Desktop Studio Control Center: The PreSonus Monitor Station enables
you to manage multiple audio sources and sets of monitor speakers, simply and
easily, right from your desktop. The Monitor Station comes complete with a
built-in talkback mic, three source inputs, three speaker outputs, four
headphone amplifiers and control over the routing and level of every element
connected to the Monitor Station - effectively giving you complete control over
your entire studio environment.
3 Inputs: This convenient control center provides two sets of stereo,
line-level analog 1/4" inputs (balanced) and a pair of RCA analog aux/phono
inputs (unbalanced) with a defeatable RIAA filter so you can connect a turntable
or CD player. All three input pairs have the option to be simultaneously
available or exclusive, and a Mono switch sums the selected stereo source so you
can check for phase problems.
Note: The aux/phono input on the Monitor Station are multipurpose. When
used as aux inputs, they are simply -10 dB line-level inputs on RCA jacks,
suitable for use with CD and DVD players, cassette decks, and other consumer
gear other than turntables. Activate the RIAA filter for connection of a
8-Segment LED Meter: Observing the input levels for the main and cue
buses is simple with the Monitor Station's dual 8-segment LED meters, which can
be referenced to +4, +10, or +18 dBu. Input selection, speaker selection, and
LED meter mode can be set and saved during power up so that you can customize
your recording system for the way you work.
3 Stereo Speaker Outputs: The Monitor Station's three balanced 1/4"
TRS stereo outputs with individual Speaker Level Adjust knobs and Master Mute,
Dim, Mono and Level controls allow you to connect three sets of reference
monitors and easily compare your mix on each of them. Audition your music with
your choice of three stereo pairs of speaker outputs, each with separate level
control. All speakers can be simultaneously available, or just one pair at a
time, or you can choose between speakers A and B, with speaker output C
remaining active to feed a subwoofer.
Line-Level Outputs: You also get a pair of line-level main 1/4"
outputs, a pair of line-level cue 1/4" outputs to connect a recorder or external
Headphone Amplifier Outputs: The four headphone amplifier outputs with
individual source and level controls give you the ability to feed custom
headphone mixes to you or any of the artists in your studio.
Control Knobs: A large, conveniently located knob controls the main
speaker output level (but not the main line-level outs), and a Dim knob lets you
reduce the speaker output by a variable amount. Of course, you can mute the
speakers as well.
Built-in Talkback Mic: You can speak to the musicians over the
headphone and cue buses using the onboard electret-condenser talkback microphone or connect a mic
to the XLR talkback input. The cue signal is automatically dimmed when you use
the talkback mic.
