatible with Apple®, Android™, Windows®, and Blackberry® devices. Play and pause your tunes or answer a call thanks to the built-in microphone. The Studio headphones also come with a second cable without a remote for use with other devices. There's also a USB cable for recharging the internal battery, either via a computer or a wall outlet with the included AC adapter. A battery level meter on the earcup lets you know how much power you've got left.

Features

Overview: The redesigned Beats by Dre Studio headphones have new features to give you better sound, more comfort, and a streamlined look. These iconic headphones feature the Beats Acoustic Engine, and Adaptive Noise Canceling powered by a rechargeable battery. The Beats Studio comes with two 54" audio cables, a charging cable, and a cleaning cloth to keep your headphones looking new at all times.

Folding Design: The Beats Studio's earcups are hinged so they can be folded for easy storage in the included hard-shell carrying case.

Beats Acoustic Engine: The Beats Studio features custom DSP software that is designed for specific music types, such as rock, hip-hop, pop, electronic, and R&B, to bring out the full musical experience. The resulting sound is designed to bring you an intimate, personal, and emotional listening experience.

Adaptive Noise Canceling: The Beats Studio headphones have an active noise reduction system called Adaptive Noise Canceling (ANC). Powered by a rechargeable battery, you can activate ANC to cancel out external noise by simply plugging in the audio cable. Likewise, you can turn off ANC by unplugging the cable. You can use ANC when listening to music to eliminate unwanted noise so you'll hear your music only. The ANC only mode, activated by pressing the power button with no cables plugged in, increases the amount of noise cancellation so you can enjoy peace and quiet, even without music.

Rechargeable Battery: The built-in battery provides approximately 20 hours of playback time on a full charge. The headphones include a 37" USB charging cable with a Type A USB plug on one end and a Micro USB plug on the headphone end. The right earcup has a row of 5 LED to serve as a battery "fuel gauge", letting you know how much battery power remains.

Audio Cables: Two 54" straight audio cables are included with the Beats Studio headphones. One cable is for audio listening only, while the other has an in-line microphone/3-button remote control. The remote is fully compatible with iPhone, iPod, and iPad. The outer buttons control volume up and volume down, while the center button controls phone calls and music playback. With one press, you can answer or hang up a phone call, and play or pause your music. Two presses during music playback skips forward to the next track. Three presses skips backwards to the beginning of the currently playing track or the previous track.

Mute: When listening to music through the headphones, you can mute the audio by simply pressing and holding the Beats logo (red "b") on the right earcup.

Customer Q&A

Q
What is the impedance of the Beats Studio 2.0?
steve  Dec 23, 2014

A
The impedance of these headphones is a non-issue, as they have their own internal amplifier that handles powering the drivers. I have found that the output of this amplifier varies based upon the power range of the device that is sending an amplified signal to it. For example, when plugged up to my iPhone or iPad, I find that the ideal listening volume setting is somewhere in the 70% of full volume range. On my desktop computer, however, which has a slightly lower power output from it's audio jack, the volume level deliver by the internal amplifier is MUCH higher. To see the same volume level on my PC, I have to run the output adjustment on my computer down at around 45% of the total range. Since the computer has a lower power output, the amplification in the headphone boosts the input sound more. So, as a result of this, these headphones play a LOT louder when driven by my computer than they do with my iPad or iPhone...

not sure but I haven't had much luck with anything made by beats. I'd stay away
anthony  Dec 29, 2014
A
Unfortunately impedance is not a spec that is given for these headphones. If there are compatiblity concerns I would recommend reaching out to an Advisor by phone (1-800-324-9695) or online chat.

Q
Are the internal rechargeable batteries, replaceable?
rick  Dec 31, 2014

A
I forwarded your question to an Advisor and they responded with the following: It's not a pop-out replacement. We don't carry any replacements and, as far as I know, Beats doesn't offer a replacement to purchase If you would like to discuss further you can contact an Advisor directly by phone (1-800-324-9695) or online chat.

Not sure. I did not try to pull off the earcups. I don't want to break anything. But it seems like you can't.
marlon  Dec 10, 2014
A
Yes, but I don't think its recommended. There's videos online to show you how, but there not "offcial".
