The JRX225 is a dual 15" 2-way speaker designed for sound reinforcement in live performance situations, and its powerful bass response makes it a great choice when adding a sub to your system isn't an option.
Surprise inside
The JRX225 speaker features two JBL 15" low-frequency drivers and a 1" compression driver with a polymer diaphragm for high performance and reliability. It will handle up to 500 watts continuous (or 2000 watts peak), and JBL recommends that you power this speaker with an amplifier rated at between 500 and 1000 watts at 4 ohms.
The high-frequency driver uses a Progressive Transition high-frequency waveguide to broadcast clearer sound. The crossover network with its heavy-duty components allows this loudspeaker to handle high power levels and still deliver a clear, coherent sound. JBL's SonicGuard technology protects the high-frequency driver from damage caused by excessive sound levels.
Rugged enclosure
JBL built the rugged enclosure from 3/4" medium density fiberboard (MDF), and it's covered in black carpet with an 18-gauge steel grille and non-resonant steel handles. JBL's JRX225 offers the performance and durability JBL is known for in an affordable package.

"Quasi" 3-Way Speaker Design: The JBL JRX225 employs a "Quasi 3-Way" design that offers the extra bass for which a dual fifteen system is designed, but without sacrificing performance in the critical mid-range. The upper woofer produces mid-frequencies and bass, while the lower woofer concentrates on bass only. The reduction in mid-range phase cancellation greatly improves midrange sound quality and coverage. The JRX225 employs two 15" low frequency drivers with 2.5" diameter edge-wound ribbon voice coils for greater efficiency and power handling, and a 1" polymer compression driver for improved high frequency performance as well as system reliability.
Progressive Transition Waveguide: The 1" tweeter is coupled with a Progressive Transition high frequency waveguide which provides superior coverage control (90° H x 50° V), reduced distortion, and smoother frequency response.
SonicGuard HF Protection: Integrated SonicGuard protection circuitry shields the high frequency compression driver from excess power without interrupting the speaker's performance.
Rugged Enclosure: The rugged, acoustically superior enclosure is constructed from 0.75" MDF (Medium Density Fiberboard) using advanced adhesives and mechanical fastener technology for extreme durability and improved low-frequency performance. An attractive 18AWG hexagon perforated, steel grille protects speaker components from damage. The enclosure also features non-resonant, all-steel handles.
Input/Output Connectors: The JRX225 speaker is fitted with a Speakon NL4 connector and a 1/4" TS phone plug connectors. There is also a parallel identical Speakon NL4 and 1/4" connector that facilitates a loop-through connection so you can daisy-chain and power an additional JRX225 speaker.

This product is amazing and does exactly what I hoped. I use the speaker in a football locker room and it fills the space with tons of volume. Wouldn't mind having a few more of these.
