AKG P820 Tube

The frequency response for the AKG P820 Tube's selectable cardioid polar pattern.

Connect the mic to its remote control/power supply unit using the included 7-pin cable. The remote unit's front-panel controls let you select nine different polar patterns, including omnidirectional, cardioid, figure-eight, and intermediate patterns. The unit also controls a switchable bass-cut filter for removing unwanted rumble and an attenuation pad for keeping signals clean and manageable when recording loud sound sources.

Important extras

A ground lift switch prevents unwanted hum. The mic's output transformer emphasizes even-order harmonics to give it the distinctively warm, rich sound of a tube mic. The P820 comes with a spider suspension, as well as a power cable for the remote unit. And it all packs neatly into the included foam-interior metal carrying case.
