About the Yamaha SM12V
The latest in a long line….
Yamaha has earned its strong reputation for building quality PA speakers. Their rugged Club Series V speakers deliver powerful performance, while offering some cool features not usually available in this price range. Whether you're playing in a band, gigging as a mobile DJ, or acquiring gear for your school or house of worship, these Yamahas will give you excellent value and quality sound with any style of music.
A versatile monitor that's great for vocals
Yamaha's Club Series SM12V monitor uses a 12" cone woofer that works with the ported enclosure to provide powerful low-range performance. A big 2" titanium tweeter in a 90° x 40° horn handles the high notes. Handling up to 350 watts (700 peak), this versatile floor monitor features a built-in pole socket for mounting on a stand or pole, so it can double as a main speaker or side-fill monitor. Dual Neutrik Speakon® and 1/4" jacks make it easy to add more speakers when it's time to expand.
Tough enough to travel
The life of a loudspeaker can be rough at times, but the SM12V is made for the rigors of the road. The carpeted exterior protects a yellow pine particleboard (rugged and renewable) cabinet that's precision-cut and hand-assembled. The subtle exterior styling fits into any venue, but these monitors are tough enough to be shoved into a van or moved across the room. Sturdy steel grilles protect the woofer during transport, while big, easy-to-grab steel handles and rugged steel corner protectors give you mobility and durability.

Features
Two-Way Passive Monitor Speaker: The Yamaha Concert Club series SM12V passive monitor speaker employs a two-way driver design with a horn-loaded 2" titanium tweeter and 12" high power woofer.
- Horn-Loaded Tweeter: The 2" titanium compression driver is mounted to a 90°x 40° non-resonant, constant directivity horn with the goal of minimizing radiation pattern deterioration in oblique directions as more conventional horns are prone to doing. This can help to achieve a more ideal coverage area without irregularities. With the new wide dispersion constant directivity horn, sound expands in a more rectangular pattern providing 90° horizontal x 40° vertical coverage, with wide-frequency sound projected to the edges of the coverage area.
- 12" Woofer: The high power 12" woofer provides deep bass response with low distortion for great sound.
Angled Bass-Reflex Cabinet: The cabinet is angled for easy monitor placement. The cabinet is constructed of high quality particleboard, chosen for its high strength and elasticity, consistent void-free makeup, and light weight. Accurate CNC routing machines are used to cut every part, assuring consistency with tolerances of one ten thousandth of an inch. The cabinet is covered in a durable carpet with steel corner protectors and features a heavy-duty steel mesh grille, as well as integrated metal handles. They're designed to endure the rigors of a sound reinforcement system that will be set up and taken down night after night. The cabinet uses an efficient bass reflex design for bigger bass response.
Dual Inputs: The Concert Club series SM12V passive monitor speaker features a steel jack-plate with dual Neutrik Speakon and Switchcraft 1/4" jacks for input and parallel connection. The steel jack-pack offers the highest possible strength and current capacity.
Protection Circuitry: Protection circuit prevents excessive tweeter input due to acoustic feedback or other causes.
Integrated Pole Socket: The SM12V passive monitor speaker features a 1.375" (35mm) pole socket for use with Yamaha's speaker stand (SS238C, sold separately) for easy positioning in a wide range of applications.
