About the Yamaha BR15
Big volume and big value
Building a loudspeaker system can be an expensive proposition -- but it doesn't have to be. Yamaha's BR Series speakers give you the sound you need and the rugged reliability you want, all at a reasonable price. Whether you're buying equipment for your band, school or house of worship, these Yamahas offer a remarkable combination of performance and value.
The "BR" stands for "Bass Reflex," so you can count on powerful low-frequency performance from the 15" woofer in its ported cabinet. High frequencies are handled beautifully by a 1" titanium tweeter housed in a 90° by 40° non-resonant horn. Descended from Yamaha's acclaimed Concert Club speakers, the BR15 is a terrific choice for anyone looking for great sound in a medium-sized venue. The built-in pole socket accepts any standard 1-3/8" speaker stand or pole.
Tough enough for life on the road
The life of a loudspeaker can be rough at times, but the BR15 will stand up to the rigors of the road. The carpeted exterior protects a rugged, durable cabinet that's precision-cut and hand-assembled. The subtle exterior styling fits into any venue, but these speakers are tough enough to be shoved into a van or moved across the room. Sturdy steel grilles protect the woofer during transport, while big, easy-to-grab steel handles and rugged steel corner protectors give you mobility and durability.

Features
Two-Way Speaker Design: The BR series speaker employs a two-way driver design with a horn-loaded 1" titanium tweeter and 15" high performance woofer.
- Horn-Loaded Tweeter: A pure titanium 1" compression driver is mounted to a 90°x 40° non-resonant, constant directivity horn with the goal of minimizing radiation pattern deterioration in oblique directions as more conventional horns are prone to doing. This can help to achieve a more ideal coverage area without irregularities. With the new wide dispersion constant directivity horn, sound expands in a more rectangular pattern providing 90° horizontal x 40° vertical coverage, with wide-frequency sound projected to the edges of the coverage area.
- 15" Woofer: A high power 15" woofer provides deep bass response with low distortion for great sound.
Rugged Bass-Reflex Cabinet: The cabinet is carefully designed for the best balance of small, easy to handle size and great low-frequency response, using Bass Reflex technology. The front grille has been enhanced in terms of both design and durability. In addition to a carpeted finish, the tough exterior features steel corner protectors and heavy duty metal handles for improved portability and durability. The BR series has been designed for the rigors of daily use in a portable sound reinforcement system.
Dual 1/4" Phone Jacks: The BR series speaker provides dual 1/4" phone jacks for input and parallel connection. Use one phone jack to receive input from your sound system/power amplifier. The other phone jack can be used to parallel-connect an additional speaker. You can set up a simple but high-performance PA system just by connecting a pair of these speakers to an EMX series powered mixer (sold separately). Or you could use BR series speakers in conjunction with a P series power amplifier and MG series mixing console (both sold separately) to create a range of very versatile live sound systems.
Protection Circuitry: With integral protection circuitry built into the speaker's passive crossover, you can expect a long life of high output and minimal distortion. A self-resetting poly switch protects the high-frequency driver from damage caused by excessive power. If a loudspeaker cabinet loses high-frequency output, immediately remove power from the unit and wait for two to three minutes. This should be long enough to allow the poly switch to reset. Reapply power and check the performance of the high-frequency driver before continuing, with the power reduced to a level that does not cause the poly switch to interrupt the signal.
Applications & Mounting Options: The speaker features a 1.375" (35mm) pole socket for use with Yamaha's speaker stand (SS238C, sold separately) for easy positioning in a wide range of applications. The BR series speaker is a great choice for bands, clubs, halls, rehearsal studios, retail, or school events; anywhere you need great sound in a medium-scale application.
